Jimmy Allen

Services for Jimmy Allen, 49, who died May 17 in Pahrump, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. A celebration of his life will be held immediately following at Who's Dunes on the corner of Highway 372 and Linda Street.

He was born Aug. 18, 1954 in Troy, N.Y., and was a resident of Pahrump for five years after living in Las Vegas for 25 years.

He graduated from Chenango Valley High School in Binghamton, N.Y. He was a bartender in both communities. He was a member of the Saloon Sweethearts Show of Las Vegas for 17 years, which benefited the American Breast Cancer Society.

His parents, Jerry and Eileen Allen, of Pahrump; brother Tommy Allen of Henderson; sisters Casey Michael of Pahrump and Jennifer Chumbley, of Las Vegas; nephews Barry James, Nick, Steve and Jeremy, and niece Tricia survive him.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Nathan Adelson Hospice of Pahrump.

Mae Harris

Private family services will be held for Mae K. Harris, 88, who died May 20 in Las Vegas.

She was born Nov. 18, 1915 in Lemont, Ill. A homemaker, she moved to Pahrump 16 years ago from Las Vegas.

Her husband Harry West Harris of Pahrump and daughter Sharon Voepel of Las Vegas survive her.

Neptune Society of Nye County handled the arrangements. (5/20/04)

William Barnes

Graveside services for William (Bill) Harvey Barnes, 88, who died May 22 in San Antonio, Texas, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Oak Grove cemetery in Irving, Texas.

He was born to Martha Alsup Barnes and Daniel Harvey Barnes and had 12 siblings.

As a boy he traveled throughout the southwestern United States picking cotton and other crops with his family. He then worked for 10 years as a cowboy.

He volunteered for the Navy immediately after the attack on Pearl Harbor and he served in the Pacific Theater until the war was over.

After his honorable discharge from the Navy, he married Florence Bernice Alsup and they raised three children.

He worked for Alford's Refrigerated Warehouse in Dallas for 32 years. He moved to Las Vegas in 1978, where he worked at Payless Cashways lumberyard for 16 years.

He was baptized at Calvary Baptist Church in Irving. He was a father and provider who loved and served his country.

His children Barbara, Gary and Bruce; grandchildren Florence Kierig, William Barnes, Traci Barnes, Frank Barnes, William James Carmichael, and Christopher DeWitt Carmichael; his great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews survive him.

Mae Schauer

Services for Mae A. Schauer, 88, who died May 21 in Pahrump, will be held in Minnesota.

She was born July 9, 1916 in Minnesota. A homemaker, she was a six-year resident of Pahrump, coming from Vallejo, Calif.

Her sons Donald Schauer of Nevada and Douglas Schauer of California; sisters Marrida Myron of Minnesota and Marcella Neimi of Arizona; and eight grandchildren survive her.

Her husband preceded her in death.

Jackie Clark

A memorial service for Jackie Clark, 53, who died May 8 in Pahrump, will be held in July.

She was born Sept. 24, 1950 in San Jose, Calif. In 1971 she moved to Milpitas, Calif., where she lived for 30 years. She worked in the education field for fifteen years before retiring in Pahrump in 2001.

Her husband Lewis Clark of Pahrump; daughters Katrina and Shannon (Matthew) Clayton, both of Pahrump; and four grandchildren survive her.

Neptune Society handled the arrangements. (5/8/04)

William Sears

Services for William Duke Sears, 77, who died May 20, will be held at noon Thursday at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 975 American Pacific Drive in Henderson.

He was born Jan. 15, 1927 and moved to Pahrump in 1969 with his wife Barbara.

He will be remembered and loved for his honesty and respect for all who came across his path. His family values were cherished by many.

His wife Barbara; children Theresa, Tracy, Brenda, Audre; and six grandchildren survive him.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Lighthouse Baptist Church. (5/20/04)

Pearl MacDonald

A celebration of life for Pearl MacDonald, 82, who died April 12 in Las Vegas, will be held from 11 a.m. 2 p.m. June 5 at the MacDonald home.

She was born July 4, 1922 to Burney and Pearl Theresa Langston in Reno.

