Tom Roberts

A memorial service for Thomas M. (Tom) Roberts, 63, a resident of Salmon, Idaho, who died March 15 in Boise, Idaho, after a brief illness, was held March 19 in the Mountain View Chapel, Boise.

He was a Pahrump resident from 1982 until 1998, where he had his own yard care/handyman business and worked at Saddle West.

He retired in 1994.

Wife Linda of Salmon, children Virginia Roberts of Riverbank, Calif., Thomas Jr. and Chester, both of Newark, Calif., stepchildren Larry Hildwein and Lynda Short, both of Boise, William Mathews of Mt. Home, Idaho, and Lela Belmont of Bonner's Ferry, Idaho, brother Mike Oliveira of Hayward, Calif., seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild survive him.

Other survivors include mother-in-law Georgia Paquette, sister-in-law Lenora Danielson, niece Dianna Sutton and nephew Chip Danielson, all of Pahrump.

His parents and brother James preceded him in death.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Fritz Rowland

Services for Charles Frederic (Fritz) Rowland, 96, who died March 25 in Las Vegas, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Beatty Community Church.

A private scattering of ashes will follow the service.

He was born Aug. 19, 1904, in Hemingford, Neb.

He served in the Canadian Army, was a member of the VFW, and belonged to the Presbyterian Church.

He moved to Beatty in the early 1960s, and over the course of his life he worked as a prospector and miner, circus clown, animal trainer, truck rider and restaurant owner.

Son Martin Hillman of Palm Springs, Calif., daughter Kitty Schubert of Las Vegas, brothers Keith and Kenneth, both of Idaho Falls, Idaho, sister Dorothy Warren of Beatty, three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren survive him. (3/25/01)

Everett Charette

A private family service will be held for Everett Harrington Charette, 67, who died April 3 in Pahrump.

He was born July 1, 1933, in Ruthland, Vt.

He worked in maintenance and came to Pahrump five years ago from Massachusetts. He was a Protestant.

Niece Carol Rivenburgh of Ridgecrest, Calif., and nephew Arthur Charette III of Riverside, Calif., survive him. (4/3/01)

Jerry Lyons

Services have been held for Jerry Lyons, 67, who died April 1 in a Dayton, Ohio, hospital.

He was born April 23, 1933, in Elizabethton, Tenn.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the Korean War, and worked at the Nevada Test Site before retiring.

He was a former 19-year resident of Pahrump, and a lifelong member of the VFW, Moose Lodge and the Police Officers Assn.

Wife Donna, daughters Jeri Blanco of Las Vegas, Jan Peckinpaw of Cocoa, Fla., son David of Cocoa, stepson Fred Carr of Arkansas Pass, Texas, stepdaughter Toni Carr of Sandy Valley, sisters Bobbie Sue Brown and Vickie Little of Elizabethton, one granddaughter, two step granddaughters, one step grandson and one step-great-grandson survive him.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to The Missions Fund at Westside Christian Church, 1307 West G. St., Elizabethton, Tenn. (4/1/01)

Frank Maiolo

Graveside services for Frank Maiolo, 75, who died April 4 in Pahrump, were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Chief Tecopa cemetery.

He was born Oct. 22, 1925, in Hoboken, N.J.

He served in the U.S. Navy, then worked as a finish carpenter.

He came to Nevada in 1981 from Florida and lived in Crystal before coming to Pahrump.

He was an avid fisherman who was known for his sense of humor.

Sons Randy and Wayne, both of Pahrump, brother Otto of Lodi, N.J., and sister Constance Clark of Las Vegas survive him. (4/4/01)

Pearl Reynolds

Services for Pearl A. Reynolds, 91, who died April 7 in Pahrump, will be held in Ogden, Utah.

She was born April 6, 1910, in Meadow, Utah. She spent her life in Clearfield and Ogden, Utah, before retiring from Hill AFB as an item manager.

After retiring she and her husband were snowbirds in Yuma, Ariz., and Pahrump for many years before buying a home and settling in Pahrump permanently in 1993.

