Evelyn Timbrel

Evelyn Timbrel of Carlin, loving mother, grandmother, wife and friend passed away in her home on Valentine's Day at the age of 47 due to complications of diabetes.

Evelyn was born April 22, 1956, in Las Vegas, N.M., to Eulalio Vigil and Margarita Martinez. She was raised in four very loving foster homes. She graduated from high school in 1974 from Las Animas high school in Colorado. After high school she attended college at Adams State. After returning home from college she "went on a walk and joined the army." She was stationed in Mannheim, Germany, where she married and had a set of twins, a boy and a girl, on Oct. 2, 1978.

When she returned to the United States she moved to Lander, Wyo., with the twins where she worked for nine years at the National Outdoor Leadership School.

In 1989 Evelyn moved to Gabbs, Nev., to work for FMC and met Lance Timbrel whom she married on Aug. 2, 1990.

For the past 11 years Evelyn had lived in Carlin, Nev., where she worked for Barrick Goldstrike as an autoclave operator and warehouse technician until 2001 when she lost her vision and had to stay home.

Evelyn enjoyed sewing, playing games, listening to her music (she could tell you what the song was, who the singer was, the year it came out, and what she was doing when she first heard the song). But most of all, Evelyn loved her six grandchildren.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband Lance Timbrel of Carlin; son Dennis James McClure (Chasity) of Texas; daughter Becky Anthony (Jim) of Carlin; and her grandchildren Alexandria, Desmond, Sayvonna, Gage, Biance and Xander.

Evelyn was a great person with an even greater personality. She was always ready to talk on the phone to her friends and family (for hours and hours) and play games until wee hours of the morning. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family.

Private services were held Feb. 16. Cremation was at Sunset Crematory under the direction of Burns Funeral Home.
