Dianne Lind

Services for Dianne Lind, 56, who passed away June 5, 2006 in Crystal, were held June 15 at the Church of Christ in Anaheim, Calif.

She was born Jan. 19, 1950 in Cleveland, Ohio. She was a nine-year resident of Southern Nevada, coming from California.

She worked on Pueblo pottery and retired in January, 2006.

Her sons Bill and Timothy Lind; daughter Lori Lind; and grandchildren Mariah, Ashley and Taylor survive her.

Her parents and grandson preceded her in death.

Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice.

Sharon Deegan

Services for Sharon Lee Deegan, 70, who passed away June 10, 2006 in Las Vegas, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the LDS Church in Pahrump.

She was born Jan. 28, 1936 in Salmon, Idaho. She was a nine-year resident of Pahrump, coming from Florida.

Her husband John F.X. Deegan of Pahrump; sons Gary Parmenter of Pahrump; Michael Parmenter of Jonesboro, Ark, and Randy Parmenter of Chicago, Ill; daughters Kat Deegan of Stuart, Fla., and Carol Rose Deegan of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; brothers Lyle Jardine of Las Vegas and Dale Jardine of Seattle, Wash; four grandchildren; and five great grandchildren survive her.

Her parents Glenn and Roberta Jardine and brothers Kenneth Jardine and Don Jardine preceded her in death.

Lillian Renner

Services for Lillian Renner, who passed away June 11, 2006, will be held at 2:30 p.m. June 25 at Hilltop Christian Church in Beatty.

She was born Feb. 4, 1923. She was a 28-year resident of Pahrump, coming from Las Vegas.

She was a member of the Episcopalian Church in Beatty.

Her daughters Susan Neitzel of Missouri, Carrie Prosser of Beatty and Allison Henderson of Beatty; 12 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; Eddie Cumming and Pearl Decarr survive her.

Her husband Gene Renner preceded her in death.

Dale Corley Jr.

Dale Corley Jr., a 19-year resident of Pahrump, passed away June 11, 2006.

He was born Sept. 24, 1931.

His partner of 43 years Dorothy Bartkovich; daughter Judy; brothers Gene Corley and Ricky Barstow, nephews Gene (Connie) Corley Jr., of Dayton, Calif., and Ricky Corley of Washington; Joseph and Maxine Bartkovich; and three great grandchildren survive him.

Calvin Stomner

Services for Calvin O. Stomner, 70, who passed away June 14 in Las Vegas, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of the Valley and a visitation will be held from 4-9 p.m. today.

He was born Feb. 20, 1936 in New Chester, Wis. He was a 7-year resident of Pahrump, coming from Henderson.

He served in the U.S. Marines for three years.

His wife Diana K. Stomner of Pahrump; son John O. Stomner of Redmond, Ore.; daughter Bonnie K. Stomner of Huntley, Ill.; brother Wayne Stomner of El,mhurst, Ill.; and four grandchildren survive him.

His parents Arthur and Hazel Stomner and son Larry Wayne Stomner preceded him in death.

John McCaw

John W. McCaw, 50, of Boulder City, formerly of Beaver, Pa., died suddenly on July 16, 2006.

He was the beloved husband of Rochelle, father of John and Christopher, stepfather of Jesse Torres, and Shayna, Suhmer and Adam Zeiter, stepgrandfather of Jasmine and Breaden Zeiter, brother of Janet Nolder and Jim (Janet) McCaw. Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Adam and Abigail Nolder, and Joseph and Jennifer McCaw and mother and father-in-law Vernon and Donna Chism.

He was preceded in death by parents John and Margaret McCaw. John graduated from Beaver Area High School in 1974 and was a steelworker in Pennsylvania, before coming to Las Vegas in 1981. He became a self-made successful businessman, first in Las Vegas, and then Pahrump. He was the current owner of Mountain View Casino in Pahrump. John loved his Pittsburgh Pirates through good times and bad. He spent March 2006 in Bradenton Fla., to watch Pirates spring training and was joined by family and friends to celebrate his fiftieth birthday. An avid music lover, John would round up friends and family and attend every Paul McCartney and Rolling Stones concert possible, in various parts of the country. John was a very generous man and never turned his back on someone in need. He will be sadly missed. A prayer service will be held at Palm West Mortuary 1600 S. Jones Las Vegas today at 2:15 p.m. Plans for a memorial service in Pahrump will be announced at a later date. At the family's request, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Dr. Alan Saven, M.D., director of the Scripps Cancer Center Scripps Clinic - Torrey Pines 10666 N. Torrey Pines Rd. Jimmy Babcock

Private family services will be held for Jimmy Ray Babcock, 67, who passed away July 16, 2006 at his home.