Her husband of 72 years, Leonard, survives her, as do son Val (Leah), daughter Barbara (Vern) Solomon, all of Pahrump, daughter Joanne (Billy) Downs of Eden, Utah, sister Aliene Lund of Ogden, 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, as well as step grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the Nathan Adelson Hospice at Mountain Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center, 4105 N. Blagg, Pahrump 89060.

Charlene Waterhouse

Died April 16, 2001

A memorial service for Charlene Waterhouse, 83, who died April 16 in Pahrump, will be held at a later date.

She was born Mary 4, 1917, in Michigan.

She was a homemaker, belonged to Jehovah's Witnesses, and came to Pahrump six years ago from Michigan.

Daughters Marla Wythe of Pahrump and Martha Jacobs of Lansing, Mich., seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren survive her. (4/16/01)

Robert Rush

A memorial service for Pastor Robert Rush, 68, who died Feb. 27, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Pahrump Community Church.

He was born March 1, 1932, in Philadelphia.

He was a missionary with Village Missions for 45 years, nine served as pastor of the Pahrump Community Church.

During that time he was also chaplain for the Pahrump Valley Volunteer Fire Dept.

He and Marjorie, his wife of 48 years, retired to Cave Junction, Ore., in May.

His wife, sons Daniel and David and three grandchildren survive him. (2/27/01)

Barbara Joyce

A memorial service for Barbara Lee McNamara Joyce, 67, who died May 12 in Pahrump, will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday in Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church.

She was born Jan. 18, 1934, in Hoboken, N.J.

She was senior recreation facility administrator for the Best Western Motel in Milford, Pa., for eight years, and a safe deposit manager in the banking industry.

She came to Pahrump in 1998 from Milford, where she resided for 20 years.

She belonged to Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, was a hospice volunteer, and loved animals, the outdoors, tennis and water sports.

Sons Thomas Myers of Pahrump and James Myers of Grover Beach, Calif., daughter Jean (Phillip) Myers-Articola of Manassas, Va., brother Terrence McNamara of New Orleans and sister Joan Morgan of Calvert County, Md., survive her.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Nathan Adelson Hospice Pahrump Branch, 1440 E. Calvada Suite 1000-A, 89048. (5/12/01)

Patricia Klobuchar-Nelson

Funeral services for Patricia Catherine Klobuchar-Nelson, 59, who died May 16 in Pahrump, were held Monday in the Pahrump Family Mortuary chapel.

Burial followed in Grandview cemetery, Pahrump.

She was born Dec. 5, 1941, in Chicago.

She worked as a secretary and was a six-month resident of Pahrump, coming here from Henderson.

Husband Richard of Pahrump, son Bob Klobuchar of Pahrump, daughter Tricia (Andy) Kaminski of Las Vegas, brother Dave Van Heule of Anaheim and granddaughter Kierstyn survive her.

Parents Frank and Viola Van Heule preceded her in death. (5/16/01)

Jean Kilborn

Private family services have been held for Jean Ellen Kilborn, 69, who died May 21 in Las Vegas.

She was born Oct. 20, 1931, in Pasadena.

She worked as a newspaper advertising manager and enjoyed books and reading.

She belonged to the Catholic Church and came to Pahrump from Kent, Wash., in 1991.

Husband Ron of Pahrump and daughter Diane Martini of Falls Church, Va. survive her. (5/21/01)

Jack Schultz

Services for Jack Schultz, 63, who died May 24 in Pahrump, were held Tuesday in Palm Mortuary-Eastern, with burial in Palm Valley View cemetery, Las Vegas.

He was born Feb. 24, 1938, in St. Charles, S.D.

He was a retired auto mechanic and a six-year resident of Pahrump.

Wife Darlene of Pahrump, daughters Jackie of Pahrump, Roxie Little of Las Vegas, Debbie Powell of Boulder City and Jennifer Young of Pahrump, son Lee of Las Vegas, sister Maxine Deibert of Hoquim, Wash., six grandchildren and one great-grandchild survive him. (5/24/01)
