Harvey Leider
Harvey N. Leider, 83, passed away Feb. 13 in Las Vegas.
He was born Dec. 3, 1922 in Conrath, Wis.
He was a World War II veteran. He spent his life as a mechanical engineer, working in the plastics industry.
His wife Caroline of Pahrump; sister Alice Welk of West Allis, Wis.; cousin Shirley Brunt of Milwaukee, Wis.; children Clifford of Chimscum, Wash., and Leslie of Eden Prairie, Minn.; stepchildren Chuck Dotson of Reno, Rick Dotson of Fullerton, Calif., and Tami (David) Henson of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren survive him.
His parents Matthias Leider and Catherine Krouse and sister Jeanette preceded him in death.

'Jenny' Knight
Services for "Jenny" Lee Sowards Knight, 87, who passed away Feb. 14, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at First Southern Baptist Church in Pahrump, with a visitation at 2 p.m.
She was born Feb. 9, 1919 in Merino, Colo. She was a nine-year resident of Pahrump.
Her daughters Judy (Roger) Shelton and Linda Knight, both of Pahrump; brothers Sam Sowards and Don (Irene) Sowards, both of Lisbon, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild survive her.
Her husband Leonard "Monk" Knight; parents Robert and Faye Sowards; son Richard "Rick" Knight; brothers Lou and Ernest Sowards; and great granddaughter Emma Victoria Shelton preceded her in death.
Graveside services will be held at Fort Rosecrans National cemetery in Point Loma, Calif.

Edna Cole
Services for Edna Cole, 88, who passed away Feb. 9 in Las Vegas, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Faith Community Church in Tecopa, Calif.
She was born Aug. 4, 1917 in Yale, Iowa. She was a two-year resident of Las Vegas.
Her sons Ernest Cole of Puyallup, Wash., Vernon Cole of Port Orchard, Wash., and Edward Cole of Tacoma, Wash.; daughter Irene Swango of Liberty, Ind.; brother Leslie Imler of Houston; 10 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren survive her.

Jose Castellanos
Services for Jose Reynaldo Castellanos, 61, who passed away Feb. 11, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, with interment to follow at Grandview cemetery.
He was born Aug. 4, 1944. He was a six-month resident of Pahrump, coming from California.
He worked as a machinist.
His wife Ana Maria Castellanos of Pahrump; son Martin Castellanos of Pahrump; sister Aura Castellanos of California; brother Amado Castellanos of California; Abigail Castellanos, Loyda Castellanos and Marina Castellanos, all of Guatemala; and three grandchildren survive him.
His parents and one sister preceded him in death.

Anna Mignacca
Private family services were held for Anna C. Mignacca, 84, who passed away Feb. 13 in Pahrump.
She was born Aug. 1, 1921 in New York City. She was a 4-year resident of Pahrump.
Her husband Joseph "JKL" Mignacca of Pahrump; son Joseph Mignacca Jr. of Pitts, Pa.; and three grandchildren survive her.
Her parents and one sister preceded her in death.

Susan Talbert
Services for Susan J. Talbert, 62, who passed away March 3 in Las Vegas, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Neptune Society of Nye County on 720 Buol Lane.
She was born Jan. 21, 1944 in Phoenix. She has lived in Southern Nevada since 1950. She was a 28-year resident of Pahrump, coming from Las Vegas.
She earned a Master's degree at UNLV and was a schoolteacher until 1979. Since 1980, she was a local business owner. She owned Talbert's Garden Center, a local plant and landscaping business, for over 14 years. Then she opened Talbert's Wholesale Nursery, which she owned for 12 years. In addition, she was a talented artist in painting and stained glass and was an intuitive professional astrologer.
She was also active in the community. She was a secretary for the Chamber of Commerce; an early hospital board member; and was involved with the children's parade and rodeo and parade concessions for the Harvest Festival.
Her husband Matt Talbert of Pahrump; daughters Jennifer (Phil) Greene of Pahrump and Beth (Mike) Smith of Utah; brother Robert Stevens of Vincennes, Ind.; and grandchildren Autumn and Tyler Greene and Ciarra, Brandon and Ben Smith, all of Pahrump, survive her.
Her parents Nelson and Ruth Gaskins preceded her in death.

James Simpson
Services are pending for James G. Simpson, 40, who passed away Jan. 26 in Las Vegas.
He was born May 21, 1965 in Las Vegas. He was raised in Tecopa, Calif., and Pahrump.
His wife Rena Simpson; daughters Jennifer Simpson of California and Krystle Simpson of Oregon; son James Simpson Jr. of Pahrump; stepson Jeremy Baumeister of Pahrump; parents Beth and Charles Veillon and Gardner Simpson; sisters Liz Selph and Evelyn Wolfe and brother Daniel Simpson survive him.
His grandparents Lynn and Evelyn Ishmael and aunts Mary Stevens and Margie Burton preceded him in death.

LeRoy Mannor
Services for LeRoy G. Mannor, 75, who passed away March 1, will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of the Valley.
He was born Oct. 30, 1930.
He entered the U.S. Navy at age 17. He served during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He retired from the Navy as a Chief Yeoman in 1967.
In 1978 he started in law enforcement, working as a corrections officer at Snohomish County Jail, in Everett, Wash., and advancing to major as administrative officer. He was later the jail superintendent at Grays Harbor County in Montesano, Wash., and retired in 1994.
His wife Sharon of Pahrump; daughters Cherie (Richard) Stockwell, Brenda Mannor and Lori (Mac) McLaughlin; sons James (Hedi) Mannor and LeRoy (Stormy) Mannor Jr.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and four brothers survive him.
His parents, one brother and two sisters preceded him in death.
A remembrance service will also be held at about 10:30 a.m. at the Mannor home following services at Our Lady of the Valley.

Hazel McLaughlin
Private services will be held for Hazel McLaughlin, 92, who passed away March 4 in Pahrump.
She was born April 24, 1913 in Bronx, N.Y. She was a 16-year resident of Pahrump, coming from Winter Park, Fla.
Her son Doug (Sande) McLaughlin of Sparks; daughter Joanne (Alfred) DeNise of Pineville, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren survive her.
Her parents Chester Waite and Sarah LaPlante Waite; husband Joseph McLaughlin; and daughter Hazel Bandazian preceded her in death.

Thomas Zucchero
Services were held Sunday for Thomas Zucchero, 45, who passed away March 8 in Pahrump.
He was born June 6, 1960 in New York. He was an eight-year resident of Pahrump.
He was self-employed in the construction industry.
His daughter Angela Zucchero of California; son Thomas Zucchero of California; parents Thomas and Catherine Zucchero of Pahrump; brother Vincent Zucchero of California; and two grandchildren survive him.

Marjorie Prutsman
Services for Marjorie Prutsman, 84, who passed away March 10 in Pahrump, will be held in Burbank, Calif., with interment at the Veterans cemetery in Riverside, Calif.
She was born June 16, 1921 in Youngstown, Ohio. She was a two-year resident of Pahrump, coming from Sun Valley, Calif., where she lived for 54 years.
Her son Gary (Laura) Prutsman of San Clemente, Calif.; daughter Kathi (Denis) Morissette of Pahrump; five grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren survive her.
