Frances "Fran" Carfagno Delles, 74, of Syracuse died Sunday. Born in Syracuse, she graduated in 1945 from North High School and in 1946 from Beaux Art School of Cosmetology. She was owner of Delles Automotive for 30 years. She was a communicant of St. Brigid and St. Joseph's Church and a member of its Altar and Rosary Society. A son, Richard J., died in 1998. Survivors: Five daughters, Maria A. Felicia of Canastota, Patricia J. Miller of Cicero; Debra D. Fatcheric of Solvay; Colleen G. Delles of Florida, N.Y., and Lynn B. Delles of Syracuse; two sons, Frederick J. of Syracuse and Steven F. of Canastota; two sisters, Carmella Zeppetello of Westvale and Theresa Carfagno of Syracuse; a brother, Daniel G. Carfagno of Centerville, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Brigid and St. Joseph's Church. Burial, private. No calling hours. Melinda A. Sullivan Gardner, 99, formerly of Edgerton Street, Minoa, died Monday at Loretto. Born in Northlow, Quebec, she lived in Hannibal 32 years. Her husband, Joseph C., died in 1983. Survivors: A daughter, Gailmarie Gardner of East Syracuse; a son, Wayne J. of Chittenango; two brothers, Ray Sullivan of Potsdam and Basil Sullivan of Rochester; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. George T. Kinder

George T. Kinder, 97, of Westvale died Sunday at Van Duyn Home & Hospital. Born in Solvay, he graduated from Solvay High School. He was a shop foreman for 43 years at Allied Signal. He was a founder and member of Robinson Memorial Church. He was a member of the Solvay 40-Year Club and the Morning Star Lodge, Marcellus. His wife, the former Mabel Herring, died in 2000. Survivors: A son, George W. of Marcellus; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. Services: Noon Thursday at Tindall Funeral Home. Burial, Belle Isle Cemetery. Robert J. Peyer

Robert J. Peyer, 86, of 4624 Onondaga Blvd., Syracuse, died Saturday. Born in Providence, R.I., he was raised in Rochester and moved to Syracuse in 1931. He graduated from Nottingham High School and attended University College at Syracuse University. He retired in the early 1980s after 40 years with the Onondaga Hotel and Hotel Syracuse. He was a singer, arranger of music and played the trombone and piano in the 1930s with the Tommy Regal Band. His wife of 61 years, the former Jane Kernan, died in 2001. Survivors: A daughter, Judith L. Togni of Syracuse; three sons, Peter G. and Thomas R., both of Syracuse, and John A. of Pittsburgh, Pa.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Virginia J. Finizio

Virginia J. "Ginny" Misner Finizio, 63, of 3187 Franklin St. Road, Auburn, died Monday. Born in Auburn, she was a life resident of the Auburn area. She was an assistant supervisor for John Hancock Insurance in Auburn more than 10 years. She was a communicant of St. Alphonsus Church. Survivors: Her husband of 47 years, Ralph J.; three sons, Ralph III of Camillus, Mark and Patrick, both of Auburn; two sisters, Betty Allen of Moravia and Theresa DeLong of Oswego; two brothers, Donald Misner of Florida and Ronald Misner of Baldwinsville; six grandchildren. Services: 10:15 a.m. Thursday at Pettigrass Funeral Home and 11 a.m. in St. Alphonsus Church. Burial, St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fleming. Elmer L. Harnden

Elmer L. "E.L." Harnden, 99, of Howlett Hill died Sunday. Born in Syracuse, he lived in the Valley and Onondaga Hill many years. He was a banker for First Trust and Deposit and Key Bank for 45 years. He retired in 1968 as branch manager of the Valley Key Bank. He was active in South Side Businessmen. He was a member of Onondaga Hill United Methodist Church and its Dual Club, and was church treasurer from 1965 to 1972. He served as a Civil Patrol Officer during World War II. His wife, the former Lucille R. Roberts, died in 1966; a daughter, Carol Harnden Sellars, died in 1969. Survivors: Two sons, Stuart of Casper, Wyo., and David R. of Howlett Hill; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter. Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home. Burial, Onondaga Valley Cemetery. Calling hours, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 4612 S. Salina St., Syracuse. Anna C. Karczewski Maxsween, 91, formerly of South Street, Marcellus, died Monday at Van Duyn Home & Hospital. Born in Syracuse, she lived in Marietta and Jordan many years before moving to Marcellus in 1983. She was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church in Marcellus. Her husband, John, died in 1980; a son, John F., died in 1990. Survivors: Two sisters, Lottie Rogala of Syracuse and Frances Lauri of Jordan; four grandchildren, whom she raised, Michael J. and Elizabeth Maxsween, both of Marcellus, Margaret Poswinski of Brockport and Kristen Sites of Chambersburg, Pa. Winifred S. Todd

