David Ross
Memorial services for David C. Ross, who passed away Feb. 20 in Pahrump, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Neptune Society of Nye County chapel.
He moved to Pahrump in 1997, coming from Simi Valley, Calif.
His wife Mary Ann Ross of Pahrump; daughters Angela of San Diego and Marie (Brian) of Pahrump; mother Martha of California; sister Ruth of Arizona; brother Jeff of Nevada; father-in-law Fred of Nevada; and grandchildren Roxanne, Jacob, Daniel and Rosie, survive him.
He will be greatly missed by his extended family and friends, too numerous to list.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests doing a kind deed for another human being, and think of David when you do "because he was an awesome person."

Gail Owens
Gail Martin Owens, 86, passed away Feb. 25 in Riverside, Calif.
He was born June 18, 1918 in Warren, Pa., and was a resident of Pahrump since 1997. He married
Lillian McDonald in 1947 and shared 52 years together.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946. He was a steel worker for Struthers Wells Corporation in Warren from 1946 until retiring in 1981.
He enjoyed golfing, bowling, hunting and fishing. Gail will be missed by his family and friends.
His children Craig Owens of Moreno Valley, Calif., Pamela (Michael) Kelly of Riverside, Mark (Rachel) Owens of Pahrump, and Susan (Henry) Wightman of Littleton, Colo.; and 11 grandchildren survive him.
His wife Lillian preceded him in death in 1999.
A memorial services will be held in Warren through the Peterson Blick Funeral Home. (2/25/05)
Lisa Nogera
Visitation for Lisa Lee Nogera, 41, who passed away Feb. 26 in Pahrump, will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Thursday at Pahrump Family Mortuary. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m.
She was born June 7, 1963 in Newark, N.J., and was a resident of Pahrump for six years.
A homemaker, she was a volunteer nurse for the school district and a member of New Hope Fellowship church.
Her soul mate Daniel Wenz of Pahrump; sons Justin Margeotes (Raquel Armendariz), John Margeotes and Joseph Margeotes, all of New Jersey; mother Carol Nolan of Las Vegas; father Jose Noguera of New Jersey; brothers Raymond Nogera of Las Vegas, Michael (Irene) Nogera and Rick (Odalis) Nogera, both of Pahrump, and Andrew (Debbie) Nolan of New Jersey; and one grandchild survive her.

Richard Hardcastle
Services have been held for Richard "Rocky" Hardcastle, 78, who passed away Feb. 24 in Henderson.
He was born Feb. 26, 1926 in Sandy, Utah and was a 37-year resident of Henderson.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a retired miner from the Nevada Test Site.
His wife of 48 years, Wanda Hardcastle of Henderson; daughters Signe Nerdin of Las Vegas and Kelley DiRosa of Henderson; sons Rick Darsnek of Henderson and Rocky Hardcastle of Las Vegas; brothers Ray Hardcastle and Ernest Hardcastle, both of Salt Lake City; sisters Bonnie Lofthouse, Mary Blaney and Glenda Ontiveros, all of Salt Lake City and Anita Rasmussen of Carlin; three grandchildren; and three great grandchildren survive him.

Estelle Tomkowiak
Estelle V. Tomkowiak, 91, passed away Feb. 25 in Las Vegas. Private family services will be held in New York.
She was born April 28, 1913 in Rochester, N.Y., and moved from there to Pahrump 11 years ago.
She was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of the Valley Roman Catholic Church.
Her daughters Joanne (John) Schifano of Nevada, Barbara (Chuck) McKay of New York and Paula (George) Glidden; son Frank (Mary) Tomkowiak of Indiana; 14 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren survive her.
Frank J. Tomkowiak preceded her in death.

Shirley Eldredge
Graveside services for Shirley Maxzine Eldredge, 79, who passed away Feb. 25 in Las Vegas, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Chief Tecopa cemetery.
She was born Dec. 15, 1925 in Salt Lake City, Utah, and moved from there to Pahrump 13 years ago. She was a housewife.
Her husband Melvin J. Eldredge of Pahrump; daughters Peggy (Rick) Gunn of Salt Lake City and Susan Ferro of Pahrump; son James Eldredge of Mentone, Calif.; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren survive her.
Her parents, one sister and one brother preceded her in death.

