Myrna M. Hatton

SIDNEY CENTER — Myrna M. Hatton, 65, of Sidney Center, former longtime resident of East Pharsalia and Preston, passed away Wednesday morning, May 18, 2005, at her home after a three-year bout with cancer.

The daughter of LeVear and Rollena (Brown) Bush, Myrna was born in East Pharsalia on May 24, 1939. Raised by Rollie and Vida Brown, she grew up in the East Pharsalia and Preston areas, where she attended the local schools.

Myrna worked for Norwich Togs, Champion and Amphenol of Sidney, with her last employment being in the cafeteria at Mead Westvaco of Sidney.

In 1990, Myrna married William G. Hatton. She had made her home in Sidney Center since that time. She loved to go camping, was especially fond of her pets and loved animals in general.

Myrna is survived by her husband, William G. Hatton of Sidney Center; her children, Sonya Lindenthaler of Guilford and Wayne Howe of Norwich; and three grandchildren, Brittany and Brandon Lindenthaler and Sheena Howe. Many aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.

Funeral services for Myrna will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 22, at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Rebekah Sweet, pastor of the Broad Street United Methodist Church of Norwich, will officiate. After the funeral, there will be a gathering at the Sidney Center Fire Department. Friends may call from noon until the service at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

John K. Lohmann

NEW LISBON — John Karl Lohmann, 62, of New Lisbon died Wednesday, May 11, 2005, in Oneonta.

There are no known survivors.

Graveside funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 23, in Hillington Cemetery, Morris.

Arrangements are by the Johnston Funeral Home of Morris.

Lucille R. Quirk

DELHI — Graveside service for R. (Lucy) Quirk, 90, of Delhi, who died March 3, 2005, will be at 1 p.m. Monday, May 23, in the Woodland Cemetery, Delhi, with Father Edward Ryan officiating.

Arrangements are with the MacArthur Funeral Home of Delhi.

Edward C. Simonds

SIDNEY — A memorial service for Edward C. Simonds, formerly of Sidney, who passed away Jan. 16, 2005, is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, May 23, at the First Congregational Church in Sidney. The Rev. Pat Robinson will officiate.

Burial will be in the Portlandville Cemetery.

Arrangements are by C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 121 Main St., Sidney.

Georgeen M. Hansen

WALTON — Georgeen M. Hansen, 57, of Walton died Thursday, May 19, 2005, at O’Connor Hospital in Delhi.

Mrs. Hansen was born Jan. 7, 1948, in St. Petersburg, Fla., to Ralph E. and Dorothy Allen Brundage.

She married Kenneth Hansen at The Church of St. John the Baptist in Walton on Oct. 30, 1965.

Mrs. Hansen lived in Walton for the past 40 years. Before that she lived in Delhi. She was a member of the Riverside Alliance Church and was active in 4-H in her younger years in Delhi. Georgeen was a devoted wife and loving mother who had an amazing amount of courage and who always had a smile for everyone.

She is survived by her father, Ralph, and stepmother, Bonnie Brundage; her husband, Kenneth of Walton; and her children, Kenneth Jr. of Walton, Selinda (Darren) Boice of Sidney Center and Rain L. (Rich) Sarrantonio of Walton. She is also survived by her sisters, Carolee Moore of Lee, Mass., and June (Mark) Davis of California; brother Gary (Cher) Brundage of Rockdale; and seven grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her mother, Dorothy, her brothers, Dennis and Wayne Brundage, and sister, Mary Hawkins.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 23, at Lyon Bros.-Way Funeral Home, corner of North and Delaware streets, Walton.

Donations to the Residents Council at Delaware County Countryside Care Center or the Huntington’s Disease Society of America in her name would be appreciated.

Barbara K. Fletcher

MORRIS — Barbara K. Fletcher, 60, of Morris died Friday, May 20, 2005, at her home with her loving family at her side.

She was born May 1, 1945, in Copiague, the daughter of Walter and Amelia (Lingel) Mikol.

She married Edward Fletcher on March 15, 1964. She was well-known for her culinary skills and had been the cook at Sal’s Pizzeria in Morris and Mrs. B’s in Oneonta. She had also worked as a bartender at the "Timbers" in Davenport and in her younger years was a waitress at the Red Carpet Inn in Stamford. She also worked in the greenhouses at Frazier and Sons in Oneonta.

She was a very active member and council representative of the Atonement Lutheran Church of Oneonta. She enjoyed her flowers, church and especially her grandchildren.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Edward Fletcher Jr. of Morris; her children, Edward Fletcher III and his wife, Sue, of Morris, Scott Fletcher and his wife, Tammy, of Otego, Dawn Fletcher and her fiancee, Jerry Morse, of Morris, and Adam Fletcher of Morris; and her grandchildren, Scott Fletcher Jr., Patrick, Michael, Allie, Angel, Edward and Anthony Fletcher, and Kathryn, Christopher and Isabella Card. Alex, Keeana Speenburgh and Desmond Speenburgh, as well as two brothers, Allen Mikol and wife Lorraine of Otego, and Warren Mikol and wife Diana of Lincoln, Calif., also survive.

There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Those who wish are asked to donate to Catskill Area Hospice, 542 Main St., Oneonta, NY 13820, in Barbara’s memory.

Funeral arrangements are by the Johnston Funeral Home of Morris.

Clyde ’Pete’ Gray

MASONVILLE — Committal services for Clyde "Pete" Gray of Masonville will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 21, in Masonville Cemetery.

Arrangements are by C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St., Sidney.

Aleen Sommer All

ONEONTA — Graveside services for Aleen Sommer All, who passed away Jan. 30, 2005, at A.O. Fox Nursing Home, Oneonta, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2005, in the Bundy Cemetery, Otego.