Winifred S. Todd, 90, formerly of 51 Lincklaen St., Cazenovia, died Monday. Born in St. Davids, Pa., she lived in Cazenovia 20 years. She graduated from Baldwin School in Bryn Mawr, Pa., and attended Ogontz School in  Pennsylvania and University of Redlands in California. She retired in 1981 as a real estate agent in  Pennsylvania after 20 years. She was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Cazenovia and Cazenovia Shakespeare Club. Her first husband, John B. Stetson III, died in 1944; her second husband, Raymond H. Todd, died in 1975. Survivors: Four daughters, Georgia S. Diefendorf and Winifred A. Olmstead, both of Cazenovia, Phoebe Douglas of La Mesa,  Calif., and Priscilla B. Odiorne of West Chester, Pa.; two sons, John B. Stetson IV of Newton Square, Pa., and Raymond H. Todd Jr. of Morristown, N.J.; three sisters, Nancy Byles and Mary Van Campen, both of Vero Beach, Fla., and Martha Jean Parcher of Fort Myers, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. Gerald W. Wright, 78, of county Route 17, Bernhards Bay, died Monday. Born in Freedom, he lived in Brewerton before moving to Bernhards Bay 25 years ago. He retired in 1986 as a truck driver for Matlow Trucking in Syracuse after 31 years. A son, Paul Evans, died in 1981. Survivors: His wife, the former Pearl Cartner; four daughters, Geraldine Dunning of Cato, Gladys Wright of Kirkville, Sharon Pouliot of Arcade and Irene Bryant of Arkansas; two sons, Alfred of Florida and John of Las Vegas; two stepdaughters, Betty Spencer of Hannibal and Cindy Evans of Syracuse; three stepsons, Edward Evans of Brewerton, Russell Evans of  Pennsylvania and William Cartner Jr. of Syracuse; two sisters, Helen Bergholtz of Machias and Amy Wolferd of Farmersville; a brother, Herbert of Wolcott; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. John G. O'Grady

John G. O'Grady, 52, of Muskegon, Mich., died Jan. 21. He lived in Oswego until moving to Muskegon two years ago. He attended Central City Business Institute and graduated from New York University. He was a member of Delta Epsilon Kappa fraternity. He was a field support supervisor for Newkirk Electric and was a member of Teamsters Union 317. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Muskegon. Survivor: A sister, Kathleen O'Grady of Oswego. Memorial services: 9 a.m. today in St. Stephen's Church in Oswego. Sidonia Palkovic Horodowich, 80, of 122 Sagamore Drive, Liverpool, died Wednesday at Loretto. Born in Schenectady, she moved to Liverpool more than six years ago. She graduated from Mount Pleasant High School, Schenectady. She was a communicant of St. Gabriel's Church in Rotterdam and a member of its women's club. Her husband, John, died in 1995. She retired in 1997 after 20 years as a decorator at Syracuse China Co. and also was a cashier at Rite Aid Pharmacies, East Syracuse. Her husband, Jack, died in 1997. Survivors: Two daughters, Pamela Jocko and Vickie Daignault, both of Syracuse; three sons, Edward Daignault, Randy Daignault of Syracuse and John Daignault of Virginia; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Imenia Gandy Walker, 75, of 174 W. Florence Ave., Syracuse, died Thursday. Born in Monroe County, Ala., she attended Alabama public schools. She was co-founder of Bethlehem Temple Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher, superintendent, a member of the board of trustees and treasurer. She was home mission chairwoman for the NYNEPA States Council. She recently became a licensed minister, ministering to the sick at area hospitals and nursing homes. A son, Alfred E., died previously. Survivors: Her husband of 55 years, the Rev. Leon C.; eight daughters, Dorothy McCoy and Marie Crandall, both of Monticello, Lavina Wilson, Cathy Harris, Geneva Tull, Betty Walker, Diane Wright and Sandra Walker, all of Syracuse; six sons, Lincoln, Jessie, Leon Jr. and Douglas, all of Syracuse, Paul of Utica, and William of Richmond, Va.; five sisters, Evie Gandy, Willie Mae Hood and Virgil L. Watson, all of Bay Minette, Ala., Cynthia Gandy and Mattie Dawson, both of Monticello; three brothers, Vernon Gandy of Syracuse, the Rev. Jim Gandy of Monticello and the Rev. A.V.
