While in Syracuse, he was co-founder of Valley Little League, co-owner of the Valley Bicycle Shop, a member of the board and officer of Valley Men's Club and a member of the board of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. He was a navigator and bombardier in the Army Air Forces. Survivors: A daughter, Carol Fowler DeLany of Clay; a son, Richard of Brighton; six grandchildren; his companion, Shirley VanDenBergh.
