Private family services will be held for Eugene James Ferra, 37, who passed away Sept. 5 in Pahrump.
He was born Nov. 16, 1967 in Pennsylvania, and moved to Pahrump five years ago from Las Vegas.
He worked in construction and was a member of Christ the King church.
His fiancée Karol Apicella of Pahrump; mother Joanne Montoya of Las Vegas; sisters Stephanie Ferra-Bashor of Las Vegas and Joanne Ferra of Newbury Park, Calif.; and brother Carmen Ferra of Rhode Island survive him.
His father, Carmen Ferra, preceded him in death.

Scott Wright
Private family services will be held for Scott N. Wright, 48, who passed away Sept. 6 in Pahrump.
He was born Oct. 5, 1956 in Utah and moved to Pahrump 21 years ago from Las Vegas.
His daughters, Stacey Steel of Utah and Tai Leigh Wright of Wyoming: mother Marion Harp of Pahrump; son Logan S. Wright of Wyoming; and two grandchildren survive him.
His father, two brothers and another son preceded him in death.

Dorothy Hinkle
Dorothy (Dolly) Putnam Hinkle, 82, passed away Sept. 8 in Las Vegas.
She was born in New York, but lived in many places throughout the United States. She settled in Nevada for a period of years several times during her travels and referred to Nevada as home for the last 20 years. She spent her last three years in Pahrump.
Her husband Taylor Hinkle of Las Vegas; son Will Uhouse of Pahrump; son Ed (Denise) Hinkle of Florida; granddaughter Dee Dee of Orlando, Fla.; daughter-in-law Sharon and son-in-law Don, both of Las Vegas, and their families, survive her.

Polly Lynch
A Celebration of life for Polly Ann Lynch, 61, who passed away Sept. 7 in Albuquerque, N.M., will be held at 6:30 p.m. today at First Southern Baptist Church, at Highway 160 and 741 Fehrs Way. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Chief Tecopa Cemetary. Call Ben or Susan Lynch at 727-4935 for more information.
She was born Dec. 9, 1943 in Pahrump, just north of the library on the old Pahrump Ranch. She attended Pahrump grade school and graduated from Rancho High School and Silver City New Mexico College.
She was a nutritionist and worked for Elgrito Headstart in Silver City, N.M. She loved her family, her grandchildren, cooking and her Native American culture.
Her husband, Charles W. A. Lynch III of Silver City, N.M.; daughter Charlene Gomez of Silver City, N.M.; mother Clara Belle Jim of Las Vegas; brother Leroy (Marillee) Howell of Las Vegas; grandchildren Andria and Anna Belle Gomez of Silver City, N.M.; and several aunts, nieces and nephews survive her.

Richard Anderson
A memorial service will be held for Richard L. Anderson, 59, who passed away Sept. 10 in Las Vegas. The service will be at 10 a.m. Sept. 16 at Hites Funeral Home, 438 W. Sunset Road in Henderson.
He was born Sept. 2, 1946 in DeKalb, Ill. He served three tours of duty in Vietnam in the U.S. Army and earned the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. After his military service, he became a locomotive engineer. After retirement, he volunteered at VA nursing facilities, the Ronald McDonald House and animal shelters. He was a one-year resident of Pahrump.
His wife Nancy Anderson of Pahrump; sister Linda Evans of Tucson, Ariz.; niece Linee Kehe and two nephews, Spencer and Eric, survive him.
His parents, Emil Pete Anderson and Edna Marie Munson preceded him in death.

Richard Cowdery
Graveside services for Richard Eugene Cowdery, 64, who passed away Sept. 11 in Amargosa, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Amargosa Desert Memorial cemetery. Viewing will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Neptune Society of Nye County chapel, 720 S. Buol Lane.
He was born Jan. 25, 1941 in Charleston, W. Va., and was an Amargosa resident since 2003, coming from 29 Palms, Calif.
He was a high school chemistry teacher for 40 years and taught at Copper Mountain Community College for 28 years. He was a member of Christ of the Desert Catholic Church.
His wife Maria Corazon of Amargosa; brother Lee Cowdery; sister Betty Hall; nephews Kevin Cowdery, Randy Cowdery, Scott Meyers and Steven Meyers; and niece Cathy Cowdery survive him.
His father Harold and mother Ida preceded him in death.

