Margaret Bernice "Bernie" Driscoll Dumas, 84, of 111 Maywood Drive, Syracuse, died Monday. Born in Syracuse, she graduated from Syracuse University with bachelor's and master's degrees. She was a forensic toxicologist with the Onondaga County Medical Examiner's office and the Syracuse Police Department crime lab and had been a science teacher at Central Technical High School. She was a Post-Standard Women of Achievement for science in 1971 and was listed in the 1961 Edition of Leaders in America Science. She was a member of the Northeast Association of Forensic Scientists. Survivor: A son, Charles J. of Syracuse. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Whelan Bros. Funeral Home. Burial, St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. Calling hours, 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 3700 W. Genesee St., Fairmount.

Lorice H. Jones

Lorice H. "Mama Jones" Jones, 85, of 614 S. Crouse Ave., Syracuse, died Saturday. Born in Wake Forest, N.C., she lived in Richmond, Va., before moving to Syracuse five years ago. She attended schools in Virginia. She retired in 1979 from Lucky Strike Tobacco Factory in Richmond. She was a member of 31st Street Baptist Church for more than 60 years. Her husband, James, died in 1963. Survivors: A son, Arthur A. Sr. of Liverpool; a sister, Willie Boxley of Buffalo; a brother, William Hicks of Syracuse; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren. Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday in New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church. Burial, Onondaga Valley Cemetery. Calling hours, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday in the church, 107 E. Beard Ave., Syracuse. Robert J. Mowers

Robert J. Mowers, 79, of Vernon died Friday. Born in Plymouth, he attended Oxford schools. He worked for Baillie Lumber Co. for many years. His wife, the former Minnie Beckwith, died in 1983; a son, Robert Jr., died previously. Survivors: Four daughters, Gloria Guiles of Sherburne, Lillian Russell of Port Byron, Kathy Brabec of Dallas and Patricia Woodcock of Vernon; two sons, Richard of Sherburne and Robert of Otselic; 27 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren. C. Natalie West Murray, 89, of Sentinel Heights, Jamesville, died Sunday. Born in Eastwood, she graduated from Blodgett Vocational High School. She retired after 27 years in the Syracuse City School District's Onondaga Valley Academy and its district office. She also had worked at Woolworth 5&10, the Postal Telegraph Office and Dr. Stanley Major's office. She was an 80-year member of Church of the Saviour and was a member of its Altar Guild. Survivors: Her husband of 69 years, Robert A.; two daughters, Kay A. Rerick of Cranston, R.I., and Diane K. Bowes of Baldwinsville; a son, Dr. R. Bruce of Schenectady; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. Services: 11:15 a.m. Sunday in Church of the Saviour. Burial, in the columbarium at the church. No calling hours. Maurice T. "Bud" Richmond, 78, of 6359 Mosquito Point Road, Munnsville, died Monday. Born in Oneida, he received an honorary diploma in 2001 from Stockbridge Valley Central School District, through a state program that honors World War II-era veterans who entered the military before graduation. He retired in 1986 after 37 years with Oneida Ltd., Sherrill, and in 1995 after 33 years as a security guard with Vernon Downs. He was a member of the Munnsville American Legion Post 54 and the Munnsville Volunteer Fire Department. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors: His wife of 56 years, the former Margaret Gostling; a daughter, Claudia Calvert of Munnsville; a son, Thomas of Munnsville; two sisters, Barbara Richmond of Munnsville and Nellie Mitchell of Canastota; two brothers, Jack of Oneida and Claude Jr. of Munnsville; three grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. Thursday in Munnsville Congregational Church. Burial, Stockbridge Cemetery. Calling hours, 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ball Funeral Home, 5327 N. Main St., Munnsville. William F. Vodek Sr

William F. Vodek Sr., 74, of Westvale died Monday at Francis House. Born in Syracuse, he graduated from Vocational High School and attended Syracuse University. He was an inventory accountant for General Electric Co. for 43 years, a member of General Electric's 25 Year Club and a veteran of World War II and Korea. Survivors: His wife of 53 years, the former Gilda Bertone; a son, William F. Jr. of Albany; a sister, Margaret A. Vodek of Baldwinsville. Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Charles Borromeo Church. Morgan F. Anderson

Morgan F. Anderson, 72, of 413 Summerhaven Drive N., town of Manlius, died Sunday. Born in Utica, he moved to the Syracuse area in 1991 and spent winters in Ocala, Fla. He graduated from Father Leo Memorial School in Croghan, Jefferson Community College and Syracuse University. He received a master's degree from University at Albany. He was a special education teacher for Carthage Central School in 1973 and had worked at BOCES, Watertown. He retired in 1991 as director of career planning and placement for State University College at Canton and a mediator/fact finder for Public Employees Relation Board. He was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Fayetteville. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. His wife, the former Joan E. Andre, died in 2001. Survivors: A son, Dr. Brian P. of Syracuse; a daughter, Bethany J. Anderson of Syracuse; two brothers, Joseph M. of Croghan and Frederick C. of Port Leyden; a grandson. Angelo D. "Julie" Angeloro Sr., 87, of Syracuse died Monday. He was born in Syracuse. He owned and operated W.O. Zischang Co. for 55 years. He was a member of Lincoln Republican Club, Columbus Foundation and Italian Community Home. He was a former board of director of Oneida Lake Association. A son, Daniel G., died in 1989. Survivors: His wife, the former Frances Colozzi; three sons, George D. and Angelo D. Jr., both of Syracuse, and David J. of Australia; two sisters, Esther Scarchilli and Rita Capozzi, both of Syracuse; six grandchildren.
