Oscar Clark

Oscar W. (Woody) Clark, 83, passed away Nov. 21, 2004 in Beaumont, Calif. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Mountain View cemetery in Beaumont.

He was born April 19, 1921 in Oklahoma and was a resident of Banning, Calif. and Pahrump.

Two daughters, Sue Ellen Barry of Yucaipa, Calif., and Carrie Noble of Murrieta, Calif.; four sisters, Undene Hartley, Patty Donley, Amella Brown and Laverda Preston; brother Omer Lee Clark; nine grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren survive him.

Carol Valdez

Private family services have been held for Carol Lee Valdez, 60, who passed away Nov. 21 in Las Vegas.

She was born Feb. 8, 1944 in Chicago and was a six-year resident of Pahrump and 18-year resident of Las Vegas.

She was self-employed as a domestic goddess.

From the family: She is sorely missed by Manny, Ryan, Sami, Joan, Dixie, Rick, Sue, Karen, Chuck, and many other family members and dear friends.

He husband Manny of Pahrump; and children Ryan, Sami and Dixie survive her.

Neptune Society of Nye County handled the arrangements. (11/21/04)

Allan Lansberry

Allan Lansberry, 79, passed away Nov. 25 in Las Vegas.

He was born Aug. 9, 1925 in Bischtown, Penn., and was a 13-year resident of Pahrump.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and retired from Farrell Corporation in Rochester, N.Y. as a machinist.

His sons James Lansberry and Russell Lansberry of San Diego; daughters Lynn Lansberry of Rochester, Margaret Cole of Las Vegas and Barbara Lansberry of Pahrump; sisters Dorothy Shirey of Woodland, Penn., and Betty Lewis of Lexington, Ky.; and seven grandchildren survive him.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital.

Services will be held at a later date (April 2005) in Clearfield, Penn.

Clifton Poll

Services for Clifton Gilbert Poll, 58, who passed away Nov. 14, will be held at 6 p.m. at Sullivan's Irish Pub.

He was born Dec. 31, 1946 in Salt Lake City and was a resident of Pahrump for the past 15 years.

His children Jessie, Kent, Kathy, Laveryl, Lillis; sister Joyce; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews, survive him.

His parents, Rolland Poll and Lillis Talbot, sisters Joan and Gean, and brothers Gary and Brent Poll, preceded him in death. (11/14/04)

Ruby Caraway

Services have been held for Ruby Irene Caraway, 65, who passed away Nov. 23 in Las Vegas.

She was born June 7, 1939 in Bakersfield, Calif., and moved to Pahrump five years ago from Pie Town, N.M.

Her husband Claude Lee Caraway; sons Claude Lee Caraway Jr. and Bill Ray Caraway, both of Pie Town, John Henry Caraway of Portland, Ore., and Jerry Jay Caraway of Harpers Ferry, W.V.; nine grandchildren; and five great grandchildren survive her.

Gary Hutchison

Services are pending for Gary Wayne Hutchison, 60, who passed away Nov. 22 in Pahrump.

He was born Feb. 11, 1944 in San Diego and was a resident of Pahrump for three years, coming from California.

His son David (Cami) Hutchison of Pahrump and sister Gail Hardy of California survive him.

Clifton Poll

Services for Clifton Gilbert Poll, 58, who passed away Nov. 14, will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday at Sullivan's Pub.

He was born Dec. 31, 1946 in Salt Lake City and was a resident of Pahrump for the past 15 years.

Andrew Purcell

Services for Andrew W. Purcell, 82, who passed away Nov. 29 in Pahrump, will be held Sunday at Neptune Society of Nye County, 720 Buol Lane.

He was born April 18, 1922 in New York City and was a 20-year resident of Pahrump.

He was a WWII veteran serving with the Merchant Marine and worked as a real estate agent before retiring.

His wife Jimmie Purcell of Pahrump; children Andrew (Pepper) Purcell of La Habra, Calif., and JoAnn Garner of Berthoud, Colo.; stepchildren Mary Yecoshenko of Butte, N.D., Patti Tilman of Riverside, Calif., Peggy Tudor of Pahrump, and Bill Bain of Houston, survive him.

Neptune Society of Nye County handled the arrangements. (11/29/04)

Linda Prescott

Services for Linda "Dani" Prescott, 15, who passed away Dec. 2 in Pahrump, will be held at 10 a.m. today at the Pahrump LDS church. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. today at Bunker's Memory Garden in Las Vegas.

She was born Sept. 22, 1989 in Las Vegas and was a resident of Pahrump.

Her mother and stepfather, Kelly and Mel Jackson, of Pahrump; father and stepmother, Scott and Suzy Prescott, of Las Vegas; sisters Whittney and Alyse Prescott; step brothers and sisters, Melvin Jackson III, Maya Jackson, Brandon Warner, Roger Scott Prescott II, Jahna Jackson, Heather Prescott, Cheyenne Jackson and Rachel Prescott; and grandparents Ron and Betty Prescott, Joe McDonough, Horst and Reylene Ramisch and Francis Jackson, survive her.

Her grandmother, Linda McDonough, preceded her in death.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Candle Lighters or Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Nicholas Ordonez

A memorial services for Nicholas G. Ordonez, 82, who passed away Dec. 3 in Las Vegas, will be held at 1 p.m. today at the Neptune Society of Nye County chapel.

He was born March 5, 1922 in Messia Park, N.M.

He is survived by Lily Vela of Pahrump, Nicholas Ordonez of Arizona, Stephen Ordonez of Idaho, Nick Joseph Ordonez of Las Vegas, George Ordonez of Pahrump, Tom (Sherrill) Lovato of Missouri, Elaine (Danny) Cuoco of Arizona, Lilly Ann Cookson of Kentucky, Mabel (Dale) Walters of Virginia, Michael Chavez of Las Vegas, Mark Lovato of Pahrump, Paul Lovato of Las Vegas, 28 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Edwin Brode

Services for Edwin Donaldson Brode, 82, who passed away Dec. 1 in Las Vegas, will be held at noon Friday at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial cemetery in Boulder City, with burial to follow.

He was born May 31, 1922 in California and had been a resident of Las Vegas since 1943. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force and was a lifetime member of the Las Vegas Musician's Local.

His daughter, Angela Brode of Port Orchard, Wash.; brothers Gilbert Brode of Phoenix and David Brode of Carson City; and numerous nieces and nephews survive him.

Robert Sims

Services have been held for Robert N. Sims, 67, who passed away Dec. 3 in Pahrump.

He was born March 15, 1937 in Vancouver, British Columbia and moved to Pahrump four months ago from Henderson.

He served in the Canadian Army from 1953 to 1958 and worked as a cab driver for Yellow and Checkered cab companies until retiring July 1, 2004.

His wife Nancy Sims of Pahrump; son Douglas (Karen) Sims of Las Vegas; daughter Laura (Richard) Billman of Pahrump; and seven grandchildren survive him.

His son, Robert Sims, preceded him in death.
