Ronald Coleman
Services are pending for Ronald Arvid Coleman, 71, who passed away Dec. 25, following a traffic accident.
He was born April 17, 1934 in Butte, Mont.
He drove a taxi in Las Vegas for many years before moving to Pahrump, where he worked for Pahrump Valley Taxi.
Singing and the many animals he worked tirelessly to care for were his greatest passions. The many caring friends he made wherever he went will miss his big heart and gentle ways.
His son Ronald Coleman; sisters Audrey Bukema, Betty Coleman and Dolores (Lowell) Mallon; and numerous nieces and nephews survive him.

Alexander Maxwell
Services for Alexander C. Maxwell, 84, who passed away Dec. 24 in Las Vegas, will be held at 4 p.m. today at the Community Church.
He was born Jan. 19, 1921 in Eugene, Ore. He was a 17-year resident of Nevada, coming from Oregon.
He served in the U.S. Navy and later worked as a salesman.
His wife Myrtle Maxwell of Pahrump; sons James (Faye) Maxwell of Texas and Daniel (Cathey) Maxwell of Washington; and daughter Carolyn (Charles) Edwards of Texas survive him.

Winston Perez
Private family services will be held for Winston Churchill Perez, 7, who passed away Jan. 3 in Pahrump.
He was born Feb. 11, 1998 in Las Vegas.
He touched many lives. He will always be remembered and missed.

Jerry Boldt
Private services will be held for Jerry S. Boldt, 56, who passed away Jan. 3 in Las Vegas.
He was born May 23, 1949 in Canon City, Colo. He was a resident of Pahrump.
He was a livestock owner and operator.
His wife Mary Boldt of Pahrump; sons Jimmy Atencio of Pahrump and Jerry Boldt of Canon City; daughters Susan Kirk of Pahrump and Shana Varner of Canon City; six grandchildren; and one great grandchild survive him.

Jack Funke
Private family services will be held for Jack Michael Funke, 72, who passed away Dec. 29 in Pahrump.
He was born Dec. 9, 1933 in Detroit, Mich. He was a 4 and-a-half-year resident of Pahrump, coming from Las Vegas.
He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran and an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He also managed Little League baseball for many years.
His wife of 29 years Marianne Funke of Pahrump; daughter Valerie (Mike) of Denver, Colo.; son Tom (Nanette) Funke of Detroit; and four grandchildren survive him.
Granddaughter Katie preceded him in death.

Kelcy Thompson
Services for Kelcy Louise Thompson, 56, who passed away Jan. 20 in Pahrump, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Francis Xavier Church in Seward, Kan.
She was born Nov. 22, 1949 in Great Bend, Kan. She was a 6-year resident of Pahrump, coming from Utah.
She held a Master's degree in business administration and worked as a college administrator with the Community College of Southern Nevada. She was also secretary for the Pahrump Valley Chamber of Commerce board of directors; a member of Phi Kappa Phi and Our Lady of the Valley Roman Catholic Church. She was also involved with numerous Nye County community organizations.
She was a devoted mother, passionate businesswoman and an endearing friend to all who knew her.
Her daughter Polly Neal Logan Sierra of Pahrump; parents Carol L. Keenan Thompson and Melvin D. Thompson, both of Arlington, Kan.; brothers Daniel (Kay) Thompson of Radium, Kan., Kim (Joy) Thompson of Topeka, Kan., Randall (Rita) Thompson of Kingman, Kan., and Kevin (Claudia) Thompson of Wichita, Kan.; sisters Krystl Thompson of Fort Worth, Texas, Karml (Randy) Blumanhourst of Lyons, Kan., and Kandi Smith of Fort Worth; and special friend Monty Fisher of Nevada survive her.
Her grandparents Tom and Martha Keena, and Ed and Katherine "Kitch" Thompson; nephew Justin Thompson; niece Kara Hogan; and brother-in-law Michael K. Smith preceded her in death.

