Services are pending for Robert L. Flint, 71, who passed away March 27.
He was born Aug. 23, 1934 in Nebraska. He was a one-year resident of Pahrump, coming from Nebraska.
He was self-employed in the janitorial field before retiring.
His daughters Deborah Lawson and Linda Flint of Pahrump; three grandchildren and one great grandchild survive him.
His wife Mary Flint and his parents preceded him in death.

Peter Visser
Private family services will be held for Peter Visser, 82, who passed away April 5 in Pahrump.
He was born July 9, 1923 in Germany. He was a 16-year resident of Pahrump, coming from Las Vegas.
His wife of 52 years Beatrix Visser of Pahrump; son Dieter (Jeannie) H. Visser of Las Vegas; granddaughter Dallas V. Visser of Las Vegas; and grandsons Christopher D. Visser and Corey D. Visser, both of Las Vegas survive him.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to local cancer foundations.

Russell Shoemaker
Services for Russell E. Shoemaker, 76, who passed away April 6 in Las Vegas, will be held at noon Saturday at Pahrump Family Mortuary, with a viewing from 10 a.m. to noon.
He was born April 9, 1924 in New York. He was a 10-year resident of Pahrump, coming from Kanab, Utah.
He served in the U.S. Air Force and retired as a master sergeant. He later worked at the Golden Gate Casino. He was a member of the Calvary Chapel church.
His wife Ada Jeanette Shoemaker of Pahrump; sons Charles Shoemaker of Pahrump and Roy King of Reno; daughters Stephanie Ware of Las Vegas, Susan Blackmon of Las Vegas, Lori Worrell of Las Vegas, Robbie Klarer of Pueblo, Colo., Stephanie Strickland of Reno and Melissa King of Denver, Colo.; and 12 grandchildren survive him. Barbara Roper
A memorial service for Barbara L. Roper, 56, who passed away April 6 in Pahrump, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Affordable Cremation & Burial Service in Las Vegas, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.
She was born Oct. 3, 1949 in Cuyahoga, Ohio. She was an 11-year resident of Pahrump, coming from Las Vegas.
She worked for the U.S. government until retiring in 2003. She was a member of the Moose.
Four children and seven grandchildren survive her.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to St. Jude's Ranch or to the ASPCA.

Robert Vaughan
Services for Robert Edward Vaughan, 79, who passed away Feb. 23, were held in Ohio.
He was born in Youngstown, Ohio. He grew up in Girard, Ohio, where he attended St. Rose School.
After graduating from Ursuline High School, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He earned a B.A. from Notre Dame, studied economics at Harvard and received a law degree from Georgetown University.
After nearly two decades of government service in Washington, D.C., he founded a chain of rental equipment stores in Maryland and Virginia.
His wife Susan Caruso Vaughan of Las Vegas; sons Brian Vaughan of Arlington, Va., Rob Vaughan of Honolulu, Hawaii and Brendan Vaughan of South Riding, Va.; daughters Monica Nelson of Fairfax, Va., and Maura Pellet of Washington, D.C.; brother Kenneth Vaughan of Chicago, Ill.; sister, Sister Mary Ellen Vaughan of South Bend, Ind.; 10 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; 10 stepchildren; and 12 step grandchildren survive him.
He was married

Ben Verdusco
Services are pending for Ben Verdusco, 82, who passed away April 8 in Las Vegas, due to complications following surgery.
He was a resident of Pahrump since 1992 and loved to travel with his wife Marjorie in their RV.
He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was a devoted and loving father and husband.
His wife of 61 years Marjorie, son Darrell and two grandchildren survive him.
His son Danny, a Vietnam veteran, preceded him in death. (04/08/06)
Charles Green
Charles "Charlie" Newton Green, 81, passed away March 23 in Delta, Colo. Services will be held in Delta.
He was born April 18, 1924 in Muskogee, Okla. He was a 14-year resident of Pahrump.
He served in the U.S. Army. He was a construction superintendent and owned his own heavy equipment company.
His daughters Kathleen Brundage of Delta and Nancy Silva of Pahrump; son Charles Green of Napa, Calif.; brothers Bill Green of Muskogee and Jimmy Green of Kentucky; nine grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren survive him.
His wife, son and granddaughter preceded him in death. (03/23/06)
John Payne
Services for John Dennis Payne, 59, who passed away April 9, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Palm Mortuary-Henderson, 800 S. Boulder Highway.
He was born Oct. 3, 1946 in Mount Clemens, Mich. He was a 44-year resident of Pahrump.
He was a retired bartender who worked in the hotel/casino industry.
His daughters Robin Murphy, Natalie Lillian Payne and Megin Taryn Payne, all of Las Vegas; son Jack Bret Payne of Las Vegas; sisters Nancy Carducci of Pahrump, Alice Tullgren of Henderson and Kathy Jo Pierce of Sioux City, Iowa; and granddaughter Ashliegh Murphy of Las Vegas survive him.
His sister Janet Edgar preceded him in death.
Visitations will be held from 3-7 p.m. Thursday and from 10-10:59 Friday at Palm Mortuary-Henderson. (04/09/06)

Robert Bagshaw
Services for Robert A. Bagshaw, 62, who passed away April 8 from a massive heart attack in Pahrump, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Pioneer cemetery in Overton.
He was born Dec. 9, 1944 in Overton, the "baby" of seven children. He was a 19-year resident of Pahrump.
His daughter Amanda Bagshaw of Gardiner, Ore.; sons Joseph Bagshaw of Pahrump and Robert J. Bagshaw; three sisters; and grandchildren Robbie, Sarah, Kelly, Perry, Abigail, Jasmine, Jesse and Josephine survive him. (04/08/06)
Melvin Wolfe
Services were held at the LDS Chapel in Pahrump on April 13 for Melvin Edward Wolfe, 97, who passed away April 1 in Pahrump, with interment at St. George cemetery, in St. George, Utah.
He was born Aug. 17, 1908 to Charles M. and Harriet (Scow) Wolfe near Cedar Bluffs, Neb.
In 1928, he married
Vera Hunt in Lodgepole, Neb. Four years later, he and Vera and their two oldest children moved to Wyoming to homestead near Pavilion, Wyo. He farmed and ran a repair shop there until 1951, when he moved his family of four children to Southern California. He attended electronic school and worked for Hughes Aircraft until his retirement, when he and Vera moved to Santa Clara, Utah. He then moved to Pahrump, where he was a 6-year resident.
He was active in community affairs, being a 4-H leader, Grange member and school board member for many years.
His sons Leslie (Bonnie) Wolfe of Carson City; Lynn (June) Wolfe of Brighton, Colo.; Lawrence "Larry" Wolfe of Fairbanks, Alaska and Melvin Douglas Wolfe; daughters Linda Liston of Pahrump and Lucile (Gail) Casper, Wyo.; 21 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; and 14 great-great grandchildren survive him.
His wife Vera, daughter Carol Hunn, two grandsons, one brother and one sister preceded him death.
Donations in his memory may be made to the local hospice.
