Theodore Clayton Milligan

Theodore Clayton Milligan, 38, born May 26, 1964, in San Manuel, Ariz., died Oct. 23, 2002, at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Clayton graduated from Morenci High School in Morenci, Ariz., and had worked in mining for 19 years; nine years at Phelps Dodge in Morenci and for 10 years at Barrick Goldstrike.

He was active in mine rescue at Barrick Goldstrike, having achieved the rank of EMT II and also worked with the Elko County Ambulance Service. He coached Spring Creek Girls Little League, and enjoyed rappelling, scuba diving, softball and bowling.

He is survived by his wife, Cyndy Milligan; son, Chase; daughter, Meraya; grandson, Raymond Aragon; father, Ray; brothers, Shane (Michelle) and Cade; nephews, Jacob and Joshua; goddaughter, Doniella; and grandmother, Lori.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Shari; sister, Darrah, and grandpa Al Milligan.

Clayton left with us many precious memories and a smile that will instill in our hearts forever.

The Rosary will be recited on Monday, Oct. 28, at 5 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, Oct. 29, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Father Brian Kennedy officiating.

Daniel Lee Upshaw

Daniel Lee Upshaw died June 15, 2003, near Carlin, Nev.

He was born Aug. 19, 1982, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Don and Bonnie Johns Upshaw. He had worked as a delivery driver for Pizza Hut of Elko. He was a resident of Elko since 1987. He was a member of the Meadow Valley Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

In 1998, he received the Medal of Merit, a meritorious action award for outstanding service, the Boy Scouts of America.

Survivors include father, Don; mother, Bonnie; sister, Julie Upshaw; and brother, Jon/Katie Upshaw, all of Elko.

Services will be at the Elko East Stake Center on College Parkway Friday, June 20, 2003, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in the Elko City Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home, Elko.

Mildred Lurleen Dory

Mildred Dory, 83, of Austin, Nev., died on July 1, 2003, at Tahoe Pacific Hospital in Sparks, Nev. A native of Springville, Utah, she was born Feb. 12, 1920, and had lived in Nevada for most of her life. In fact, she was extremely proud to call Austin her home for the past 60 years.

Mildred was the type of individual whose character favorably reflected the spirit that epitomizes rural Nevadans. She enjoyed sharing her life with her children and grandkids, and held a special place in her heart for her poodle, "Teena." A ruthless card player, Mildred also found time for activities with the American Legion Auxiliary, and The Church of the Latter-day Saints in Austin.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, George Emmett Dory; son, William Dale Dory; daughter, Eleanor May Gandolfo; as well as sisters, Josephine and Dorothy.

She is survived by her sister, Gerry Johnson of Greenville, Calif.; her granddaughter and husband, Elaine and Michael Shields of Elko; grandson and wife, Frank and Junie Gandolfo of Elko; grandson, Wayne Gandolfo of Elko; granddaughter, Janelle Dory of San Jose, Calif.; and granddaughter, Georgia Westfall of Monroe, N.C. Other survivors include son-in-law, Larry Gandolfo of Elko; daughter-in-law Betty Dory of Charlotte, N.C.; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 7, 2003, at 1 p.m. at the Austin Town Hall, Austin, Nev., with interment to follow at the Austin Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers please remember Mildred with a donation in her name to a favorite charity.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Walton Funeral Home, Reno.

Louis B. Negro

Louis B. Negro, 83, died July 17, 2003, at Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital of natural causes.

He was born April 16, 1920, in Italy to Bart and Julia Ramasco Negro and he had worked as a lineman for and retired from Sierra Pacific Power Company.

He was raised in the Golconda, Battle Mountain and Winnemucca area and enjoyed hunting and fishing and being with his family.

He is survived by his sons, Bart and Donald Negro of Battle Mountain, Nev.; sister, Mary Nelson of Battle Mountain; and one granddaughter, Angie (Brett) Rosecrans.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Irene; a son, John; and a grandson, Robert Negro.

Memorial services are scheduled for Tuesday, July 22, 2003, at 11 a.m. at St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Battle Mountain, Nev. Father Bill Paiz will officiate at the services.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that in his memory, donations be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Burns Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
