He owned and operated a custom tailoring store for more than 30 years at several locations in Auburn. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and a member of the Custom Tailor and Design Association of New York City. He was a member of Auburn Country Club and Owasco Yacht Club. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors: Two daughters, Nancy Giannone-Sarafoglu and Aimee Giannone, both of Pompano Beach, Fla.; three sons, A. Thomas of Solvay, David of Pompano Beach and Christopher of Palm City, Fla.; two sisters, Camille Donovan and Mary M. Hayes, both of Auburn; three grandchildren. Edward J. Gildea, 75, of 139 Greencastle St., Camillus, died Tuesday. Born in Pittston, Pa., he lived on Granger Road in Fairmount 33 years before moving to Camillus six months ago. He graduated from Syracuse University in 1950. He retired in 1985 as an underwriting manager after 35 years with Aetna Life & Casualty Co. He was a communicant of Holy Family Church and a former member of its choir and Holy Name Society. He was a former member of Aetna Golf League at Pine Grove Golf Course. He was a Army Air Forces veteran of World War II. Survivors: His wife of 45 years, the former Virginia Dwyer; four daughters, Eileen Bednar of Elkridge, Md., Ann and Tricia Gildea, both of Charlestown, Mass., and Katy Burns of Onondaga Hill; a sister, Jane Carney of Berwyn, Pa.; five grandchildren. Gordon J. Goss Sr

Gordon J. Goss Sr., 89, of 40 Bakeman St., Fulton, died Wednesday. Born in Fulton, he graduated from Bliss Electrical College, Maryland. He was a district operator for Niagara Mohawk for 39 years. He was an Oswego County legislator for eight years and served on the building committee for Andrew Michaud Nursing Home in Fulton. He served on the expansion committee for the Oswego County Airport and was a county delegate to the New York State Democratic Party Convention. He was an Army veteran of World War II. A son, Richard, died in 1957. Survivors: His wife of 55 years, the former Anna Lindley; a daughter, Maribeth Kanner of Hamden, Conn.; three sons, Gordon Goss Jr. of Brandon, Miss., James of Minetto and Patrick of Miami; two sisters, Catherine Goss of Fulton and Alyce Bocko of Fulton; a brother, Thomas Sr. of Fulton; eight grandchildren. He retired in 1979 as a die setter for Oneida Ltd. in Sherrill. He was a member of American Legion Post 230 and VFW 860, both in Sherrill, and St. Joseph's Church in Oneida. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a trainer and driver in standard bred harness racing and a member of the U.S. Trotting Association. Survivors: His wife of 39 years, the former Carolyn Harrington; two daughters, Cynthia Minckler of Vernon and Laurie Reynolds of Richland; three sons, Richard, Wayne and John, all of Vernon; three sisters, Joyce Wieland of Hastings, Barbara Shutts of Parish and Clarice Gates of Mexico; two brothers, Paul of Vernon Center and Harold of Mexico; three grandchildren.
