She attended St. Patrick's Church in Chittenango and St. Francis Xavier Church in Marcellus. She was a past member of Bridgeport Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and Oneida Moose Club Ladies of the Moose. Her husband, Antonio, died in 1994. Survivors: Two daughters, Maxine Steger of Marcellus and Susan Dubar of Marietta; three sons, Antonio J. Jr. of Durhamville, Angelo J. of Exton, Pa., and Arthur J. of Chittenango; four sisters, Marie English of Lakeland, Fla., Gertrude McCall of Scipio Center, Ann Warobick of North Syracuse and Jean Callea of Auburn; 15 grandchildren; a great-grandson. Russell B. Strawbridge, 50, of 378 Ellis Point Road, Ledyard, died Thursday. Born in Baltimore, he lived there until moving to Central New York in 1987. He was a self-employed painter. Ruth C. Taylor

Ruth C. Lawyer Taylor, 76, of Watertown, formerly of Brewerton, died Friday. Born in Oswegatchie, she graduated from Morristown High School. She was a former member of Calvary Baptist Church in Brewerton and worked as a clerical worker at Acme Foods in Syracuse and as an inspector at General Electric Co. in Liverpool. Survivors: Her husband, Frank; a daughter, Julie Anna  Taylor of Cedarvale; four sisters, Pauline Fleming of Hammond, Delia Simpson of Walden, Frances Austin of Ogdensburg and Jennie Condlin of Orangeburg. Services: Will be announced. Spring burial, Howlett Hill Cemetery. Watson Funeral Home, Central Square, has arrangements. Kenneth L. Byrns, 58, of 507 Stanbridge Road, Morton, Pa., died Jan. 22. Born in Orwell, he lived 25 years in Sandy Creek before moving to  Pennsylvania in 1973. He was a new auto transporter for 25 years with Ford Motor Co. He was a Navy Seabee. Survivors: His wife of 24 years, the former Rosemarie Boyle; two daughters, Jacqueline Reader of New Jersey and Cheryl Sottnick of  Pennsylvania; two stepdaughters, Elaine Breen of Maryland and Debbie Hutzel of New York; a stepson, Edward Zimmerman of Maryland; his mother, Helen Montondo Byrns of Hastings; a brother, Robert J. of Hastings; 13 grandchildren. Catherine M. Doran, 95, of Cayuga died Friday. Born in Auburn, she was a life resident of the Auburn-Cayuga area. Sylvia Fiss, 80, of 1301 Nottingham Road, Jamesville, died Monday. Born in New York City, she was a homemaker. She was a proctor for the New York City board of education from 1970 to 1989 and had worked at Macy's in New York City. She was a Sunday school teacher at Temple Adath Yeshurun. She was heard regularly on the air with her son, "Big Mike" Fiss, radio personality on WZUN-FM (Sunny 102). Her husband of 45 years, Julius, died in 1989. Survivors: Two daughters, Jill Brewer of Manlius and Frannie Franc of New Town, Pa.; a son, Michael of Manlius; a sister, Gladys Berg of Westchester; seven grandchildren. Services: Private. Charles C. Larson

Charles C. Larson, 87, of Sykesville, Md., died Feb. 26 of a heart attack. Born in North Dakota, he lived in Syracuse from 1948 to 1958 and on Ridgecrest Road in DeWitt from 1962 to 2000. He spent summers on Cross Lake. He graduated from North Dakota School of Forestry and University of Minnesota, received a master's degree from University of Vermont in 1943 and a Ph.D. in forestry administration from the College of Forestry and Syracuse University in 1952. He held a certificate in public administration from the Institute of Public Administration in New York City. He was a former dean of the State University College of Environmental Science and Forestry at Syracuse and in 1965 established a World Forestry Institute and was appointed as its director. He served on the SUNY Faculty Senate from 1965 to 1970 and retired from the college in 1983. He served on the town of DeWitt's Environmental Conservation Commission and in the Civilian Conservation Corps. His wife, the former Kerstin Soderstrom, died in 1988. Survivors: A son, C. Erik of Ellicott City, Md.; a daughter, Monica Levine of Shepherdstown, W.Va.; five grandchildren. Memorial services: 2 p.m. May 19 in Hendrick's Chapel. Cremation Society of Maryland, Catonsville, Md., has arrangements. Contributions: ESF College Foundation, 1 Forestry Drive, Syracuse 13210.

Marie Erdine Gasser Murphy, 97, of 750 E. Brighton Ave., Syracuse, died Thursday. She was born in Syracuse and formerly lived in Liverpool. She was a secretary eight years at General Electric Co., retiring in 1970. Her husband, Robert W., died in 1967. Her daughter, Mildred M. Croft, died in 1996. Survivors: A son, William R. of Woodstock, Ga.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren. Services: 9 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph The Worker Church. Burial, Liverpool Cemetery. He was publisher of the Syracuse Banner newspaper. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Dr. Henry W. Schoeneck Jr., 78, of 111 Lafayette Road, Syracuse, died Friday. He was born in Syracuse. He graduated from Syracuse University in 1944 and its College of Medicine in 1947. He was a retired obstetrician-gynecologist. He was a past president of the Onondaga County Medical Society, past president of Community General Hospital's medical staff, a member of Alpha Omega Alpha honorary medical fraternity and Nu Sigma Nu medical fraternity, and a deacon at DeWitt Community Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was in the Public Health Service. His wife, the former Dorothy Wenz, died in 2001. Survivors: A daughter, Barbara Bova of Syracuse; two sons, Dr. Henry W. III of Jamesville and the Rev. Edward of Beaver Falls, Pa.; six grandchildren. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in DeWitt Community Church. Burial, Woodlawn Cemetery.