Forrest Hartley
No services will be held for Forrest Hartley, 22, who passed away Feb. 26 in Pahrump.
He was born Feb. 4, 1983 in Bakersfield, Calif. He lived in Lebec, Calif., for eight years, where he attended Frazier Park School and was a member of the Ninja Turtles soccer team. He lived in Tucson, Ariz., for three years and was on the track team in school. He liked karate and earned his blue belt.
He moved back to California, living in Canyon Lake for a few years before moving to Pahrump in 1995. He attended Mt. Charleston Elementary School and was a member of the Dodgers Little League all-star team. He then attended Pahrump Valley High School and played one year on the football team. He loved sports and motorcycles.
Forrest worked part-time in construction with his father.
He was a kind and loving person.
His father Lance Hartley of Pahrump; mother Donna Williams of Pahrump; brother Dillon Hartley of Pahrump; sister Melanie Coble of Ft. Gordon, Ga.; grandparents Chuck and Sherry Hartley of Seneth, Mo.; several aunts, uncles, cousins and three nephews survive him.
His grandparents Larry and Laura Hunt and uncle Justin Harley preceded him in death.

Deborah McCracken
A memorial service for Deborah W. McCracken, 50, who passed away Feb. 19, will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Amargosa Valley Community Center. Family funeral services were held in Chicago Feb. 28.
She was born Sept. 29, 1954 in Tennessee. She graduated from the University of Tennessee in Martin, Tenn., and was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority. She retired from her financial career as vice president of a property management corporation about 10 years ago.
Debbie enjoyed early retirement raising and showing horses and promoting youth events at horse shows. She was a hard management volunteer in the BLM Wild Horse Mustang program and also active in a variety of community programs, including Secret Santa in Amargosa Valley.
Her husband Ralph Lee McCracken; parents James and Dorotha Bratcher; sisters Cheryl (Jim) Allen and Donna (Mike) Teal; brothers Robert (Judi) Bratcher and Walter Bratcher; and many nieces and nephews survive her.
Her brother James (Bonnie) Bratcher preceded her in death.

Elizabeth Gilgan
Elizabeth Alice Gilgan, 89, passed away Feb. 20 in Las Vegas.
She was a homemaker and a resident of Amargosa Valley.
Her sons Gary Gilgin and Michael Gilgan, both of Las Vegas, and Robert Gilgan of Amargosa Valley; grandchildren Victor Gilgan of Scottsdale, Ariz., Brian "Skipper" Gilgan of Kilgore, Texas, Chad Gilgan, Michael Gilgan and Russell Gilgan, all of Las Vegas; and several great grandchildren survive her.
The Blessing of the Grave will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday by Father Dominick at Amargosa Valley cemetery.

Ruth Modjeski
Services have been held for Ruth Modjeski, 76, who passed away Feb. 20 in Las Vegas.
She was born July 19, 1928 in Hammond, Ind., and moved to Pahrump seven years ago from Las Vegas.
A homemaker, she was a member of the Republican Women and Our Lady of Valley Catholic Church.
Her husband Richard Modjeski of Pahrump; daughters Yvonne (Jerry) Beaman of Dahlgren, Va., Sharon (Al) Skurka of Crystal Falls, Mich., and Dolores (Mark) Oemler of Warrenton, Va.; six grandchildren; and one great grandchild survive her.
Her parents Benjamin Larimer and Mary Jaunta preceded her in death.

James Wilson
Memorial services have been held for James Edward Wilson, 65, who passed away Feb. 27.
He was born Nov. 30, 1939 in Olympia, Wash., and moved to Pahrump in April 2003, coming from Manteca, Calif.
He worked in sales for an oil company, was a 32nd degree mason, a member of the Scottish Rite, Associate Guardian for Bethel 69, Calif., and Humbolt Lodge No. 79 in California.
His wife Anita Wilson of Pahrump; daughter Karen Wilson (Bob Martin) of Stockton, Calif.; sister Carol Killian of Pahrump; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews survive him.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice.