Deyampert Hughes
Services for Deyampert Hughes, 82, who passed away Jan. 26 in Las Vegas, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Pahrump Family Mortuary; with a viewing from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the mortuary; and burial at 1:20 p.m. Monday at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial cemetery in Boulder City.
He was born June 27, 1923 in Macon, Miss. He was a 9-year resident of Pahrump, coming from San Diego, Calif.
He served in the U.S. Navy for 35 years and worked as a commissary man. He retired from the Navy as a chief petty officer in 1975. He was a member of Church of the Harvest.
His wife Ruby L. Hughes of Pahrump; daughters Beverly Hughes of San Jose, Calif., Anita Hughes of Chicago, Ill., and Kari H. Pruitt of Newport News, Va.; sons Virgil Hughes of California, Deyampert Hughes Jr., of Chicago and Brian D. Hughes of Rutland, Vt.; eight grandchildren; and five great grandchildren survive him.

Patricia Reid
Services for Patricia Carroll Reid, who passed away Jan. 25 after a courageous battle from complications associated with cancer, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Palm Mortuary, located at 7600 S. Eastern in Las Vegas.
She was born and raised in Buffalo, N.Y.
Owner and broker of Buffalo Realty for nearly three decades, she was named Clark County Business Woman of the Year in 1992.
Her daughters Deborah Martinez and Brenda (Gene) Frandsen-Porter; grandsons Jason and Christopher Martinez and Weston M. Porter, all of Las Vegas; and beloved dog Precious Lily survive her.
Her parents Weston and Adele Carroll preceded her in death.

Shirley Walker
Services for Shirley Nadine Walker, 78, who passed away Jan. 24 in Las Vegas, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Bunker Mortuary in Las Vegas, located at 925 Las Vegas Blvd.
She was born Oct. 10, 1927 in Las Vegas. She was a 12-year resident of Pahrump.
She worked as a secretary and retired from Teamster's No. 995.
Her sons Greg Mulvey of San Diego, Calif., and Brian Mulvey of Pahrump; and four grandchildren survive her.
Her parents Thomas Pickett and Eloda Lynch preceded her in death. (01/24/06)
Richard Laverty
Services are pending for Richard "Dick" Laverty, 78, who passed away Jan. 18 in Las Vegas.
He was born Sept. 13, 1927 in Lincoln, Neb. He was a Pahrump resident since 1980.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War on submarines in the Pacific. He later worked in construction for the Bureau of Reclamation and as an engineer for the Corps of Engineers. He was a past commander of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter No. 15 and was a member of American Legion Post No. 100. He retired in 1992 from the Nevada Test Site.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be missed very much.
His wife of 54 years Irene; sons Richard (Betty) Laverty of Bremerton, Wash., Paul Laverty of Pahrump and Thomas Laverty of Maryland; daughter Patricia Laverty of Lewiston, Idaho; brothers Robert (Toni) Laverty of Scottsbluff, Neb., and John (Mary) Laverty of Rapid City, S.D.; sister Marge Laverty of Scottsbluff; 11 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren survive him.
His son, parents and brother preceded him in death.

David Booth
Private services will be held for David A. "Gus" Booth, 72, who passed away Dec. 30, in Las Vegas.
He was born to James H. and Ruth Dedrick Booth on March 5, 1933 in Fall River, Mass.
He was educated in Fall River schools and left to enlist in the U.S. Navy at age 17. Subsequent to his Navy service, he joined the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at several bases in the United States and Japan. He retired from the Air Force after 18 years of service with the rank of technical sergeant.
He then worked for the City of North Las Vegas, where he was employed for 24 years. After he retired from this job, he relocated to Pahrump in 1996.
His sister Caroline (Anthony) Reagan-Rogers of Connecticut; nephew Brian (Lisa) J. Reagan of Connecticut; niece Maureen R. Reagan of Connecticut; and best friend of 40 years and brother of his heart Ron Gregerson survive him.
He was an enthusiastic and accomplished bowler, a dedicated fisherman and a nature and animal lover. Known for his wonderful sense of humor, he was also a kind, honest, loyal and good-natured human being.
The family says: "Farewell, Dear One, until we meet again. May the angels guide you swiftly to paradise."
Friends are invited to donate to a Humane Society of their choice as a memorial to "Gus."
