Gertrude M. Kyle
Gertrude M. Kyle, 94, passed away Nov. 2, 2007.
She was born July 28, 1913 in Los Angeles, Calif and was a resident of Pahrump for 9 years, having come from Idaho.
Kyle was employed by the school district and was a member of First Southern Baptist Church.
Her daughter Barbara (Bill) Thompson; grandchildren Charlotte Frigon, Renee, Daleen, Ben, Loraine, LeAnn, David and Chad and 15 great-grandchildren survive her.
She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley; daughter Beverly and her dog, Princess.
The viewing was held Nov. 4 at Lee Funeral Home and burial was Nov. 5 in the Chief Tecopa cemetery. (11/02/07)
Shirley C. Sinyard
Shirley C. Sinyard, 72, passed away Nov. 5, 2007 in Las Vegas.
She was born Nov. 22, 1934 in Las Vegas and was a resident of Pahrump for three months having come from Overton.
She was employed as a bookkeeper by the Gateway Gazette and retired in 1989.
She was a member of the Church of Latter-Day Saints and had 12 years education.
Her husband J.D. Sinyard and lots of loving friends and family survive her.
She was preceded in death by Damond J. Sinyard.

Teagan Michelle Eads
On Oct. 30, 2007, Teagan Michelle Eads was born into this world. She was an absolutely perfect, beautiful angel, but too small to take on life.
Her few moments on earth will be treasured. She touched so many lives in such a short time.
She is survived by her parents Vernon and Tamara; brother Joshua; sister Kathryn; grandparents Ron and Shirley Trummell and Bill and Sandy Eads; uncles Will Eads, Terry Eads and Jim (Tammy) Trummell; aunts Cheryl Paker and Candice Trummell and numerous great aunts, uncles and great-grandparents.
Services will be held at 1 p.m., Nov. 10 at the First Southern Baptist Church on Highway 160 and Fehrs Way. Pastor John Dodge will officiate. (10/30/07)
Eric Rosen
Eric Chrisian Rosen, 26, passed away Nov. 1, 2007 in Pahrump.
He was born Nov. 19, 1980 in Brooklyn, N.Y., and lived in Pahrump for 9 years.
Rosen was a U.S. Marine and served during wartime in Iraq, operation "Iraqi Freedom."
He was of the Catholic faith and had 12 years of education
His father, Louis Rosen; mother Christine Rosen; brothers Alexander and Nicholas Rosen and sister Rebecca Rosen survive him.
The viewing was 1-4 p.m., Nov. 8 at Pahrump Family Mortuary and the burial will be at 10:40 a.m., Nov. 9 at Southern Nevada Veterans cemetery in Boulder City. (11/01/07)
Cheryl Johnson
Services for Cheryl Ann Johnson, 55, who died at home May 19, 2007, after a long battle with cancer, will be held at 3 p.m. today (viewing 1-3 p.m.) at Desert Memorial in Las Vegas.
She was born March 8, 1952, in Hudson, N.Y. She was a one-and-a-half-year resident of Pahrump.
Her husband Jimmy of Pahrump; children Chance, 18, and Megan, 16, both of Pahrump; mother Helen Fraleigh, brothers Donald, Michael, Robin, Jamie and Jay; and sisters Michelle, Tammy and Holly survive her.
Her father James H. Fraleigh preceded her in death.

Wayne Decker
Services for Wayne Allen Decker, 23, who died May 18, 2007, in Las Vegas, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, May 28 at the Pahrump Community Center.
He was born Oct. 12, 1983, in Westminster, Colo. He was a 10-year resident of Pahrump and was employed by Desmoni Plumbing.
His mother Christine Decker of Pahrump; sisters Tina Marie Decker Coleman, Carol Coleman and Shawnie Elaine Coleman, all of Las Vegas; brothers Jack Phillip Coleman of Las Vegas and William Adam Hussey of Hesperia, Calif.; and grandparents Bill and Deloris Decker of Pahrump survive him.

Joan Lamb
Joan A. Lamb, 89, of Pahrump, died Saturday, May 19, 2007, in Las Vegas after a short illness.
She was born Feb. 8, 1918, in Sandusky, Ohio. She was an eight-year resident of Pahrump.
She was a retired teacher, principal and administrator with the Los Angeles Unified School District.
Joan also served in the U.S. Woman's Army Corps during World War II. She was a musician and band leader. She was instrumental in forming and training the first all-black Women's Army Corps Band.
Although Joan has no surviving family, she left behind many close and caring friends throughout the world. During her retirement years, Joan purchased a motor home and traveled with friends and alone through the western U.S. and as far as Alaska.
Cremation will take place and a memorial and interment service will be held at 11:20 a.m. June 12 at the Veterans Memorial cemetery Chapel in Boulder City. (05/19/07)
Lynn Blethen
Lynn "Blitz" Blethen, 76, of Pahrump, died May 6, 2007.
He was born Dec. 15 in Crystal Lake, Ill. He was a 22-year resident of Pahrump.
He was an active job superintendent for the construction industry, building hotels and commercial buildings all over the United States.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, having tours of duty in Korea, where he was awarded the Purple Heart and other decorations.
"Blitz" is survived by his wife Donna; sons Shawn (Denise) of California, Robert (Janet) of Nevada; daughter Sheila (Bill) Casto; and granddaughter Casey.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. June 4 at the Pahrump VFW, 4651 S. Homestead Road. The service will be conducted by The Marine Corps League.

Private family services will be held for Cleta Fay Seal, 80, who died May 23, 2007, in Pahrump.
She was born March 8, 1927, in Slaton, Texas. She was a one-and-a-half-year resident of Pahrump, coming from Montclair, Calif.
She was a homemaker.
Her husband Calvin Seal of Pahrump; daughters Debbie Long and Pam Pasqualetto, both of Pahrump and Jenny Agrusa of Henderson; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren survive her.

Jerry Barnett
Services for Jerry Robert John Barnett, 70, who died May 20, 2007, in Pahrump, will be held at noon today at Valhalla cemetery in North Hollywood, Calif.
He was born Aug. 22, 1936, in Los Angeles, Calif. He was a four-year Nevada resident, coming from Oklahoma.
He was a mechanic employed by American Airlines. He was of the Catholic faith and a member of the Pahrump Car Club.
His wife Jennette Barnett of Pahrump; sons Dennis Barnett of Pahrump and Darel Barnett of Oklahoma; daughter Denice Skeeter of Oklahoma; sister Frances Watt of Pahrump; and six grandchildren survive him.
He mother Muriel and father David preceded him in death.

Esther Speakman
A private memorial service will be held for Esther Joanne Speakman, 68, who died May 16, 2007, in Pahrump.
She was born Nov. 23, 1938, in Inglewood, Calif. She was a five-year resident of Pahrump, coming from California.
She was a member of the Nye County Sheriff's Auxiliary.
Her sons John Speakman of Clovis, Calif., Ronald Speakman of Potomac, Md., Bruce Speakman of Branson, Mo., Douglas Speakman of Hollywood, Calif., and Joseph Martin Speakman of Los Angeles, Calif.; daughters Julie Logan of Santa Maria, Calif., Stephanie Lynn of Liberty, Ky., and Maureen Waite of California; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild survive her.
Her parents and daughter Sherrie May Fowler preceded her in death.