She worked as a 21 dealer in several casinos in Reno and dealt to many famous people including Howard Hughes and Chico Marx. She received her private pilot's license in 1944 and after marrying her husband Sid, they traveled to the Philippines, Shanghai, Manila and Hong Kong.

She was a member of the Neighborhood Watch in Pahrump. She gave freely of her time and was always there to help anyone that needed her.

Her children Kim (Cash) Mitchell of Reno and Kit MacDonald of Las Vegas; sisters Jessie Holmes of Green Acres, Wash. and Margaret Bariski of Santa Rosa, Calif.; grandchildren Christopher and Steven; and many dear friends and neighbors survive her.

Her husband of 47 years, Sid, and brothers Lige Langston, Don Langston and Jack Langston preceded her in death.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice. (4/12/04)

Mark Rabon

Mark S. Rabon, 49, died peacefully May 25 in Las Vegas while in the company of his incredible family and many cherished friends.

He was born Dec. 18, 1954 in Kansas City, Kan.

A successful local businessman who owned Sun Valley Homes and Canyon Ridge Homes in Pahrump, Mark was a resident of Pahrump and Las Vegas for over 25 years.

His wife Dawn; his father, Charles; brother Mike; sisters Cecilia and Jamie and sons Sean and John survive him.

Mark was an incredible husband and true friend to many who will miss him dearly.

He was a motorcycle and racing enthusiast who loved life and lived it to the fullest. He gave from his heart and walked side-by-side with our Lord Jesus Christ.

Mark, we will miss you and forever love you.

A memorial service will be held at the Calvada duck ponds at 9 a.m. Saturday.

Samual Dismukes

Graveside services for Samual (Sam) A. Dismukes, 86, who died May 23 in Hemet, Calif., will be held at 1 p.m. today at Rose Hills Mortuary in Whittier, Calif. Memorial services will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday and 9:30 a.m. Sunday at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 650 S. Blagg Road.

He was born June 15, 1917 in Des Moines, Iowa and was a 22-year resident of Pahrump.

He worked as a power station operator for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power until retiring. He was the founder and a charter member of Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church.

His wife Lorna of Hemet, Calif.; children Don Dismukes of Los Angeles, Linda Johnson of Texas and Betty Thomas of Oklahoma; stepchildren Wes White of Marietta, Calif., Bill White of Pahrump and Lorene Anderson of Yorktown, Va.; brother Ed Dismukes of Las Vegas; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren survive him.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church.

Clifford Fearon

A memorial service for Clifford Joseph Fearon, 73, who died May 22 in Pahrump, will be held at 11 a.m. today at Christ the King Catholic Church in Las Vegas.

He was born Jan. 15, 1931 in Hanford, Calif., and was a resident of Pahrump for one year, coming from Washington.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. He retired in January 1996.

His wife Patti Fearon; daughters Sandy and Debbie; son Kenneth; and brothers Leroy Fearon and Richard Fearon, survive him.

Gregory Fisher

A memorial service will be held in Grand Rapids, Mich., for Gregory James Fisher, 18, who died May 21.

His adoptive parents Gilbert and Barbara Fisher; paternal father Patrick; brother Jason; sisters Monica of Michigan and Christina of Tennessee; and several aunts and uncles survive him. (5/21/04)

Frank Naser

Frank Shannon Naser, 79, died May 29 in Las Vegas. Visitation will be held at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main, Las Vegas, from 2-7 p.m. Sunday, with services to follow. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Palm Memorial Park.

He was born Dec. 27, 1924 in Washington, Pa. He was a 41-year resident of Las Vegas and a former resident of Amargosa Valley for 10 years.

He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and then worked as an electrician until his retirement.

He was a member of the Four Degree Knights of Columbus, the VFW, the American Legion, the IBEW Electrical Workers Union and the Southern Nevada Blue Grass Association.

His daughters Mary Lee Cooper of Las Vegas and Becky Thomas of Granite Falls, Wash.; son Leo Naser of Las Vegas; sisters Charlotte Greene of Andover, Ohio and Donna Puff of Enderlin, N.D.; brothers Roy Naser and Cletus Naser, both of Washington, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren, survive him.