Beverly Gagnon
A private family service will be held for Beverly J. Gagnon, 70, who passed away Sept. 20 in Las Vegas.
She was born Oct. 31, 1934 in Indiana. She moved to Pahrump two-and-a-half years ago from California, where she worked as a hospital administrator.
Her daughters Patti Zenna and Debbie Page; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren survive her.
Her husband Leo Gagnon preceded her in death.

James Stevens
No services will be held for James (Jim) A. Stevens, who passed away Sept. 26 in Pahrump.
He was born March 26, 1929 in Bisbee, Ariz., and lived in Southern Nevada for 48 years.
His wife Georgie; daughter Nancy (Mike) Nolen of Henderson; son John (Diana) of Pahrump; brother Charles (Nora) of Pahrump; sisters Ruth (Roger) Reese and Betty of Bisbee, Ariz.; granddaughters Michelle of Virginia and Qiana of Pahrump; and six great-grandchildren survive him.

Viyella Henderson
Services for Viyella Ophelia Henderson, 32, who passed away Sept. 25 in Pahrump, will be held at 9 a.m. today at Grandview cemetery, 5441 S. Vicki Ann Road.
She was born Oct. 12, 1972 in New Haven, Conn. She moved to Nevada one year and eight months ago from Connecticut.
She was an account executive with SBC and a member of the M.S. Society.
Her mother Florence Henderson of Pahrump; father Monroe Henderson of Georgia; brothers Ryan Henderson of Pahrump and Eric Henderson of California; and sisters Vonzel Henderson and Vondel Henderson, both of Georgia, survive her.
Her grandmother and brother Tony Henderson preceded her in death.

Alex Hampton
No services will be held for Alex Hampton Jr., 84, who passed away Sept. 24 in Las Vegas.
He was born Oct. 4, 1920 in Illinois. He moved to Pahrump in 2004 from St. Louis, Mo.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and earned a Purple Heart. Most recently, he was a public storage manager, a member of the American Legion and liked woodworking.
His wife Darlene of Pahrump; daughter Cynthia Hunsinger of Illinois; sisters Loretta Wiley and Edna Pounders, both of Illinois; brother Louis Hampton of Illinois; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren survive him.
His parents, three sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.

Joanne Mayfield
A viewing for Joanne Jeannette Mayfield, 74, who passed away Sept. 30 in Pahrump, will be held from 2-4 p.m. today at Pahrump Family Mortuary.
She was born Sept. 25, 1931 in Ohio. A resident of Pahrump since 1996, she supported the Pahrump museum.
Her husband Paul Mayfield of Pahrump; son David Mayfield of Northridge, Calif.; daughter Debbie Perea of Pahrump; brother Bill McCollum of California; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren survive her.

Maurine Vaughan
A private family service will be held for Maurine M. Vaughan, 84, who passed away Sept. 28 in Las Vegas.
She was born July 21, 1921 in Missouri. She moved to Nevada 30 years ago from California. She was a self-employed broker and a member of the Women's Auxiliary.
Her sons Bill Vaughan of Pahrump and Dan Vaughan of California; daughter Paula Floto of California; and six grandchildren survive her.
Her husband H. T. Vaughan preceded her in death.

Helen Davidson
No services will be held for Helen M. Davidson, 76, who passed away Oct. 2 in Las Vegas.
She was born Sept. 8, 1929 in Exeter, Mo. A Nevada resident since 1953, she was a homemaker in Henderson.
Her daughter Barbara S. Deck of Henderson; brothers George England of Wheaton, Mo. and Lamoine England of Exeter; and three grandchildren survive her.

Arnold Benedict
Services for Arnold Eugene Benedict, 78, who passed away Sept. 28 in Las Vegas, were held at noon Oct. 3 at Neptune Society Chapel in Pahrump.
He was born June 18, 1927 in Emporia, Kan. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked as a torsion man (spring manufacturing).
His wife Betty of Pahrump survives him.
