Raymond Morris

Services for Raymond Morris, 85, who died Feb. 18, 2007, at Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Pahrump Community Church, with grave side services at 3 p.m. at Pahrump Family Mortuary and Grandview cemetery.

He was born Jan. 1, 1922, in Terre Haute, Ind.

Ray served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He served in the Pacific theater and was a Pearl Harbor survivor.

He worked for many years at the Nevada Test Site, and after retiring, owned a sand and gravel company.

He enjoyed fishing and camping trips and many activities with family and friends.

Ray and his family moved to Pahrump in 1971. He was a reserve deputy sheriff in Pahrump for the Nye County Sheriff's Department, and commander of the Pahrump Search and Rescue for a time.

He was loved and will be missed by his wife of 44 years, Shirley, children Michael KinKade, Jody (Greg) Esparza, and Julie Perry, all of Pahrump, Steve (Pat) Morris and Cheryl Scott, both of Washington, and his grandchildren Traci, Steve, Rick, Jessica, Allison, Nick, Tawnya, Christian and Dylan.

The family would like to thank Nathan Adelson Hospice, the Pahrump Community Church and all his friends for their prayers, help and support.

Ray loved the Pahrump Valley and had many friends and fond memories. (02/18/07)

Lucrezia Cudby-Lembke

Memorial services for Lucrezia J. "Jackie" Cudby-Lembke, 65, who died Nov. 27, 2006, at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, will be held at noon Saturday at the LDS Church on Wilson Road.

She was born April 15, 1941, in Seattle, Wash. She was a 15-year resident of Pahrump.

She worked as a housekeeper and retired from the Mirage. She was a member of the DAV Auxiliary and a dedicated bingo fanatic.

Her children Craig Lembke of Asheville, N.C., Kenneth Lembke of Pahrump, Terrianne De Rose of Middleton, Idaho, James McMurtrey of Sun Valley, Idaho and John McMurtrey of Ririe, Idaho; brothers Mike Dougalas of Oklahoma City, Okla., Frank Mandarano of Mercer Island, Wash., and Joe Mandarano of Sherlie, Mass.; sisters Josette Burts of Alvin, Texas and Mary Carlson of Burlington, Mass.; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren survive her.

Her husband Eric Cudby and parents Joseph Mandarano and Bea Dougalas preceded her in death. (11/27/06)

Jack Brandt

No services will be held for Jack L. Brandt, 70, who died Feb. 22, 2007, after a long illness.

Formerly of Lake Mohave, Ariz., and Litchfield, Ill., he was a 19-year resident of Pahrump.

Jack was a retired millwright and a gifted musician.

His wife Charlene; sister Donna Lasko; brother Larry; daughters Barbara Jean, Connie and Cindy; sons Allen, Dean and Ronald Foster; and many grandchildren, all of Litchfield, survive him.

Pahrump Family Mortuary handled the arrangements. (02/22/07)

Rene Hatch

Services for Rene Hatch, who died Feb. 2, 2007, at age 47, will be held at noon Saturday at Echo of Fate in Indian Springs (off Highway 95).

She was a 19-year resident of Pahrump.

She enjoyed music, gardening, gambling and bingo.

She leaves her son Sean Flores Hatch; brothers Ernest W. Hatch, Ronald Hatch and Steve Hatch; sister Cheryl Ellis; brother-in-law Dave Ellis; sister-in-law Maria Orozco Hatch; and several nieces and nephews. (02/02/07)

Lucrezia Cudby-Lembke

May Rose

May Louise Reglin Williams Rose died Feb. 10, 2007, at home with immediate family present.

She was born March 12, 1925, in Rock Falls, Ill., to Otto and Nola (Keyes) Reglin. She was a three-year resident of Pahrump, coming from Eagle River, Wis.

She was an avid bowler, inducted into the RRWBA Hall of Fame, and was a junior bowling instructor. She was a member of the Rock Falls, Ill. Eagles Club Auxilliary; Eagle River, Wis., Snow Eagles Snowmobile Club and the Eagle River VFW Auxilliary.

Her son Stanley L. "Butch" Williams and daughter-in-law Terri Williams of Pahrump; grandson Shawn L. Williams and great-granddaughter Karisa A. Williams of Las Vegas; sister June Ulch of Waukegan, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews survive her.

Her first husband, Bobby L. Williams, preceded her in death Aug. 17, 1967, and second husband Joseph Rose preceded her in death in 1998.

Her brother Chester Reglin, nephew Ron Reglin and parents also preceded her in death.

