Renee Hosino

Private family services will be held for Renee L. Hosino, 52, who passed away April 24 at Valley Hospital in Las Vegas.

Formerly of Lahaina, Maui, she was born Jan. 27, 1954 in Wailaka, Hawaii. She was a resident of Pahrump for 2-and-a-half years, coming from Hawaii.

She worked as a program director.

Her husband of 35 years Dennis Hosino Sr.; daughters Rayden (Pablo) Cajudoy and Ariana Hosino, both of Pahrump; son Dennis (Kristine) Hosino Jr.; brothers Les (Pua) Okamura of Makawao, Hawaii, Darrell Okamura of Las Vegas, Keith Okamura of Paia, Hawaii, and Leeaaron (Jinny) Yap of Lahaina; and grandchildren Shayna Cajudoy, Ashley Hosino, Shelton Cajudoy, Hailey Hosino, Anikin Hosino, Shalia Cajudoy and Shanelle Cajudoy survive her.

Her parents preceded her in death.

The family will hold a small gathering May 13 in Pahrump. At a later date, her ashes will be scattered on Maui.

Zena Claiborne

Services for Zena Elizabeth Claiborne, 42, who passed away April 28 in Pahrump, will be held at 10 a.m. today at Neptune Society Chapel.

She was born Aug. 27, 1963 in Gallatin, Tenn. She moved to Pahrump two years ago, coming from Las Vegas.

She worked as a nurse. She loved crocheting and made many beautiful baskets.

Her mother Bette Claiborne of Pahrump; fiancé Bruce Hatch of Pahrump; brother William Claiborne of Las Vegas; sister Linda (Charles) Claiborne of Pahrump; nephew Charlie; niece LaDawn; and Aunt Linda Allen of Hendersonville, Tenn., survive her.

Her father preceded her in death.

Graveside Service will be held at 3 p.m. today at Palm on Eastern in Las Vegas. (04/28/06)

Stanley Lucido

A family gathering for Stanley Lucido, 77, who passed away April 27 in Tooele, Utah, was held April 29.

He was born May 2, 1928 in Buffalo, N.Y., to Stello (Stan) Lucido and Teresa Calendra Lucido. He was the youngest of five children.

He served honorably in the Marines during World War II. He was later a jack-of-all trades; he owned and operated many small businesses in every town in which he lived. His adventures took him from New York to California, to Nome, Alaska, to Florida. He lived his life to the fullest, engaging in small town politics to rounding up wild horses in the Nevada desert. He was married to Ellen Ruth Blackett in 1949; they later divorced.

His daughter Ruth Ann; sons Louis (Elizabeth) and Stanley; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren survive him.

His parents and brother Louis preceded him in death.

His final resting place will be in Beatty, the Nevada desert he loved so much. (04/27/06)

John Huffman

John William Huffman, 87, passed away May 7 in Pahrump.

He was born June 24, 1918 in Cushing, Okla., but was raised in St. Joseph, Mo.

He was an Air Force veteran who served during World War II. He worked in the airline industry and retired from Republic Airlines in 1979.

He loved fishing, reading, watching westerns, and of course, his family.

His wife of 64 years Eve; children Linda (Joe) Cratty, Jon (Linda) Huffman, Jeff (Judy) Huffman and Melissa (Alan) Amberson; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and five great great-grandchildren survive him.

His family will miss his World War II stories and thanks Nathan Adelson Hospice and Visiting Angles for their care and support during the past year.

Beverly Park

A celebration of life for Beverly Faye Ellis Park, 74, who passed away May 8 in Pahrump, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the LDS Church, with burial to follow at 3 p.m. in Boulder City.

She was born Jan. 9, 1932 in Ogden, Utah.

She had a special love for all children and a gift for being a mother to all who needed her special love.

Her daughters Charlene Stevens Thiessen-Loyalton, Vicki Stevens Pattillo and Debra Park of Pahrump; brother Mike Durney of Chilcoot; sister Barbra Garvin of Henderson; 15 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews survive her.

Her mother Lucille Ellis Durney; father James Ellis; loving stepfather James "Levar" Durney; sister Darlene Wilson; brother James Ellis; daughter Judy Stockton; and sons James F. Stevens and Billy Park preceded her in death.

Neptune Society of Nye County handled the arrangements. (05/08/06)

Ron Troyer

Services are pending for Ronald (Ron) Lee Troyer, 67, who passed away May 29 after a short battle with cancer.

He was born Aug. 4, 1938 in Peoria, Ill. He was a 25-year resident of Pahrump coming from Las Vegas.

He served in the U.S. Air Force and was an operating engineer working as a heavy-duty mechanic at the Nevada Test Site for many years.

He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling and karaoke.

His brothers Larry and Lloyd Troyer; sisters Gloria Higgins and Annette Vest, nieces and nephews, and many friends in Pahrump and Las Vegas survive him.

His parents John and Lillian Troyer and wife Maryann Wallace Troyer preceded him in death.

Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial handled the arrangements. (05/29/06)

Gerald Mundle

No local services will be held for Gerald J. (Jack) Mundle who passed away June 2,in Knoxville, Tenn.

He was born September 27, 1930 in Bridgeport, Conn.

He was a life member of the VFW. After retiring from the General Electric Company, he resided in Pahrump for 15 years before spending his last three years in Knoxville.

His sons, Douglas Mundle of Derby, Conn., and Mark Mundle of Wallingford, Conn.; sister Catherine (Harold) Wright of Murrells Inlet, S.C.; and partner Beverly Anton survive him.

Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel handled the arrangements. (06/02/06)

Robert Rutkowski

Military services for Robert B. Rutkowski, 67, who passed away June 2 in Las Vegas will be held at a later date in San Diego, Calif.

He was born October 22, 1938 in Reading, Penn., and was a five-year resident of Pahrump coming from San Diego.

He served in the U.S. Navy, retiring in 1980 after 25 years in the service.

His loving wife Dorothy; daughters Denise (Robert) Keith, Lisa Kelly and Lori York, all of San Diego; mother Emma Montgomery of Reading, Penn.; and two grandchildren survive him.

His father preceded him in death.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice.

Vance Mullen

Services for Vance G. Mullen, 28, who passed away May 31, will be held at 9 a.m. on Thursday at the Pahrump Moose Lodge.

He was born November 1, 1978.

His mother and father, Rose and Jim Mullen; brother Charles A. (Melody); two nieces, Tabitha and Theresa Mullen; grandmother Tessie A. Huff; his aunt Joy and fiance Sara Pringle survive him.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Moose Lodge.

Arlan Kintzler

Services for Arlan G. Kintzler, 74, who passed away in Las Vegas on May 31, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Neptune Society of Nye County Chapel.

He was born May 7, 1932 in Broken Bow, Neb. He was a seven-year resident of Pahrump, coming from Missoula, Mont.

He served in the U.S. Navy and was a business owner.

His wife of 53 years Ruth; sons Randal and Douglas Kintzler of Bozeman, Mont.; sister Elaine Williamson of Douglas, Wyo. and brother Ronnie Lee (Roz) Kintzler survive him.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Moose Lodge.

Vance Mullen

Services for Vance G. Mullen, 28, who passed away May 31, 2006 were held at 9 a.m. on Thursday at the Pahrump Moose Lodge.

He was born November 1, 1978.

His mother Rose Mullen and his father Jim Mullen; brother Charles A. (Melody); two nieces, Tabitha and Theresa Mullen; grandmother Tessie A. Huff; his aunt Joy and fianc�e Sara Pringle survive him.
