Teresa A. Colella Stapleton, 67, of Henderson Boulevard, Van Buren, died Saturday. Born in Syracuse, she lived in the Baldwinsville area since 1957. She graduated from Blodgett Vocational High School in 1952. She retired in 1999 after 18 years in the credit and billing department at Crouse Hospital. After retirement, she worked as a clerical substitute in the Baldwinsville school district. She was a member of Canton Woods Senior Center and was one of the first communicants of St. Augustine's Church, Baldwinsville. Survivors: Her husband of 46 years, Donald T.; a daughter, Karen A. Szakaly of Baldwinsville; a son, Andrew J. of Syracuse; two brothers, John Colella of Liverpool and Michael Colella of Leicester; three grandchildren. Services: 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Falardeau Funeral Home and 10 a.m. in St. Augustine's Church. Burial, Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Pearl Halstead Webb, 96, of 7900 Main St., Fabius, died Saturday. Born in Poughkeepsie, she lived in New Woodstock before moving to Fabius. She graduated from Fabius High School in 1923 and from Crouse Irving School of Nursing in 1925. She was a registered nurse at the maternity home in Fabius. Her husband, Charles, died in 1974. Survivors: A daughter, Murial Partridge of LaFayette; a son, John of Fabius; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild. Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday in Fabius Baptist Church. Survivors: Three daughters, Carol Spencer of Camillus, Donna Albert of East Syracuse and Helen Anderson of Syracuse; two sisters, Irene Rueger of Rome and Norlene Peppe of Berkeley Heights, N.J.; a brother, Norman Beecher of Verona; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Dr. Lawrence Ames

Dr. Lawrence Ames, 94, of Syracuse died Wednesday at Jewish Home of Central New York. Born in New York City, he lived in Brooklyn until moving to Syracuse six months ago. He graduated from New York University in 1927 and New York Medical College in 1931. He retired in 1982 as a physician in private general practice. He was past president of Kings County Medical Society and the New York State chapter of the American Academy of Family Practice. He was member of the New York State Board of Medical Conduct and the Jewish Community House of Bensonhurst. He was a captain in the medical corps during World War II. His wife, Blanche, died in 1989. Survivors: A son, Dr. Ira of Fayetteville; a sister, Edna Braverman of New York City; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Graveside services: Were in Mount Carmel Cemetery. Arthur Chester Bieganowski, 86, of Solvay died Saturday. Born in Syracuse, he graduated from Solvay High School. He retired in 1980 as a sales manager at Cole Muffler after 13 years. He also was a sales manager for Allied Industrial Laundry. He was a communicant of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and a member of the Jones Boys Club. He was an Army veteran of World War II and served in the Pacific. Survivors: His wife of 61 years, the former Genevieve Kotowicz; a daughter, Lynn LaCourse of Syracuse; three sons, Marc of New Hartford, and Victor and Dr. Arthur, both of El Paso, Texas; a foster son, Dr. Omar Salazar of Michigan; two sisters, Helen Falcone and Dorothy Zarzecki, both of Syracuse; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, 927 Park Ave., Syracuse. Burial, Sacred Heart Cemetery. No calling hours. Stella May Hughes Gardner, 77, of Stark Road, Williamstown, died Monday at Loretto Heights Nursing Home in Oswego. Born in Syracuse, she had lived at 8887 Henry Clay Blvd., Clay, for 36 years before moving to Williamstown three years ago. She retired in 1986 after 10 years as an assembler for Eagle Comtronics in Liverpool. She was a member, a former visiting deacon and taught the confirmation program at Luther Memorial Church in North Syracuse. Her husband, Robert J., died in 1991. Survivors: Three daughters, Dawn Premo of Clay, Christine Rogers of North Syracuse and Linda Lanty of Liverpool; a son, Robert P. of Williamstown; nine grandchildren. Weston D. "Pete" Hilts, 76, of 8516 Route 13, Canastota, died Sunday. Born in Canastota, he attended Union Corners School. He owned and operated a dairy farm many years and was a school bus driver for Canastota Central Schools for 19 years. He was also a custodian for Oneida and Vernon-Verona-Sherrill schools. He was a member of Whitelaw Presbyterian Church. A son, Gene F., died in 1976. Survivors: His wife of 55 years, the former Leta Rumble; three sons, Peter, Stanley and Gordon, all of Canastota; two sisters, Louise Earl and Evelyn Leonard, both of Canastota; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Jack P. Lombardi Sr., 75, of Cave Creek, Ariz., died Saturday. Born in Syracuse, he lived there until moving to Arizona in 1987. He graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He retired as founder and president of Syracuse Tank and Manufacturing Co. Inc. and subsidiaries. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. His first wife, the former Molly Witmer, died in 1998. Survivors: His wife, the former Kathleen O'Keefe-Hart; four daughters, M. Kathryn Campbell and Jaculin Dorman, both of Cave Creek, Jennifer Squadrito of Manlius and Tarki Lombardi Crook of Williamsburg, Va.; two sons, Jack P. Jr. of Pompey and Richard C. of New Woodstock; a sister, Sarah Pietrafesa of Syracuse; two brothers, Tarky Jr. and Francis, both of Syracuse; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Christopher R. "Bud" Mariotte, 92, of Pittsford died Saturday at The Highlands Living Center in Pittsford. Born in Amboy, he lived in Parish most of his life before moving away about five years ago. He graduated from Parish High School in 1927 and Syracuse University with a master's degree in education in 1934. He retired in 1969 as principal and a teacher at Altmar-Parish-Williamstown High School after 35 years. His wife of 45 years, the former Elizabeth Schramp, died in 1985. Survivors: Two daughters, Judy Stahl of Pittsford and Betsy McLane of Syracuse; a son, James of Parish; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Services: Will be announced. George E. Ostrander Sr., 89, of 11294 Pamela Terrace, Cato, died Sunday at Howd Nursing Home in Moravia. He was born in West Danby. He retired in 1982 after 15 years as an inspector at Baillie Lumber Co. He had worked at Cotton Hanlon Lumber Co. in Cayuga and served 16 years on the Cato Village Board. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Cato and was a former member of Cato Senior Golf League. Survivors: His wife of 61 years, the former Rose Lajze; two daughters, Carolyn Baker of Ithaca and Barbara Ferguson of Locke; a son, George E. Jr. of Macedon; a sister, Frances Rodabaugh of Bath; two brothers, Rexford of Columbia, Pa., and Leon of Elmira; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Services: Private. She graduated from Morrisville High School in 1927 and Broad Street Hospital School of Nursing in Oneida. She became a registered nurse in New York City in 1932. She retired in 1973 as a registered nurse and head floor supervisor at Rome State Hospital after 30 years. She had worked at Broad Street Hospital and Oneida City Hospital. Her husband, George, died in 1989; a son, Paul, died in 1994. Survivors: A daughter, Rose Richmond of Oneida; a sister, Marjorie Groves of Palm Springs, Fla.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
