Judith Kochan
Funeral services for Judith (Judy) Lorraine Kochan, 60, who died May 5 in Pahrump, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Southern Baptist Church with Pastor Ron Trummell presiding. Viewing will be held from 1--7 p.m. today at the Kochan home, 860 Higley Street, Pahrump, and from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the First Southern Baptist Church.
She was born May 18, 1942 in Michigan, and was a resident of Pahrump coming from Las Vegas.
She was a homemaker and a hostess at Saddle West Hotel and Casino. She loved beautiful things, her home, her family and many friends, her husband Les, and she loved to play Bingo.
Her husband Lester of Pahrump; sons Jeff (Debbie) Kochan of Pahrump, and Keith (Jodi) Kochan of Las Vegas; daughters Chris (Tom) Layton, Kandy (Todd) Bartlett, and Sandy (Kevin) Hallowinski, all of Las Vegas; brother Richard Tauchus of Michigan; sisters Betty Sinco of Illinois; Alice Watson, Bobby Messing and Jeri Eckert, all of Michigan; companion Bubba Kochan; and 10 grandchildren survive her.

Nadine Cohick
A memorial service for Nadine "Dean" Cohick, 81, who died May 6 in Pahrump, will be held at 1 p.m. today at Pahrump Family Mortuary with Pastor Ron Trummell officiating.
She was born Jan. 3, 1922 in Texhoma, Okla., and was a resident of Pahrump since 1948, coming from California.
She was the general manager of the Fred Harvey restaurant at McCarran Airport until her retirement 15 years ago.
A Baptist, she was a lifetime member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary and the Women of Moose. She helped organize the Pahrump Harvest Festival and was the first chairwoman for the unincorporated town of Pahrump (to keep cattle off properties).
Her husband Paul of Pahrump; son Doug (Pat) Garlin of Pahrump; sister Gwen Hughes of Pahrump; four grandchildren; and one great grandchild survive her.
Her brother Melvin preceded her in death in 1997.

Dorothy Skelton
Services for Dorothy Skelton, 92, who died May 7 in Pahrump, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at United Methodist Church.
She was born July 13, 1910 in Dow City, Iowa, and was a 12-year resident of Pahrump, coming from Las Vegas.
She worked as the owner/operator of the Double D Bar and Grill in Waterloo, Neb., and was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Her daughters Marianne Hybarger of Pahrump and Beverly (Edward) Kurcz of Las Vegas; nine grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren survive her.
Her husband Dale preceded her in death in 1993.

Regina Howard
Visitation for Regina Howard, 51, who died May 2 in Henderson, will be held from 10-11 a.m. today at Pahrump Family Mortuary. Interment will follow at Grandview cemetery.
She was born March 3, 1952 in Kentucky. A homemaker, she was a resident of Pahrump for 13 years, coming from Baker, Calif. She gave a lot of love and needed little in return. She was a Baptist.
Her son Scott Howard of Pahrump; sisters Teresa Blosser and Donna Sulitus, both of Pahrump, and Cheri Green of Baker, Calif.; father Arnold Hunley of Pahrump; numerous aunts and uncles; and one granddaughter survive her.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest in 1992 and her mother in 2002.

Florence Britt
Florence I. Koons Bellamy Britt, 92, died April 16 in Las Vegas.
She was born Jan. 1, 1911, in Stockton, Kan. She was a resident of Las Vegas for seven years, and was a resident of Pahrump from 1979 to 1991.
She was an accounting technician for 20 years for the state of Colorado, and a retired worthy matron of the Eastern Star, Pahrump chapter.
She taught bible classes for the community church in Pahrump, and was a friend and "grandmother" to many of her granddaughter's school friends.
Her sons Darrell (Nan) Bellamy of Las Vegas, and Duane Bellamy of Watsonville, Calif.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren survive her.