Funeral arrangements are by the Bookhout Funeral Home of Otego.

John V. Hilsinger

LAURENS — A graveside memorial service for John Victor Hilsinger Sr., 83, who passed away Jan. 8, 2005, will be at 10 a.m. Sunday, May 29, 2005, in Cook Cemetery, West Oneonta, with members of the Laurens Masonic Lodge No. 548 officiating.

Mary J. Clink

ONEONTA — Mary J. Clink, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Saturday, May 21, 2005.

Mary was born in Binghamton on Feb. 27, 1940, the daughter of Torvald M. and Jennie M. (Assone) Nilson. She spent most of her early years in the Binghamton area, where she graduated from Harpursville High School in 1956.

While in Binghamton, she met her future husband, Howard E. Clink Sr. They married a short time later, and shared 42 wonderful years together.

Mary spent almost 30 years in scouting, all with Cub Scout Pack 24, where in 1997 she was awarded the Silver Beaver. During her tenure with Pack 24, Mary held various positions and continued to do so until the time of her death.

She is survived by two daughters, Michelle and Diane of Binghamton; fours sons, Christopher and Trish of Ladson, S.C., Howard Jr. and Suzanne of Rochester, Alan and Jennifer of Oneonta, and Bruce of Troy; 11 grandchildren, Jimmy Earl, Samy Jon, Amanda, Katrina, Megan, Melissa, Stephen, Mark, Jessica, Rebecca and Ismel; two brothers, David and Walter Pratt of Port Crane; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Howard Sr.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2005, at Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz St., Oneonta.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2005, with Major Thomas Applin of the Salvation Army officiating, at the funeral home. Friends are invited to join the family immediately after the funeral service at the Moose Lodge.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Otschodela Council BSA, Route 23, Southside, Oneonta, NY or the Catskill Area Hospice, 542 Main St., Oneonta, NY 13820.

Funeral arrangements are by the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz St., Oneonta.

Claude Eli Clapper

CANAJOHARIE — Claude Eli Clapper, 75, went to be with his Lord on May 20, 2005.

He was born June 6, 1929, in Milford, the son of the late Lorenzo and Cora Clapper.

He was an Army veteran of World War II. He worked at Beechnut until his retirement in the mid 1980s.

He was an avid bowler and outdoorsman. Claude enjoyed a close relationship with his extended family. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Little Falls.

Claude is survived by his wife, Patty Clapper; sons, Shawn, Steven, Harry and Wayde; daughters, Dawn, Alecia, Jackie and Debbie; sister, Jean; brothers, David, Clark, Gordon and Ray; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Eleanor, and children Michelle and Lorenzo; sisters, Alta, Dorothy, Millie and Golda Mae.

There will be no calling hours.

A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2005, at the First Baptist Church, 555 Albany St., Little Falls, with the Rev. Donald Dixon officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mohawk Valley Christian Academy, 156 West Monroe St., Little Falls, NY 13365.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Ottman Funeral Home, Cherry Valley.

Norman A. Mollen

SOUTH VALLEY — Graveside committal services for Mr. Norman A. Mollen, 63, who passed away at his residence Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004, will be at 1 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2005, in the South Valley Cemetery, South Valley, with the Rev. Terry Brant officiating. Burial will follow.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Ottman Funeral Home, Cherry Valley.

Elizabeth Marks

MARGARETVILLE — Graveside services for Elizabeth Virginia (Ginny) Marks of Margaretville, who died Feb. 17, 2005, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 29, 2005, in the Margaretville Cemetery on Cemetery Road in Margaretville.

Arrangements are by the Hynes Funeral Home, Margaretville.

Virginia Minnerly

FLORIDA — Graveside services for Virginia (Brady) Minnerly, who died Feb. 7, 2005, in Florida, formerly of Roxbury and Grand Gorge, will be conducted by the Rev. Richard Dykstra at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2005, in the Fairview Cemetery, Grand Gorge.

Arrangements are by the Miller Funeral Home, Roxbury.

Harold E. Young

WARREN — Graveside committal services with military honors for Mr. Harold Eldred Young Sr., 83, who passed away Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 27, 2005, in the Roseboom Cemetery, Roseboom.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Ottman Funeral Home, Cherry Valley.

John P. Sheldon

OTEGO — John P. Sheldon, 60, of Otego died at the home of his daughter, Erin Sheldon, Sunday, May 22, 2005, in Mount Vision.

He was born Dec. 11, 1944, in Oneonta, the son of Paul and Helen Sheldon.

A lifelong area resident, John graduated from Otego High School, class of 1962.

He served his country in the United States Air Force, serving in Biloxi, Miss., as well as in France and then in the Air Force Reserve before being honorably discharged.

John was a self-employed licensed electrician in the local area for more than 20 years. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing as well as hobby farming.

John was also a member of the Otego American Legion and the Otego Rod & Gun Club and a lifelong member of the NRA.

He is survived by his daughter, Joan-Marie Sheldon of Plattsburgh; his daughter, Erin Sheldon and her fiance, Allan Barnes, of Mount Vision; his daughter, Sarah Sheldon of Otego; and two grandchildren, Sophia and Elias Barnes of Mount Vision. His sister, Marie Hilfiger of Windsor, and several nieces and nephews also survive him.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2005, at the Bookhout Funeral Home, 34 River St., Otego, with John W. Truscott, commissioned lay preacher, officiating.

Burial with military honors will follow in Otego Evergreen Cemetery, Otego.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2005, at the Bookhout Funeral Home, 34 River St., Otego, at which time the family will be in attendance.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney & Urology Foundation of America, 1250 Broadway, Suite 2001, New York, NY 10001 in memory of John P. Sheldon.

Arrangements are by the Bookhout Funeral Home of Otego.
