Richard Ellsworth Auborn, 82, of Washington, N.C., died Saturday. Born in Onondaga County, he lived in Syracuse about 30 years before moving away four years ago. He retired as a foreman for Carrier Corp. after 34 years. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and its choir. Joseph J. Capizzi, 76, of Oswego died Tuesday. He was born in New York City. He retired in 1987 as a letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service in Oswego after more than 30 years and was a greeter at Wal-Mart for many years. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2320 and a member of American Legion Post 0268. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II and received a Purple Heart. He co-founded the Training Co., Canastota, in 1995 and had been an International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers electrician at Cornell University for nine years. He was a senior member of the Instrument Society of America, an amateur Ham Radio operator with the call sign WB2UHK and a former volunteer firefighter.
