D. Eugene Stamm, 95, of Ormond Beach, Fla., formerly of Syracuse, died Jan. 11. Born in Van Wert, Ohio, he moved to Syracuse in the late 1950s and to Florida in the mid-1970s. He graduated from Kenyon College. He retired as a research chemist for the former Semet-Solvay Division of Allied Chemical Corp. He was a Masonic Lodge member. Survivors: A daughter, Margaret Rees of Chapel Hill, N.C.; a son, David of Westerville, Ohio; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Services: Were in Florida. Woodward Dale Funeral Home, Holly Hill, Fla., had arrangements. Contributions: American Cancer Society.

William C. Forster

William C. Forster, 70, of Central Square died Sunday. Born in  Johnson City, he graduated from Central Square Central School in 1950. He retired in 1980 as an owner and operator of a Syracuse Newspapers delivery route. He also worked for the former Canteen Vending Co. for several years. He was a member of Fuller- Taylor American Legion Post 915 in Central Square. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. Survivors: His former wife, Marilyn Lawton; a daughter, Sandra Mandigo of North Syracuse; two sons, Victor of Central Square and Frank of Kissimmee, Fla.; six grandchildren. Services: 7 p.m. today at Traub Funeral Home. Spring burial, Hillside Memorial Cemetery. Calling hours, 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home, 684 N. Main St., Central Square. Ruby May Williams, 90, of Conifer Drive, Baldwinsville, died Monday at Rosewood Heights Health Center. Born in Martville, she was a homemaker. She was a member of Baldwinsville Moose Lodge 644. Survivors: Two daughters, Beverly Kramer of Baldwinsville and Joanne Bell of Pennellville; a son, Gary of Deltona, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Survivors: Her husband of 41 years, Robert L.; a daughter, Judy James of New Haven; a son, Daniel of Oswego; two sisters, Barbara J. Newman and Joan Franz, both of Syracuse; two grandchildren. Virginia C. Grennell

Virginia "Genny" C. Rose Grennell, 83, of 14 Flower Lane, Marcellus, died Thursday at Van Duyn Home & Hospital. Born in Syracuse, she lived in Amber many years before moving to Marcellus in 1957. She graduated from Syracuse Business School in 1965. She was a certified public accountant and worked many years for Stewart Hancock in Syracuse and S&S Tractor in Marcellus. Survivors: Her husband of 37 years, Albert W.; two sons, Bernard Rose of San Ramon,  Calif., and Harold Rose of Pittsford; a stepdaughter, Joanne Shipman of Skaneateles; two stepsons, Raymond Grennell of Skaneateles and Ronald Grennell of Cardiff; a brother, Henry Olszewski of Ohio; a grandson; five stepgrandchidren; two great-grandchildren; nine stepgreat-grandchildren. Viola E. Groot

Viola E. McNett Groot, 84, of 2448 Hillview Drive, Cato, died Thursday of cancer. She was born in Cato. She was an inspector for Sealright Packing Co. in Fulton. She was a member of Victory United Methodist Church, the Home Bureau and Young at Heart senior group in Victory. She was the "Sunshine Lady" of the senior citizens group in Cato. Her husband, Lyman, died in 1986. Survivors: A daughter, JoAnn Baker of Cato; a son, Gary of Springfield, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. Richard A. Marx, 89, of 25 South St., Marcellus, died Thursday. Born in Meriden, Conn., he lived in Wallingford, Conn., before moving to Marcellus in 1994. He worked at International Silver Co. in Meriden and retired in 1976 from H.L. Judd in Wallingford. He was a member of Silver Squares square dancing group in Meriden and was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church in Marcellus. Survivors: His wife of 66 years, Mary A.; a son, Richard A. She was a member of Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Catholic Daughters of America and Sacred Heart Seniors. She was a member of Clowning for Joy Ministry. Her husband, Raymond, died in 1986; a daughter, Betty, died in 1956. Survivors: A daughter, Toni Watson of Pulaski; a son, Raymond of Camillus; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. She retired from Sealright Packaging Co. in Fulton after many years. She had worked at Comstock Foods in Red Creek and Birds Eye Division of General Foods in Fulton. Her husband, Milton J., died in 2001. Survivors: Two daughters, Shirley  Johnson of Fulton and Linda Harvey of Winter Springs, Fla.; three sons, James of Fulton, and Thomas and Robert, both of Hannibal; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. Guy R. Hutchings, 86, of Chenango Street, Earlville, died Sunday at Martin Luther Nursing Home, Clinton. He was born in Sherburne and attended Sherburne schools. He retired in 1974 after 28 years as a carpenter at Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome. He was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church and a former deacon of North Brookfield Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II. His wife, the former Jeanne M. Kimball, died in 1995. Survivors: A daughter, Kathy Clemons of Sherburne; five sons, Murray of California, Bruce of Lebanon, Claude of Sauquoit, Dana of Cassville and Brian of Smyrna; 17 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Raymond J. McGrath

Raymond J. "R.J." McGrath, 97, of Syracuse, died Friday at Loretto. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he attended the University of Notre Dame and Case Western Reserve University. He retired in 1974 after 34 years as a merchandise manager at E.W. Edwards and had managed the Edwards department stores in DeWitt and Camillus. He was a trustee of Our Lady of Solace Church for 27 years, a past president of DeWitt Rotary Club and a past executive director of Syracuse Executive Association, and was associated with Gaebel Industries after his retirement. His wife, the former Irma Corley, died in 1981. Survivors: Two daughters, Mary Ann McGuire of West Chester, Pa., and Pat McGrath of DeWitt; a sister, Vera Mae Jennings of Cleveland, Ohio; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Born in Syracuse, he lived most of his life in Syracuse before moving to Blossvale. He did construction and warehouse work.
