Marianne Fitzgerald

Marianne Fitzgerald passed away peacefully on Monday, April 5, 2004. She had many friends and loved ones who will miss her dearly.

She was born in Palmdale, Calif., on July 19, 1930. Her family soon moved to Alhambra, Calif., where she enjoyed the sunshine. She met and married Dan L. Kessler Sr. and they moved to Nevada in the l950s and began raising a family. She and Dan divorced in 1966. She later married Lloyd A. Fitzgerald Jr. in March of 1967. Together they owned and operated the Brandin' Iron Lounge in Elko for many years.

Surviving her are her children, Dan L. Kessler Jr. (wife, Nancy) of Heath, Texas, Mike Kessler (wife, Shirley) of Spring Creek, Nev., and Lisa Pearson (husband, Larry) also of Spring Creek. Her sister, Dorothy Hase (husband, Al) of Murrieta, Calif., also survives Marianne along with numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Loved ones who have preceded her in death include Dan Kessler Sr.; Lloyd Fitzgerald Jr.; a brother, Paul Wood; and a sister, Margaret Bean.

Marianne wished to have no services held in hopes of easing the sadness. The family hopes friends will remember the good times.

Every end is a new beginning. Try not to remember only what you have lost, but what you still have left.

Maynard Swinton Wright

Maynard S. Wright, best known as "Mike" Wright, 84, of Spring Creek, passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2004, after a brief illness. Any who knew him will remember him for his devotion to his family and friends.

Mike was born to Michael Leonard Wright and Edna Lee McMurray on Jan. 23, 1920, in St. Petersburg, Fla. Mike began his working life at an early age hauling ice and later working at U.S. Potash in Carlsbad, N.M. He entered the U.S. Army in 1941 and served in World War II in the European theater on bridging crews with the Army Corps of Engineers. After the war, he attended Mississippi State University and Michigan State University where he received his master of science in forestry. While at Michigan State, he met and married Marjorie Evelyn Curdy on March 20, 1947.

Mike then spent the next 33 years with the U.S. Forest Service in Utah and Idaho, beginning as a district ranger, ending his career as range staff man at McCall, Idaho. While in Utah, he was one of the first ski patrol members at Alta.

He enjoyed the outdoors. Mike especially liked hunting, fishing and the long camping trips on horseback that were a part of his role with the Forest Service. He also was gifted at gardening.

Mike is survived by his sons, Michael V. Wright of Reston, Va., and James L. Wright of Spring Creek, Nev.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lee and Eleanor; a brother, Leonard; and his wife, Marjorie.

Interment will take place in Weiser, Idaho.

Jesse Bernard Jueden

Ex-resident Jesse Bernard Jueden left this world on April 1, 2004, in Rialto, Calif. Stanley L. Dickey Mortuary was in charge of the funeral arrangements. Jesse was buried with full military honors at Riverside National Cemetery on April 9, 2004.

Jesse was born on April 17, 1940, in Salem, Iowa, to Herman Henry Jueden and Elva Mae Bouge Jueden. Both parents preceded him in death.

Jesse is survived by his loving wife, Sherry; daughters, Carol and Camie; step-daughters, Cheryl, Robin and Sheena, all of

Calif.; brothers, Harold (Diana) of Canton, Ohio, Everett (Patty) of Elko, John (Peggy) of Chandler, Ariz., Ken (Sedra) of Mira Loma, Calif.; sisters, Margaret (Roger) of Gallatin, Mo., Donna Jean (Larry) of Barstow, Calif., and Delores of Pomona, Calif.; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Goodbye my loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend.

Sharlene Marie Nelson

Sharlene Marie Nelson passed away April 21, 2004, at Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital in Elko. She was born in Eureka, Nev., on May 2, 1951.

She is survived by five sons, one daughter and numerous grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Douglas E. Nelson.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She will be forever in our hearts and on our minds. We love you mom.

Services will be held at Carlin Baptist Church at 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 24, 2004. Private viewing will be followed by cremation.

John Sena

John Sena, longtime resident of Ruth/Ely, Nev. and short time resident of Spring Creek, Nev., passed away on Monday, April 26, 2004 at the age of 74.

Sena was born on March 2, 1930 in Ely, Nev. to Max and Angelina Sena. He went to work for Kennecott on the railroad crew at the age of 12 and worked his way up to Vice President of the union of the Mine Mill. He retired in 1975.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, biking, gathering pine nuts, and garnet hunting.

He is survived by his sons Michael and Ronnie Sena of Elko and Steven Sena of Spring Creek; daughter Lynn Pappas (husband Michael) of Spring Creek; sons Tim (wife Sherlie) and Greg Sena of Ely; stepchildren Terry (wife Karen) and Holly Davis (husband John) of Ruth, Nev., Roger Davis of Carson City; brother Jerry Sena (wife Cindy); sister Maxine of Las Vegas; grandchildren Kati Fadenrecht (husband Adam), Kari Johnson (husband Jeremy), Kristin Maynard (husband David), Michael Sena (wife Jennifer), Kasi Sena, Eric Sena, Brook Delange, Jeremy Sena (wife Paula), David Sena (wife Diana), Stephanie Sena, Jason Pappas (wife Heather), Angel Nicholson (husband Jeremy), Michael Pappas, Stacy Pappas; Tiffany, Amber, Kyle and Sarah Sena; Wuinton and Angelic Urrizaga; Nathan, Angel, Courtney, Magen and Jamie Davis; Jasmine and Devon Sena; great-grandchildren Karissa and Jaden Sena; Analyse Delange; Cameron, Kylee and Tyler Sena; Trevor and Candice Pappas; Christopher and Samantha Willis; Zachary and Nicholas Nicholson and more; several nieces and nephews, and his estranged wife, Cora Sena of Ely. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, brothers Bennie and Max, and six grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 30 in Elko.
