Robert Taber Sr.

A celebration of life for Robert B. Taber Sr., 63, who passed away May 31 at his home in Pahrump, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday (June 18) at the Taber residence, 80 E. Wilson Road.

He was born July 3, 1941 in Ventura, Calif., to Robert W. and Willa M. Bishop Taber.

He was a heavy equipment mechanic and operator throughout his life. He was "rough around the edges" but always helped those who needed it in the long run. His loves in life were fishing, hunting and car races.

His wife Leta I. Ginter-Taber of Pahrump; sisters Carole Roth of Pahrump, Sheila (Bob) Winters and Debra (Kevin) Kaiser, both of Washington, and Pam (Ron) Sheets of California; brother David (Chong) Taber of Washington; daughters Lorie I. (Bobby) Thomas of Missouri and Lisa (Ray) Herndon of Pahrump; son Bobby (Trish) Taber of Pahrump; special childhood friend Bill Pedro of Pahrump; and 10 grandchildren, Amie, Robby, Robert, Aaron, Benjamin, William, Colleen, Ariel, Leta and Lloyd, survive him.

The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Reiner and Nathan Adelson Hospice for the loving care they gave to him and the family. They "appreciate everything you have done."

Roger Greenway

No services will be held for Roger Lee Greenway, who passed away June 13.

He was a Pahrump resident for five years, coming from Bellflower, Calif.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran who worked as a special operations installer in the telecommunications industry.

He was a member and past governor of the Moose Lodge in Bellflower and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and four-wheeling. He was a great friend and good person who will be missed.

His children Allen, Lance (Sandra), Troy, Tommy, Melissa (Jeff), and Connie; daughter-in-law Amy; brother Jim; and grandchildren Jacob, Alyssa, Shelby and Kaitlyn survive him. His friends Dennis and Connie Wilburg will remember him dearly.

His son Daryl Greenway preceded him in death.

Neptune Society of Nye County handled the arrangements. (6/13/05)

Raymond Sherrill

Private family services will be held in Ohio for Raymond French Sherrill, 56, who passed away June 21 in Pahrump.

He was born Aug. 1, 1948 in Evansville, Ind., and was a resident of Pahrump since November 1986.

He worked as a correctional aide in law enforcement and was a member of the Shadow Mountain Ward of the LDS church in Pahrump, Moose Lodge No. 808 and Moose Legion No. 168 in Pahrump, Masonic Lodge No. 315 in Miami Shores, Fla., and the Shriners and DeMolay in Florida.

His wife, Lea Ross Sherrill of Pahrump, survives him.

Richard Thompson

Services will be held at a later date for Richard H. Thompson, 80, who passed away June 26 in Pahrump.

He was born Dec. 12, 1924 in Muscatine, Iowa, and was a 15-year resident of Pahrump, coming from Livermore, Calif.

He worked as a mechanical engineer for the U.S. government and was a member of the Elks Lodge and VFW Post No. 10054. He was also a bus driver for the Pahrump Senior Center.

His wife Audrey Mae Thompson of Pahrump; sons Randle Thompson of Florida, Terry Neil Thompson of Iowa and Richard Thompson Jr. of Colorado; daughters Sherrie Ford of Iowa, Nikki Barnts of Pennsylvania, Denise Learmouth of California and Diane Randle of Texas; stepchildren Kathleen Delgado of California, John Hager of Arizona, Deborah Beckman of South Carolina and David Hager of California; sister Phyllis Thompson of Iowa; niece Rita Wldarsczik of Arizona; 27 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren survive him.

Terry Charbonneau

No services will be held for artist Terry Charbonneau, 49, who passed away July 12 from complications of valley fever, after falling ill in 2000. He died in the arms of his loving wife, surrounded by family and many members of the UMC staff.

He was born July 26, 1955 in Oskaloosa, Iowa, to Jeanetta and Roger Charbonneau.

He met his best friend, Linda Wetzel in Cedar Falls, Iowa, on his 22nd birthday. They fell in love and moved to Nevada in 1979. They were married in 1983.

Terry had a strong passion for family, cooking, reading and making pots on the potter's wheel. Fellow potters will remember him as "Captain Fire." He was also a mentor to his best friend's daughter, Taylor Gresen, who he treated like his own.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

His wife Linda; Taylor Gresen of Las Vegas; stepmother Mabel Charbonneau of Pahrump; brother and sister Jerry Charbonneau and Sherry Charbonneau, both of Oskaloosa; stepbrothers Mike Carpenter of Gulport, Miss., and Jeff Charbonneau of Pahrump; stepsisters Maria Quercia and Gina Cummins, both of Pahrump, and Mira Haenel of Las Vegas; and a multitude of friends survive him.

His mother and father preceded him in death.

Terry will be cremated and his ashes will be placed in a hand thrown pot. (7/12/05)

Lillian Rogers

Services have been held for Lillian Gladys Rogers, 75, who passed away July 13 in Pahrump.