He was born Feb. 4, 1939 in Los Angeles, Calif. He was a resident of Pahrump since 2001.

His life accomplishments include the U.S. Navy, underwater demolition specialist, honorable discharge 1957; movie stuntman, 1958-1978, including stuntman trainer/instructor for the Crash Corriganville Movie Ranch; induction into the Hollywood Stuntmen Hall of Fame, June 1993; and a volunteer at the Heaven on Earth Ranch for Handicapped Children, 1981-1999.

Jimmy is survived by wife Zee Babcock; siblings Fred Babcock, Ted Babcock, Joy Manson and Jay Caplan; children Connie LaMoureux, Jimmy Babcock Warren Jr., Craig Charlton, Lisa Romar, Tray Charlton, Daren Charlton, Lynn Price and Jimmy Lee Babcock; 21 grandchildren; and beloved pets Precious and Renegade.

His parents Hazel and Chester Babcock, along with brother and best friend Monty Laird preceded him in death.

His wife Zee said, "I will miss you as my companion, best friend and partner. With all my love, your wife."

The family would like to thank Nathan Adelson Hospice for the amazing comfort they provided in Jimmy's final days.

Charles "Chuck" Maloney

Services for Charles "Chuck" D. Maloney, 63, of Sandy Valley, who passed away July 17, 2006 in the home of the mother of his children in Poplar Grove, Ill., will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Buck-WHeeler-Hyland Funeral Home, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., in Illinois, with a visitation from 9-10:30 at the funeral home.

He was born March 6, 1943 in Seattle, Wash., the son of Charles Henry and Maebelle (Hubbard) Maloney.

He married Grace Miller in Nevada Nov. 1, 1988. He was a meat cutter at Smith Co. in Pahrump. He was a member of the Christian faith and U.F.C.W. local 711.

He had a laid-back nature, a smile on his face and a project going. He had a love for vacations and building things and in his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking.

His wife Grace; children Chuck (Teresa) Maloney of Roscoe, Ill., Roy (Romona) Maloney of Belvidere, Ill., and Patty (Rick) Heath of Arrowsmith, Ill.; grandsons Shane, Gage Gwaltney and Brandon Heath; granddaughters Brooke Gwaltney, Tonya, Jordan, Rileyann, Ally, Katie and Halie; mother of his children Marcell "Chip" Thurnau; and Tracy Seele survive him.

His parents preceded him in death.

Florence Durham

Services for Florence Durham, who passed away July 14, 2006 at her home in Lone Pine, Calif., will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Mt. Whitney District cemetery in Lone Pine.

She was born June 3, 1933 in New Jersey to Warren Everingham and Arbutus LaCoump-Everingham.

She grew up in Bridgeton, N.J., and worked at the Wheatons & Armstrong bottling plants before moving to the California/Nevada area. She lived in Las Vegas prior to moving to Death Valley, Calif., where she worked for 20 years at the Furnace Creek Ranch & Inn. She spent the last 12 years of her life in the Owens Valley area.

Her sons Steven Durham of Lone Pine and Jay Durham of Tacoma, Wash.; grandchildren Melissa Bright, Tera Barlow and DeShawn Esteves; several great grandchildren; sisters Beatrice Morris of New Jersey and Ethel Everingham of Indiana; and her twin brother Neil Everingham of New Jersey survive her.

Her sisters Lizbeth Hemple and Noami Billings and brother Warren Everingham preceded her in death. (07/14/06)

Larry Snow

Larry W. Snow, 58, passed away July 13, 2006 at his residence in Pahrump.

He was born Feb. 17, 1948 in Pueblo, Colo. He spent his childhood in Pueblo and Colorado Springs, Colo. He attended school in Widefield and Security, Colo., graduating with the class of 1967. He resided in Pahrump the last few years.

He served his country in the U.S. Marines from 1968 to 1974. He was later a roofer in the construction business. He enjoyed being with his friends and having a good time.

Those grateful to have shared in Larry's life include his father Alvin Snow of Texas; sister Darlene Spears of Pineville, La.; and grandmother Elsie Curtis of Eckert, Colo.

His mother, Florence Young, preceded him in death.

Clark Crocker

Services for Clark Hamilton Crocker, 86, who died Nov. 13, 2006, in Pahrump, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the LDS Church.

He was born March 17, 1920, in Westfield, Mass. He was a 36-year resident of Pahrump.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and later worked as a school teacher. He was also a Pahrump firefighter, who brought the first weather report and RJ to the Pahrump Valley.

His wife Cheryl Crocker; son Jerry Crocker; granddaughters Tami and Nicole, both of Las Vegas; and brother Bob Crocker survive him.