Sylvania Huff
A memorial services for Sylvania Huff, 39, who died April 28 in Henderson, will be held at noon Sunday at the Calvada duck pond.
She was born Dec. 28, 1963 in Hawaii, and was a resident of Pahrump for two years, coming from California.
She was a co-host on Channel 41's "The Morning Show." She was a Christian who was quick with a smile, a friend to all who knew her, and a most willing volunteer. She will be missed.
Her husband Neal Huff of Pahrump, daughters Deon (Eric) Olmos and Jannette (Sammy) Hernandez, both of California; sons Emerson Huff and Preston Huff, both of Pahrump; and two grandchildren survive her. (4/28/03)
Beau West
A memorial service for Beau West, 21, who died May 26 in Las Vegas, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the LDS chapel in Pahrump with Bishop Bowman presiding. Interment will be at a later date in Palm cemetery on Eastern Avenue in Las Vegas.
He was born May 18, 1982 in Las Vegas, and was a resident of Henderson for two years, coming from Pahrump.
He worked in sales at R.C. Willy, liked video games and bowling, and was a former student at Pahrump Valley High School.
His mother Janis Tankersley of Pahrump; father Frederick West of Louisiana; sisters Kristina (Sal) Viti of Henderson and Kim (Tom) Huckins of Elko; grandmothers Virginia West of Louisiana and Lou Ahner of Maryland; and many family members and friends survive him.
He was preceded in death by longtime girlfriend Rachel Reynolds and friends Crystal Reid and Chris Oxborrow.

Verne Simpson
A memorial mass for Verne L. Simpson, 91, who died May 22, will be held in Rapid City, S.D., at a later date.
His wife Garnett Simpson of Las Vegas; daughter Dolly Hanson of Pahrump; granddaughter LaDawn Scott; and grandsons Shawn Roche and John Rhodes survive him.

Otto Campsen
Graveside services for Otto Campsen, 94, who died April 24 in Destin, Fla., will be held at 1:15 p.m. Thursday at Barrancas National cemetery in Pensacola, Fla., with full military honors. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at McLaughlin Mortuary in Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.
He was born May 3, 1908 in Whitmore, S.C., to Frederick H. and Ibblena Graddick Campsen. He was a resident of the northwest Florida area since 1991, and had previously been a resident of Washington and Pahrump.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and was the last surviving Marine to serve aboard the U.S.S. Constitution (Old Ironsides). He was a member of the Destin Seniors.
His wife of 69 years, Blanche Minor Campsen, of Destin; daughter Bette (Ashley) Myers of Kissimmee, Fla.; three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren survive him.

Donald Frasier
Donald Frasier, 75, died April 27 in a Henderson hospital.
He was born Feb. 14, 1928 in Wyoming, and was a 44-year resident of Pahrump.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked as a CPA in the automotive industry until his retirement. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
His daughters Sandra Frasier-Smith of Pahrump, and Jo Ann Robbins of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; 12 brothers and sisters; four grandchildren and one great grandchild survive him.

Adeline Magnano
Private family services will be held for Adeline Magnano, 78, who died April 27 in San Jacinto, Calif.
She was born May 31, 1924 in Elkhart, Ind., and lived in San Jacinto since 1997. She was a previous resident of Pomona, Calif., and Pahrump. She worked as a quality inspector for 28 years at Potlatch International in Pomona.
She is survived by her husband Angelo of San Jacinto; daughters Gloria Madison of Upland, Calif., and Lynn Crouser of Lake Elsinore, Calif.; son Harold Mapes of Midlothian, Texas; sister Charlene Hanshaw of La Grange, Ind.; brothers William Rosenau of Cincinnati and James Hurlburt of Fontana, Calif.; stepdaughter Angela Magnano of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Clark Wheeler
Services for Clark Wheeler, 82, who died April 28 in Las Vegas, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pahrump Family Mortuary, 5441 S. Vicki Ann Road.
He was born Sept. 4, 1920 in Iowa and moved to Pahrump in 1986, coming from Long Beach, Calif.
He was an aerospace engineer with McDonnell Douglas until his retirement in 1974. He worked at the Nevada Test Site in the 1950s.
A born again Christian who was active in the Full Gospel Businessman's Association, he served in the Army Air Corps in WWII, and belonged to the Moose Lodge. An avid golfer, he belonged to the Willow Creek men's club. For the past five years, Wheeler was one of the valley's strongest voices in support of animal rights.
His wife, Louise, of Pahrump, son Douglas Wheeler of California, brother Doug Wheeler of Washington and too many friends to mention survive him. (04/28/03)