She was born March 25, 1930 in Hanover, Ind., and was a resident of Pahrump for 10 years, coming from California.

She worked as a retail clerk for Ralph's until retiring in 1970 and was of the Baptist faith.

Her husband, Raymond C. Rogers, of Pahrump; daughter Juanita R. Wilson of West Hills, Calif.; son Arthur B. Carpenter of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; brother Robert L. Gates of Incline Village; sister Martha E. Hill of Bloomington, Calif.; three grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren survive her.

Her mother, father and two brothers preceded her in death.

Gloria Thompson

Private family services will be held for Gloria J. "Jean" Thompson, 78, who passed away June 22 at her daughter's home in Spring Creek.

She was born May 19, 1927 in Goldonna, La., and was a resident of Pahrump for 14 years.

She was a schoolteacher, retired from the Louisiana Teachers' Retirement System and was a member of the Kiwanis.

Her daughters Linda (James) Small and Judy (Richard) Derrickson; grandchildren Daniel Small, Missy Horacek and Susan Littrell; and five great grandchildren survive her.

Her husband of 56 years, Norman J. Thompson, preceded her in death less than two years ago.

In lieu of flowers, prayers for the family would be appreciated. (6/22/05)

Lisa D'Elia Young

Visitation for Lisa D'Elia Young, 42, who passed away July 15, will be held from 2-7 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday at Palm Mortuary-Eastern, 7600 Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas. Services will be held at 4 p.m. following visitation Thursday.

She was born Dec. 17, 1962 in Newark, N.J., and was a resident of Pahrump for 15 years.

She worked as a real estate agent and was a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and the Greater Las Vegas Area Realtors.

Her husband Rob Young of Pahrump; sons Michael Anthony D'Elia of Henderson, and Cameron Young and Tyler Young, both of Pahrump; mother Monica (Richard) Coolbaugh of Henderson; father Anthony D'Elia of Mahwah, N.J.; sister Alane D'Elia-O'agan of Allendale, N.J.; and cousin Lenny Swiontek of New Jersey survive her.

Palm Mortuary-Eastern handled the arrangements. (7/15/05)

Helen F. Klier

Helen F. Klier, 90, passed away July 15 at her home in Pahrump with her daughter Mary, great granddaughter Sabrina and close family friend Susie at her side. Graveside services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at Chief Tecopa cemetery. She will be laid to rest beside her husband, Marshall, who passed away Dec. 7, 2004.

She was born April 30, 1915 in Buffalo, N.Y. Helen and Marshall moved to Pahrump in 1998 to be closer to their daughter Mary, and her husband Bruce, who own B&C Printing and Pahrump Tractor.

Helen spent her time tending to her African violets, her vegetable garden and the fish in the pond. Her greatest joy was her great granddaughter Sabrina, and she spent every day with her. She will be greatly missed by Sabrina and the rest of her family.

Helen was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Roman Catholic Church.

Her daughter Mary (Bruce) Paskvan of Pahrump; sons Thomas (Joann) Klier of Garden Grove, Calif., and Marty (Janet) Klier of Ten Mile, Ore.; grandsons Jason and Joshua of Pahrump; granddaughters Jodie and Jackie of California; and great granddaughter Sabrina survive her.

Her husband of 67 years, Marshall, and son, Dennis M. Klier, preceded her in death.

Dorothy Jane Cline

Dorothy Jane Cline, 82, of Pahrump, passed away July 15. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. today at Pahrump Family Mortuary, 5441 S. Vicki Ann Road.

She was born in Miami, Fla., on May 25, 1923 to Samuel Rhodes and Beatrice Belle (Pine). Her mother and stepfather, Harold Sample, raised her in Bellingham, Wash.

She married Orville Sylvan Camp in 1941, three months before he was shipped out to serve in the U.S. Army during WWII. Following the war, they were stationed in Washington, Texas, Kansas, Ohio, Germany and California. They were married for 23 years and had four children.

In 1964 Dorothy moved to Reno where she worked as a 21 dealer at Harold's Club until retiring in 1986.

She married Allen Lee Cline in 1969 and enjoyed a 35-year marriage that brought three stepchildren.

Following retirement she began tap dancing and performing with the Nevada Silver Tappers and Scotty's Classy Lassies at various locations throughout the state.

Dorothy's family says she left a "legacy of love and will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she has touched."

Her husband Allen of Pahrump; sons Victor Gale (Sue) Camp of Reno and Douglas Bennett (Dawn) Camp of Alpine, Texas; daughters Cynthia Beatrice Camp (John Lind) of Reno and Melanie Beth (Ephraim) Briscoe of Pahrump; stepchildren Larry Leroy Cline of Chiloquin, Ore., Linda Lee Urrutia of Reno and Lee Allen "Dusty" (Teri) Cline of Klamath Falls, Ore.; 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, who affectionately referred to her as" Grandma Angel," survive her.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4141 Sevensen Street, Las Vegas 89119.
