William Allison

Private family services were held for William Foye Allison, 68, who passed away Jan. 31 in Pahrump.

He was born Aug. 2, 1937 in Long Beach, Calif. He was a 39-year resident of Pahrump, coming from Westminster, Calif.

He worked as an engineer and retired from the Nevada Test Site in 1996.

His wife Donna Allison of Pahrump; sons Ron (Sherry) Allison and Tim (Cindy) Allison, both of Pahrump; daughters Lynn (Lonnie) Light and Melissa (James) Chandler, both of Pahrump; and nine grandchildren survive him.

His parents Foye Allison and Vera Allison-Caswell preceded him in death.

Donations in lieu of flowers may be made in his memory to Nathan Adelson Hospice.

Patrick Dalton

Services are pending for Patrick Joseph Dalton, 39, who passed away Jan. 31 in Pahrump.

He was born Nov. 27, 1966 in Nevada. He was a 10-year resident of Pahrump, coming from Las Vegas.

He worked in construction and was a loving father and husband.

His wife Kimberly Dalton; children Taryn, Lauren, Terrence, Alexandra and Kylee; and parents Tim and Lynn Dalton survive him.

His sister Jennifer Dalton preceded him in death.

Neptune Society of Nye County handled the arrangements. (01/31/06)

Willard Hunter

A memorial service for Willard Earl Hunter, 83, who passed away Jan. 29 in Pahrump, will be held at 1 p.m. Feb. 11 at the Neptune Society chapel.

He was born Aug. 18, 1922 in Arkansas. He was a 37-year resident of Pahrump, coming from Bakersfield, Calif.

He worked as a farmer and enjoyed life.

His sons Gary and Randy; grandchildren Justin, Aaron, Brandon and Caitlin; and sister Hazel survive him.

Neptune Society of Nye County handled the arrangements. (01/29/06)

Patricia Reid

Services for Patricia Carroll Reid, who passed away Jan. 25 after a courageous battle from complications associated with cancer, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Palm Mortuary, located at 7600 S. Eastern in Las Vegas.

She was born and raised in Buffalo, N.Y.

Owner and broker of Buffalo Realty for nearly three decades, she was named Clark County Business Woman of the Year in 1992.

Her daughters Deborah Martinez and Brenda (Gene) Frandsen-Porter; grandsons Jason and Christopher Martinez and Weston M. Porter, all of Las Vegas; and beloved dog Precious Lily survive her.

Her parents Weston and Adele Carroll preceded her in death.

Donations in lieu of flowers may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society or the local Humane Society. (01/25/06)

William Grothman

Private family services were held for William "Bill" Grothman, 69, who passed away Jan. 1 in Pahrump.

He was born in Chicago, Ill., and served in the U.S. Navy. He was a 15-year resident of Pahrump.

Janet Seigman

Private services will be held for Janet R. Remley Seigman, 69, who passed away Jan. 21 in Pahrump.

She was born Dec. 15, 1936 in Springfield, Ohio. She was an 8-year resident of Pahrump, coming from Canal Fulton, Ohio.

She worked as an accountant and retired in 1987.

Her grandchildren Jesse L. Mennealy and Lacy Lacroix, both of Pahrump; great granddaughter Leah A. Mennealy of Pahrump; sisters Helen Street and Patty Roberts, both of Florida; and brother Bill Remley of Ohio survive her.

Her husband John C. Seigman preceded her in death.

Joan Gorman

A celebration of life Mass for Joan Marie Gorman, 51, who passed away Jan. 14, will be held at 8:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Valley Roman Catholic Church.

She was born Feb. 12, 1954 in Joliet, Ill.

She worked in the family business and graduated from California State University in Sacramento, Calif. She worked in Las Vegas and Pahrump as a home health care nurse, specializing in wound care for 20 years. She loved gambling at casinos, planting flowers and trees and playing with her dog, Duchess. She recently moved to Westfield, Maine.

Her son James; brothers John (Judy), Patrick and David (Cecilla); sister Jean (Juan) Espino; nephews John, Scott and David; nieces Dawn, Debbie, Christine and Diana; and numerous great nephews and nieces survive her.

Her daughter Jenny and her parents Maurice and Rita Gorman preceded her in death.

Many friends and family, who will love and miss her always, will remember her. (01/14/06)

V. Don Chiodo

Services were held for V. Don Chiodo, 78, who passed away Jan. 13 in Las Vegas.

