"Connie" Clinton, known as Rosebud to her many friends, was known for her sunny disposition and energetic approach to life. It was an attitude she maintained even as her body failed, and earned her the affection of the nurses and doctors who knew and cared for her. "She was always happy, always on the go," said Louise Robinson, a friend from the days both women attended what was then the Tisbury High School. "Everybody liked doing things with her."

Connie was born on Oct. 8, 1933, in Mt. Kisco. She was the daughter of Vineyard musician and artist Wilfred "Willie" Huntington and Julia (Putnam) Huntington of Chilmark, Mass. Her parents divorced shortly after she was born, leaving her to be adopted and raised by her grandfather, Dr. C.R.L. Putnam of New York and Chilmark.

After graduating from the Tisbury School, she went to Cooperstown to attend the Knox Finishing School where she met Donald Clinton, a local man and skilled woodworker who would become her husband. Following her marriage she attended nursing school at Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, where she later worked as a nurse.

The couple spent summers on Martha's Vineyard. In the mid-60s they and their three children moved to the island year-round. For many years, Connie worked as a nurse at the Martha's Vineyard Hospital and as a private duty nurse.

Later, no longer married, she traveled among the three communities she would consider her shared homes until returning to Martha's Vineyard, where she enjoyed reading and spending time with old and new friends at the Portuguese American Club and the Veterans of Foreign Wars post.

She is survived by her three children, D. Stephen Clinton of Arrivaca, Ariz., Norma J. Sigelman of Tisbury, Mass., and Stuart Clinton; half-brothers, Peter Huntington of West Tisbury, Mass., and Simon Huntington of New Hampshire; and numerous cousins and grandchildren.

Gladys H. Rasbach

BRINY BREEZES, Fla. — Gladys Harrison Rasbach went to her eternal rest Sunday evening, March 21, 2004, at her home in Briny Breezes, Fla., where she had resided nearly 40 years.

Gladys, the daughter of Stanley S. and Cora Hall Harrison, was born Aug. 3, 1910, in the village of Milford, where she resided until her graduation from Oneonta State Normal School.

In 1929, she married Floyd B. Rasbach who was the principal of the Milford High School. In September 1936, he became superintendent of the Hunter-Tannersville school district and they resided in Tannersville. He then became superintendent of the Irondequoit school district until his retirement in 1960.

Gladys and Floyd then enjoyed numerous trips across the country in their Airstream trailer, square dancing in every state along the way. They sold their home in Irondequoit and bought a home in Briny Breezes, Fla., where they formed dance clubs and gave lessons for many years.

Floyd served on the Briny Breezes Board of Trustees while she became the chief librarian.

She was predeceased by her husband, Floyd in 1989; her two brothers, Clyde H. in 1988, and Maurice S. in 1997; and her sister-in-law, Madelyn (Mrs. Clyde) in 1999.

Ralph A. Kodrich

MORRIS — Ralph A. Kodrich, 54, of Morris passed away Sunday, April 4, 2004, at his residence with his family and friends surrounding him.

He was born the son of William and Iona (Southworth) Kodrich on Aug. 14, 1949. His mother was undergoing treatment for a tumor and was happily surprised to deliver a son instead. This would follow Ralph throughout his life.

On Aug. 15, 1971, he married Kathleen Brandow of Leeds.

An avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing all his life, one of his favorite sayings was "Perch, pickerel and rabbit" as attested to by his friends. He was president for many years of the Butternut Valley Rod & Gun Club and took great pride in assisting with the annual trout stocking of the local streams. Throughout the years he endeavored to share his joy of the outdoors with the local youth teaching them how to tie flies, fish, and shoot and especially passing down this love to his daughter and granddaughters. He was also a member of the Otsego County Federation of Sportsmen for many years.

Ralph was currently Fire Police Captain for the Morris Fire Department and a former driver and First Responder for the Morris Emergency Squad. While perhaps not the fastest one to respond to calls, he made as many as was possible and faithfully attended meetings and helped at various functions, the most favorite of which was the week at the fair running the firemen's game.

His wit and humor will be missed by all those who knew "Smurf," as he was called. His daughter and two granddaughters were his pride and joy. He always made time for them and was ready to help however he could. He never compared them but accepted each as they were.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen, of 32 years; his daughter, Kathleen Jeanne and husband "JR" Quick; and granddaughters, Kajee and Desiree Quick, all of Unadilla. Also surviving are a brother, William and his wife, Henrietta, of Pennsylvania; a sister, Ruth Williams of Earlton, Fla.; mother-in-law, Catherine M.
