She was a homemaker and retired in 1985 as a realtor for the former Madison Properties in Chittenango. Survivors: Her husband of 58 years, Charles E.; a daughter, Pamela Sebesta of Binghamton; two sons, Dana of Baldwinsville and Ross of Morrisville; a sister, Dorinne Campbell of Chaumont; five grandchildren. Graveside services: 10 a.m. Saturday in  White Chapel Memory Gardens. Calling hours, 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Fairchild & Meech DeWitt Chapel, 3690 Erie Blvd. E., DeWitt. Doris A. Roberts, 83, of Hamilton died Monday. She was born in Utica. She worked at Colgate University's print shop for 35 years. She was a former member of Plymouth Church in Utica and attended St. Mary's Church in Hamilton. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Whitesboro and the Senior Citizens Group in Oriskany Falls. Survivor: A sister, Grace M. Paino of Hamilton. Gertrude Chappel Taber, 99, of Rising Sun, Md., died Sunday. Born in Auburn, she lived in Auburn most of her life before moving to Maryland in 1995. She graduated from Auburn Academic High School. She was an 87-year member of United Church of Auburn and was past member and past noble grand of Auburn Rebekah Lodge. Her husband, Howard K., died in 1986. Survivors: A son, Kenneth C. of Elkton, Md.; a sister, Elizabeth Langham of Raquette Lake; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Langham Funeral Home. Richard W. Woodford Jr

Richard W. "Ricky" Woodford Jr., 48, of 1520 Berwyn Road, LaFayette, died Tuesday. Born in Syracuse, he graduated from Fabius-Pompey High School in 1972 and attended Tompkins County Community College. He owned Ricky Woodford Excavating and had worked for Woodford Bros. He was a life member of Apulia Fire Department and was a member of Land Improvement Contractors of America and the National Rifle Association. Survivors: His companion, Linda Casey; his parents, Dick and Polly Woodford of LaFayette; two sisters, Lynda Wheeler of Arizona and Patricia Holbrook of LaFayette. Services: 11 a.m. Friday in Pompey United Church. Burial, Maplewood Cemetery. Calling hours, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in the church, Academy Street, Pompey. Jones; his parents, David B. and Gloria  Jones of Morrisville; two sisters, Melissa  Jones of Morrisville and Margaret Sitzes of Canastota; four brothers, David T., James and Michael, all of Morrisville, and Benjamin of Sheds. Louise E. Sauter Barner, 84, formerly of Mariposa Street, Syracuse, died Monday at Loretto. She was a life resident of Syracuse. She worked at Drumlins and Peter's Grocery Store for several years. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star. Her husband, Harold F., died in 1982; a daughter, Dorothy J. Jamelske, died in 1999; another daughter, Carol R. Johns, died in 2000. Survivors: Five grandchildren, including Cynthia A. Johns, Bradley W. Johns and Brian Jamelske, all of Syracuse; three great-grandchildren. Services: Noon Thursday at Whelan Bros. Funeral Home. Raymond C. Bass

Raymond C. Bass, 72, of 2 South St., Cazenovia, died Monday at Crouse Community Center in Morrisville. Born in Buffalo, he lived in New Woodstock before moving to Cazenovia. He graduated from Cazenovia Central School. He retired as an electrician from Magnavox in Manlius. He was a member of the Cazenovia and New Woodstock volunteer fire departments and Cazenovia Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps. He was commissioner for Pop Warner football. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors: His wife, Clara J.; a daughter, Cynthia Ward of Kemah,  Texas; a son, Thomas C. of Sandpoint, Idaho; a brother, Robert of Duluth, Minn.; four grandchildren. Memorial services: 3 p.m. Thursday in Federated Church of New Woodstock. Private burial, Evergreen Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the church after the service. Richard F. John R. Case

John R. Case, 73, of 467 Firelane No. 30, Moravia, died Monday. Born in Irvington, N.J., he graduated from Lehigh University and received a certificate of advanced study from Indiana University and a master of divinity from Colgate-Rochester School of Divinity. He retired in 1986 as a chemical engineer from IBM in Owego after 25 years and had also been manager of industrial engineering, director of planning and director of manufacturing. He was pastor of First Presbyterian Union Church in Owego. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors: His wife, the former Patricia Gordon; four daughters, Susan Rambo of Kennett Square, Pa., Beth Woolston of West Glenville, Polly Codner of Groton and Allison Terwilliger of Rochester; four grandchildren. Services: 2 p.m. Sunday in First Presbyterian Union Church. No calling hours.  White Chapel Funeral Home, Auburn, has arrangements. David L. Caughey, 70, of 4 Albany St., Homer, died Sunday. He was born in Cortland. He was a union carpenter for several years and owned and operated Caughey and Sons Construction in Homer. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. A daughter, Nanette Caughey, died previously. Survivors: His wife of 48 years, the former Jean Thompson; two daughters, Teresa Little of Cortland and Kris Wakula of Homer; five sons, Dan of Cortland, Michael of Homer, Kevin of Cobleskill, Dave of LaFayette and Joe of Ballston Spa; a sister, Margaret Sears of Preble; 14 grandchildren. Her husband, Preston Sr., and a son, Richard C. Sr., died previously. Survivors: Three daughters, Mary Sipp Tillman, Cherry Love-Duncan and Pearle B. Singleton, all of Auburn; three sons, Preston Jr. of Camden, N.J., Willie Sr. and Robert Sr., both of Auburn; 40 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