He was born July 19, 1927 in Osceola, Iowa, to Vincent and Ethel "Pettit" Chiodo. He was a resident of Pahrump since 1999, coming from Eagle River, Alaska, where he lived since 1974.

At age 14, he was a branch manager for the Des Moines Register-Tribune newspaper, an accomplishment he took great pride in. He later attended Utah State University and served four years in the U.S. Army as a Ranger. He was called back into service during the Korean War.

He married Donna Chatelain on May 22, 1948 in Tremonton, Utah, and worked for many years at the Bear River Telephone Company. He was also a volunteer fireman, was active in many civic activities and took pride in working in his yard and growing prize-winning vegetables.

He left a grand legacy for his family and friends. He will be missed.

His wife Donna of Pahrump; brother Gene Chiodo of Effingham, Ill.; sister Mary Anne VandeMyle of Ogden, Utah; daughter Nancee (Mike) Thurston of Eagle River; sons Rick (Joyce) Chiodo, Kim Chiodo of Las Vegas and Danny (Debra) Chiodo of Pahrump; 10 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren survive him.

He was laid to rest at Hickerson cemetery in Homer, Alaska. (01/13/06)

Frank Woodworth

Private services will be held for Frank "Woody" J. Woodworth, 80, who passed away March 21 in Durango, Colo.

He was born Dec. 7, 1925 in Chicago, Ill. He was a 35-year resident of Pahrump.

He served in the U.S. Army and was a World War II and Korean War veteran. He worked for the Nye County Sheriff's Office as a radio dispatcher for 10 years and worked at Floyd's Ace Hardware as a greeter for 14 years. He also worked as a bus driver.

He was a charter and life member of VFW Post No. 10054, a life member of D.A.V. Chapter No. 15 and a past governor of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 808.

His son Glen Woodworth of Pahrump; daughters Hattie Smyth of Las Vegas, Judy Durnen of Durango and Winnonah Birch of Grants Pass, Ore.; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren survive him.

His wife Sally and son David Woodworth preceded him in death. (03/21/06)

Marilyn Shoemaker

Services for Marilyn Shoemaker, 70, who passed away March 20 after a battle with cancer, will be held at Glen Haven in California.

She was born June 6, 1935. She was a Pahrump resident since 1990, coming from Sun Valley, Calif.

She worked at the Cotton Pickin' with her daughter and then for the Saddle West Hotel and Casino until her retirement in 1996.

She enjoyed camping, fishing and reading, but her favorite time was spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren; she would never be seen without one of them with her. Everyone who knew her knew her as "Granny."

Her daughter Debi said she "was the most caring, loving and giving woman, who would give and do without to help someone. The simplest things in life gave her the happiest times.

"I know I'm going to deeply miss my mom. She was not only my mother, but my best friend. Like her great grandson Timothy said, 'She's with the princesses and Jesus.' I love you mom and miss you."

Her daughters Debi (Rick) Huntsucker, Julie (Dave) Bott and Barbara (Curt) Gray; son Ken (Missy) Davis; grandchildren Leslie and Heath Paschal, Teri, Sheri, Keri and J.R., Josh, Jeremy and Zachery; great grandchildren Timothy (Popo), Ezra (Ezzie), Corina (Corey, Amanda, Marissa, Alex, Brandon, C.J., Shawna, Corey, D.J., Dustin, Heather, Noah, James, Chase and Cassidy; and sisters Criss (Dutch) Van Wey and Carol (John) Williams survive her. Gerald Hansen

Services for Gerald L. Hansen, 76, who passed away April 3 in Pahrump, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pahrump Family Mortuary.

He was born March 31, 1930 in Salinas, Calif. He was a 16-year resident of Pahrump, coming from San Diego, Calif.

He served in the U.S. Army for 18 months in Korea and was discharged as a corporal. He was later self-employed as an auto painter and retired in 1990.

He was a past Commodore (1972) of San Diego Mission Bay Boat and Ski Club and was a lifetime VFW member since 1986. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and customizing and restoring classic cars.

He was also a loving husband and father and was adored by his grandchildren. He was always there to help anyone.

His wife Dorothy Hansen of Pahrump; daughters Debbie (Steve) Burnham of Springfield, Va., Kim (Greg) Naour of Santee, Calif., and Stacy (Kent) Gallegos of Encinitas, Calif.; sister Beverly J. Murphy of Chula Vista, Calif.; and nine grandchildren survive him.

His parents Harry and Irene Hansen and son Jeffery preceded him in death. (04/31/06)
