Gerald Strong

Services for beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend Gerald "Jerry" Leon Strong, who died Jan. 15, 2007, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., in Las Vegas.

Jerry was born Aug. 19, 1936, to Maurice and Josephine Strong in Salt Lake City, Utah.

At the age of 17, he joined the Marines and served for four years. Then at 22, he served the Great Lakes Mission of the LDS Church. When he returned home, he married Pauline Lemcke, whom he was married to for 35 years. He also served as bishop of the Pahrump LDS Ward for several years.

His entire life was devoted to his family and his last days were spent enjoying his grandchildren and fishing. He is loved and will be truly missed.

His 12 children, 30 grandchildren and one great-grandchild survive him.

His son Matthew Strong preceded him in death in March 1995.

Graveside services and burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Springville Evergreen cemetery, 1997 South 400 East, in Springville, Utah. (01/15/07)

Ada Faulkner

Services for Ada K. Faulkner, 70, who died Jan. 8, 2007, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Beatty Baptist Church in Beatty.

She was born March 12, 1936, in Providence, R.I. She was a 30-year resident of Nevada.

Her husband James Faulkner; sons James (Ginny) of Beatty and Christopher of Beatty; daughters Geraldine (Kenneth) Marchand, Jo Ann (Jon) Kyriss of North Las Vegas and Lori of Beatty; brother Herb Tourgee of Seekonk, Mass.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews survive her.

Her parents Harry and Ada Tourgee and brother Harry "Buster" Tourgee preceded her in death. (01/08/07)

Conway Harris

Services were held for Conway W. Harris, 79, who died Jan. 12, 2007, in Las Vegas.

He was born April 13, 1927, in Los Angeles, Calif. He lived in southern Nevada for nine and a half years, coming from Torrance, Calif.

He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a jet mechanic and later worked for TWA. He was also a member of the American Legion.

His wife of 57 years Jacqueline Harris; daughters Toni Lynn Aaquist, Denyce Lorraine Bell and Vicki Louise Swift; brother Robert V. Harris; sister Merle Maxfield; grandsons Michael Jr., Jeremiah, Conlin and Arthur Jr.; granddaughters Vienna, Jacquelyn and Victoria; great -grandchildren Virginia and Larry III; and the tropical birds and bushes he cared for survive him.

Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to U.S.O. (United Services Organizations).

Lee Funeral Home & Cremation Service handled the arrangements. (01/12/07)

Ada Faulkner

Services for Ada K. Faulkner, 70, who died Jan. 8, 2007, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Beatty Baptist Church in Beatty.

She was born March 12, 1936, in Providence, R.I. She was a 30-year resident of Nevada.

Her husband James Faulkner; sons James (Ginny) of Beatty and Christopher of Beatty; daughters Jo Ann (Jon) Kyriss of North Las Vegas and Lori of Beatty; brother Herb Tourgee of Seekonk, Mass.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews survive her.

William Kirk

William Lee Kirk died in the early morning of Jan. 7, 2007, after a long illness.

He was born July 9, 1931, to Chesley A. Kirk and Addie Barnes Kirk in Dalton, Ga.

In 1947, he joined the Army Air Forces, which became the U.S. Air Force. He served all over the U.S., Asia and England. He retired in September 1969 after achieving the rank of Chief Master Sergeant.

His military honors included the Air Force Commendation Medal with two clusters, AFLSA, AFOUA, GCM with five BR LPS, NDSM, AFNOAR and a Presidential Unit Citation. During his Air Force years, he also accumulated college credits with the University of Maryland.

He married Ruth Ann Hazlet March 18, 1969, in Pullman, Wash., at her parents' home and they made their home in San Bernardino, Calif., for a time.

After retiring from the Air Force, he was employed by Data Technology Inc., then Raytheon Corp. Next, he was employed by the County of Riverside as a systems analyst in the data processing department. After several years with Riverside County, he started a heavy equipment rental business in Riverside.

There were short residences in Washington and Tennessee. Then in 1980, he and his family moved to Central Point, Ore., where the family had a farm. With his wife, he built two homes in southern Oregon.

In 1997, the Kirks moved to Pahrump, where they lived for nine years, and then returned to Southern California, where their grown sons live.

He was a lifetime member of the DAV and the Air Force Sergeants Association and was also a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Pahrump.

