Hershel Trucks
A memorial service for Hershel Lee Trucks, 86, who died Nov. 17, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Vegas Lodge No. 32, 632 E. Charleston Blvd. in Las Vegas.
He was born May 1, 1917 in Rison, Ark., and was a resident of Indian Springs for the past 40 years.
He was a WWII U.S. Navy veteran and a retired electrician from the Nevada Test Site.
He was a past master of Indian Springs Lodge No. 48, Pahrump Lodge No. 54 and a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason.
He was a man who got more joy from giving than receiving. Known as Papa to all who loved him, he will be dearly missed by his family, friends, the Indian Springs community and his Masonic brothers.
His wife of 64 years, Clara Trucks; son Thomas, daughters Ruth and Shirley; sister Lillian of Texas; grandchildren Rick, Thomas, Jason and Gabrielle; and his great grandchildren survive him.

Buford Furgerson
No services will be held for Buford Furgerson, 85, who died Oct. 9 in Las Vegas.
He was born June 21, 1918 in Arkansas, and was a 24-year resident of Pahrump coming from California.
He served in the U.S. Marines for eight years, and then worked for the U.S. Postal Service until his retirement in 1980.
He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans and a member of the Pahrump Community Church.
His wife Joann of Pahrump; son Steven (Olga) Furgerson of California; stepson David Alexander of Las Vegas; stepdaughter Mary Jo Brink of Ohio; eight grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren survive him.
His parents and a daughter preceded him in death.

Ralph Kintzer
Graveside services for Ralph A. Kintzer Jr., 74, who died Oct. 11 in Pahrump, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Green Acres Memorial Park in Bloomington, Calif.
He was born July 23, 1929 in Marion Township, Penn., and was a resident of Pahrump for four years coming from California.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and then worked as a heavy equipment operator for the steel industry.
A Catholic, he was a member of the American Legion and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He loved major league sports, fishing and bowling.
His sons Ralph (April) Kintzer III, Michael (Debbie) Kintzer and Jesse (Sandy) Kintzer, all of Pahrump, Eric Kintzer (Sherry) of Fontana, Calif., David (Cyd) Kintzer of Victorville, Calif., and John (Connie) Kintzer of Crestline, Calif.; daughters Eliza (Jerry) Shotts of Spokane, Wash., Deborah Kintzer of Pahrump, and Virginia (Adam) Herrera of Victorville; 24 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren survive him.
His wife, Virgie, and great granddaughter Kristina preceded him in death.

Colleen Nordman
A memorial service for Colleen Nordman, 74, who died Sept. 30 in Vacaville, Calif., will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church with Rev. Lois Hedden presiding.
She was born June 7, 1929 in Alameda, Calif. She was a former, long-time resident of Pahrump, where she had many friends and was a member of the Pahrump Valley United Methodist Church.
Her favorite hobby was making cookies.
Her sons Ron (Margie) Nordman of Vacaville, Gary (Barbara) Nordman of Modesto, Calif., and Roger (Linda) Nordman of Sparks; brother Warren; granddaughters Erica, Amy and Vicki; grandsons John and Tim; and great granddaughter Tiffany survive her.
Her husband John and sister Patricia preceded her in death.

Penny Salyers
No services will be held for Penny B. Salyers, 48, who died Oct. 13 in Pahrump.
She was born June 25, 1955 in California. A homemaker, she was a resident of Pahrump for eight years.
Her daughters Stacy Murphy-Coleman and Ashley Salyers, both of Independence, Mo.; sons John Montana Jr. of Kansas City, Mo., and Alan Akers; and nine grandchildren survive her.

George Weber
Private family services will be held in Indian Springs for George Weber, 34, who died Oct. 5.
His wife Renee; stepchildren Jessica and Joshua; and grandson Justin Hill survive him. (10/5/03)
Anne Yale
A memorial service for Anne C. Yale, 93, who died Nov. 17, will be held at 1 p.m. Dec. 22 at Our Lady of Valley Catholic Church.
She was born Sept. 22, 1910 in Illinois. She was a 12-year resident of Nevada, and a previous resident of Reno.
She worked as a dental assistant until her retirement and was of the Catholic faith.
Her son Michael (Rita) Kerivan of Reno; daughter Barbara DeShaw of Pahrump; seven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren survive her.

Daniel Fleetwood
Daniel Kass Fleetwood, 52, died Oct. 31 at the home of his friend George Colton in Pahrump.
He was born Aug. 17, 1951 in Menominee, Mich., and resided in Spalding, Mich., where he obtained his formal education and worked in his father's mechanics business. He attended Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Mich., majoring in Environmental Science/Occupational Health & Safety. Venturing to Alaska in 1974, he worked for various oilfield service contractors on the construction of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline. He continued work with the North Slope Borough at Prudhoe Bay from 1979 through 1989, where he met so many lifelong friends.
Dan worked with systems setup for GWF Power in California and Pinnacle Pipe & Steel as a power facilities engineer in Spokane, Wash. until 1995, where he also obtained his real estate broker's license. He continued his education at UNLV, obtaining his master's degree in mechanical engineering in 2001, at which time he first encountered prostate cancer. Fortunate and determined, he continued as an engineering consultant with power generation companies in Russia, Southeast Asia and across the United States
To have known Dan and especially his love of music was a special honor. He was the best of fathers, extending his love to all children by nurturing fun and learning in all activities. He enjoyed the outdoors and often made his distant travels by motorcycle with friends. He will be greatly remembered for his charm and magnetic personality that attracted a mountain of friends.
His daughter Dalia L. Fleetwood, her sister Richelle, who was like a daughter to him, and their mother Julia Doyal of Vaisalia, Calif., survive him, along with longtime friend Arleen Tolliver and her son Connor, who was like a son to him, of Sandpoint, Idaho; sisters Deborah Fleetwood of Soldotna, Alaska, Ann F. Fleetwood of Anchorage, Alaska; brother-in-law Raymond Richel of Soldotna; and brother Robert W. Fleetwood of Gladstone, Mich.
His sister Dorothy Richel of Soldotna and parents Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred R. Fleetwood of Spalding preceded Dan in death.
In celebration of his life and friendship, a gathering will be held in Pahrump in the spring of 2004. Donations may be made in his memory to The American Cancer Society.
Donald Carrillo
Private family services have been held for Donald Carrillo, 61, who died Nov. 27 in Pahrump.
He was born Sept. 13, 1942 in Vallejo, Calif., and was a resident of Pahrump for six years, coming from Blue Diamond.
He served in the U.S. Air Force and then worked as a printer.
His wife Dorothy of Pahrump; daughters Susan Cox of Pahrump and Debbra Menez of Kansas; sister Joan Taddey of California; four grandchildren and one great grandchild survive him.

Fay Clum
Private family services will be held for Fay M. Clum, 75, who died Dec. 2 in Las Vegas.
She was born July 1, 1928 in Almira, N.Y., and was a 13-year resident of Pahrump.
Her husband Charles of Pahrump; daughter Carol Clum of Lodi, Calif.; and two grandchildren survive her.

Mimi Weisner
Services for Mimi Weisner, 74, who died Nov. 23 in Pahrump, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pahrump Family Mortuary chapel with Pastor Bob Lewis officiating.
She was born May 11, 1929 in Antwerp, Belgium, and was a resident of Pahrump for eight years, coming from Santa Ana, Calif.
She worked in data processing for Pfizer until her retirement in 1991. She was of the Jewish faith.
Her husband Henry of Pahrump; daughter Mona Falix of Anaheim, Calif.; and sister Nicole Wones of Studio City, Calif., survive her.
