Gerald Perkins
Private family services have been held for Gerald R. Perkins, 55, who died Sept. 28 in Las Vegas.
He was born Feb. 1, 1949 in Hollis, Okla., and was a resident of Pahrump for nine years.
He served in the National Guard and was a heavy-duty operator in the construction industry.
His wife Debra Hardin of Pahrump; daughter Aliceia Brannan of Oklahoma; mother Barbara Perkins of Hollis; brothers Danny Perkins of Hollis and Dean Perkins of Lake Jackson, Texas; sister Debbie Perkins of Littlefield, Texas; and one grandchild survive him.

Carol HIll
A memorial service for Carol J. Hill, 71, who passed away Sept. 20 in Las Vegas, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Pahrump Elks Lodge No. 2796, located at 2280 East Basin Ave.
She was born July 29, 1933 to Wilford and Lillian Abbott in Glendora, Calif., where she attended Citrus School.
After retiring from the City of Azusa Light and Water Department, she and her husband moved to the Palm Springs area for several years before settling in Pahrump in 1996. She then worked for the museum in Shoshone and the Death Valley Chamber of Commerce for several more years.
She was a charter member of Pahrump Elks Lodge No. 2796 and served as lodge secretary until her death.
Her husband Bob Hill of Pahrump; daughters Marsha Swayze of S. Lake Tahoe, Dee Dee (Skip) Dearing of Whittier, Calif., and Donna (Art) Butterworth of Showlow, Ariz.; son John Lalonde of Burbank, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren survive her.
She also leaves behind many friends and fellow lodge members.

Jeffrey Herner
Jeffrey Allen Herner, 57, passed away Sept. 29 in Las Vegas.
He was born Sept. 21, 1947 in Utica, N.Y. and was raised in California. He served in the U.S. Army doing a tour in Korea. He moved to Pahrump in 2003 where he owned and operated Handyman Services.
He was a familiar face throughout the valley. He was loved and will be missed.
His son Jason; daughter Raquel; sister Roberta; nieces Kelly and Terri; great niece Jessica; and ex-wife Diane survive him. (9/29/04)
Lucille Rodman
Private family services will be held for Lucille Rodman, 74, who passed away Oct. 2 in Pahrump.
She was born March 7, 1930 in Iowa and moved to Pahrump seven years ago coming from Oklahoma.
A homemaker, she was a member of the Moose Lodge and was of the Lutheran faith.
Her daughter Gloria (Bud) McDougall of Idaho; six sisters; five brothers; two grandchildren; and three great grandchildren survive her.

Orville Schuette
Visitation and viewing for Orville E. Schuette, 27, who died Oct. 5 in Las Vegas, will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Pahrump Family Mortuary. Services will follow at 2 p.m. at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church.
He was born July 22, 1977 in Grants, N.M. He was a 1996 graduate of Pahrump Valley High School and was employed by Metal Solutions in Las Vegas.
He enjoyed taking his nephews fishing, camping and skiing, and enjoyed being outdoors and hanging out with friends.
His parents Bob and JoAnn Schuette; sister Rhonda (Curt) Grinell; nephews Christopher and Jordan; grandparents Orville and Joella Thompson of Ponca City, Okla.; uncle and aunt Phillip and Carolyn Lujan and cousins Jessica and Vanessa, of Rio Rancho, N.M. and uncle and aunt Gary and Gail Thompson and cousins Joshua and Jonell, survive him.

Robert Lehtonen
Private family services will be held for Robert Lehtonen, 69, who died Oct. 7 in Las Vegas.
He was born Jan. 20, 1935 in Ishpeming, Mich., and was a 16-year resident of Pahrump, coming from Kenosha, Wisc.
He served in the Air Force and worked for American Motors as automobile builder until retiring in 1987.
He was of the Lutheran faith and was a member of the VFW and the Cooties.
His wife Inga Lehtonen of Pahrump; daughter Pamela Lehtonen of Pahrump; and son Bruce Lehtonen of Pahrump survive him.

Jim Buckingham
Services have been held for Jim Buckingham, 65, who died Oct. 10 in Pahrump.
He was born Dec. 16, 1938 in Baltimore, Md., and moved to Pahrump in the fall of 1999, coming from Rolling Meadows, Ill.
He worked as a warehouse supervisor for an air freight company.
Jim was a happy, joyous and active member of Alcoholics Anonymous and died celebrating more than 24 years of sobriety. He never met a stranger in his entire life; he met friends. He was kind, thoughtful, loving and a genuine fun-to-be-around guy. Although his health was failing in recent years, Jim enjoyed playing cards and spent many happy hours with friends around the card table. He could still be found most days at his favorite spot: rolling the dice and hoping for his "ozone numbers" at the Terrible's Town craps table. He lived each and every day trying to be the best person he could be.
His wife Carole Buckingham of Pahrump; son Bruce Buckingham of Algonquin, Ill.; daughter Jennifer (Robert) Huhn of Rolling Meadows, Ill.; daughter-in-law Lisa Buckingham of Schaumburg, Ill.; grandchildren Matthew, Christopher, Caroline, Jessica, Melissa and Cassandra, survive him..
His son James Buckingham preceded him in death in April 2004.

Bernice Anderson
Private family services will be held for Bernice W. Anderson, 91, who died Oct. 11 in Las Vegas.
She was born April 29, 1913 in Salt Lake City, Utah and moved from there to Pahrump five years ago.
She belonged to the LDS church.
Her daughters Raelene (John) Moone and Marilyn (Kenneth) Mcberoy, both of Pahrump, and Diane (Ronald) Westerman of Salt Lake City; 15 grandchildren; and 31 great grandchildren survive her.
Her husband and one son preceded her in death.

James Ward
Visitation for James L. Ward, 76, who died Oct. 12 in Barstow, Calif., will be held from 10-11:15 a.m. today at Pahrump Family Mortuary. Graveside services will follow at Chief Tecopa cemetery.
He was born Jan. 25, 1928 in Mississippi and was a 10-year resident of Pahrump, coming from California.
He worked as a bus driver for A.C. Transit until retiring and was a member of the Baptist church.
His son James Ward of Barstow, Calif.; daughters Nancy Ward, Linda Day and Brendia Schmidt, all of California, Sheila Rapiut of Pahrump, Patricia Smith of Arkansas and Karen Davis of Ohio; brothers Vernon, Willard, John, Royce and Carl David Ward of Arkansas; 16 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren survive him.