His wife Ruth Ann; sons Steven B. Kirk of Pasadena, Calif., and Daniel C. Kirk of Moreno Valley, Calif.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins in Georgia survive him.

His brothers Eugene Kirk and Jack A. Kirk preceded him in death. (01/07/07)

Roberta Cazimero

A celebration of life for Roberta "Bert" K.M.M. Cazimero, 60, who died Dec. 30, 2006, will be held at her home at 11 a.m. Jan. 20 at 3730 E. Paiute Blvd. in Pahrump.

She was born Nov. 10, 1946 in Honolulu, Hawaii. She was a 10-year resident of Pahrump.

Bert is remembered by her husband Greg of Pahrump; mother-in-law Virginia of Pahrump; son Jeff of Las Vegas; daughter Jo-Dann of Henderson; daughter Zeniah of Las Vegas and six grandchildren.

Henry Newcomb

Services for Henry Newcomb, 89, who died Jan. 5, 2007, in Pahrump, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Lee Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 720 S. Buol Lane.

He was born Jan. 21, 1917, in White County, Ill. He was a five-year resident of Pahrump, coming from Las Vegas.

He served in the U.S. Army and was a radio operator.

His sons Dennis (Nancy) Newcomb, John Newcomb and Scott Newcomb; grandchildren Kristy Brennan, Carrie Gallagher and Travis Newcomb; great-grandchildren Ryan and Amanda Brennan, Shaylea and Alexis Gallagher and Camdyn and Abryanna Newcomb survive him. (01/05/07)

Donald Gisler

Services for Donald B. Gisler, 77, who died Dec. 13, 2006, in Pahrump, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lee Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 720 S. Buol Lane.

He was born Feb. 28, 1929, in Springfield, Mass. He was a resident of Pahrump since June 2003.

He was a retired U.S. Air Force colonel who was instrumental in the SAM (School of Aviation Medicine) project of training rhesus monkeys for travel in rockets in the early space program of the late 1950s.

He taught at the veterinary school at Ohio State University before going into small animal practice for 20 years. He retired in 1991.

He was interested in the desert and the history of the Nevada miners. He volunteered by researching history for the Boomtown History event.

His wife Denise Gisler of Pahrump; daughters Ann (Bruce) Smolenski of Michigan and Heather (Villamoe) Cruz of California; son Tom Gisler of Michigan; brother William (Janice) Gisler of Ohio; grandchildren Andrea Smolenski, Rebecca, Benjamin and Ruby Cruz; and nephews Eric (Shanna) Gisler of Kentucky and Bill (Mary) Gisler of Ohio survive him. Annette Laizure

In loving memory of Annette Joan Laizure.

Born May 1940 to Edwin and Velma Hutton, Annette was the youngest of two girls. Annette was born and raised in Southern California where she spent the majority of her life. She moved to the Pahrump Valley to enjoy her retirement.

Annette is survived by her sister Dorothy; children Daniel, Darrin, Dale and Danise; and seven grandchildren.

A remembrance will be held Sunday, Jan. 14. Please contact the family for details.

Donald Gisler

Services for Donald B. Gisler, 77, who died Dec. 13, 2006, in Pahrump, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lee Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 720 S. Buol Lane.

Tiffany Langston

Tiffany Mary Langston, 23, died Jan. 2, 2007, after a long struggle with abdominal disease and depression.

She was born Aug. 27, 1983, in Provo, Utah to Deborah Ordine Langston and Rodney Leon Langston of American Fork, Utah. She lived in Las Vegas and Pahrump for the past 10 years.

Tiffany attended Chapparel High School, participating in the ROTC program. She also aspired to be a fashion model, training with a local modeling agency and appearing in shows locally.

Her father Rodney Leon Langston of Goodsprings; brother Brian Douglas Langston (Clavel Cuestas, their 3-year-old daughter Myah Myracle of Las Vegas); paternal grandfather James Leon Langston (Colleen Langston) of Beaver Dam, Ariz.; maternal grandparents Fortunato (Ned) A. Ordine and Maryanna K. Ordine of Pahrump; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and good friends who loved her and will miss her survive her.

Her mother Deborah and aunt Linda O. Jensen preceded her in death recently.

A memorial service will follow cremation. Those wishing to attend may contact Maryanna K. Ordine at 1-775-537-1364 for details.

May our Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ keep Tiffany Mary in their loving care until we all meet again. (01/02/07)