Services will be held at a later date in Rock Falls, Ill., at the Eagle Club.

The family wishes to thank Nathan Adelson Hospice.

William Garvey

Services for William Garvey, 75, who died Feb. 8, 2007, at Valley Hospital in Las Vegas, will be held at noon Wednesday at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial cemetery in Boulder City.

He was born Sept. 17, 1931, in Chicago, Ill. He was a 70-year resident of southern Nevada.

He served in the U.S. Army and was a Korean War and Vietnam veteran. He later worked as a corrections officer and retired from civil service.

He was a member of the VFW and Airborne Special Forces.

He has no surviving family members.

Richard 'Rick' Herzog

A celebration of life for Richard "Rick" Herzog, 62, who died Feb. 13, 2007, in Las Vegas, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Assembly of God Church in Pahrump.

He was born March 20, 1944, in Olean, N.Y. He was a one-year resident of Pahrump, coming from Las Vegas, where he lived for 15 years.

He served in the U.S. Navy and was a Vietnam veteran.

He worked as a landscaper. He was an avid gardener with a passion for landscaping. He also loved and collected trains, big and small.

His wife Susann of Pahrump; children Bethany of San Diego, Calif., Robyn Childers of Colorado Springs, Colo., Eve of Port Angeles, Wash., Gary Nydam of San Diego, and Robert and Lynn Nydam of Japan; sister Susan Koehler of of Buffalo, N.Y.; brothers William (Jane), James, Michael (Gail) and Steven, all of Buffalo, N.Y.; and grandchildren Nicholas and Steven Nydam of Albuquerque, N.M., survive him.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you instead plant something in Rick's memory.

Charles Grenier jr.

A memorial service for Charles Paul Grenier Jr., 43, who died Jan. 30, 2007, in Westwood, Calif., will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Pahrump Family Mortuary, 5441 S. Vicki Ann Road.

He was born June 1, 1963, in Maine. He was an eight-year resident of Pahrump, coming from Las Vegas.

His wife Joanne M. Grenier of Pahrump; son Dale Grenier of Florida; and father Charles Paul Grenier Sr. survive him.

His mother preceded him in death. (01/30/07)

Vincent Zucchero

Services for Vincent Alfred Zucchero, 44, who died Jan. 24, 2007, in Tonopah, will be held at 11:30 a.m. today at Pahrump Family Mortuary, 5441 S. Vicki Ann Road.

He was born Dec. 18, 1962, in New York. He was an eight-year resident of Pahrump.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for two years.

His wife Tracy Zucchero of California; daughter Jennifer; and parents Thomas and Catherine Zucchero of Pahrump survive him.

Two brothers preceded him in death.

Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the family. (01/24/07)

Donald Ankrum

Donald Ankrum died peacefully Jan. 24, 2007, at Odyssey Healthcare of Las Vegas, surrounded by family.

He was born Nov. 25, 1937, in Salmon, Idaho, to Leah and Noel Ankrum. He married Sharon Ford of Gibbonsville, Idaho, on June 1, 1957.

Don worked many years in the mining/milling industry. After graduating from high school in Salmon, he worked at Cobalt, Idaho, until 1959 when he went to Jeffrey City, Wyo. In 1964, the Ankrums moved to Questa, N.M. In 1964, they moved to Moab, Utah, where Don worked for Texas Gulf Sulphur, now known as Moab Salt, for 16 years. In 1979, they moved to Ticaboo, Utah, where he worked for Plateau Resources until 1984. They then moved to Carlin, where he worked for Cominco, Dee Gold and Newmont at Mill No. 4 until accepting a position with Cominco in 1993 at the Red Dog Mine, Alaska, while keeping residence in Carlin. Don retired in 2000 and he and Sharon moved to Pahrump.

He is survived by his mother Leah Hagel; wife Sharon; son Brad (Leslie) of Grand Junction, Colo.; daughter Brenda (Frank) Neuhauser of Las Vegas; six grandchildren, Bradley of Salt Lake City, Utah, Brian and Whitney of Grand Junction, Frank, Alexandra and Tyler of Las Vegas; sister Nola Armstrong of Salmon, Idaho; and aunt Mildred Cassell of Las Vegas.

He was preceded in death by a son, Bruce, father Noel Ankrum, stepfather Bob Hagel, and two brothers, Bobby and Gary Hagel.

Don was cremated and a memorial service will be held in Moab, Utah in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Odyssey Healthcare of Las Vegas, 4011-A McLeod, Las Vegas, NV 89112, 702-693-4904 or any local hospice. (01/24/07)
