She was the former owner of Jean's Ceramics, Central Square, and had worked at several area dry cleaners. She was a member of the Loners on Wheels Association. Her husband, Myron, died in 1971. Survivors: A daughter, Gail D. Atkinson of North Syracuse; three sisters, Pauline Armstrong of Jamesville, Phyllis O'Hara of New Woodstock and Roberta Golden of Greensboro, N.C.; a brother, Elden Langley of Waynesboro, Tenn.; one grandchild; three great-grandchildren. Frances Iannolo Guido, 79, of Syracuse, died Monday at James Square Health and Rehabilitation Centre. She was born in Syracuse. She retired in 1986 after 35 years with the Syracuse Police Department. She was a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Church. She was a volunteer for 10 years at St. Joseph's Hospital. Survivors: Her husband, Joseph R.; a son, Frank J. of Syracuse; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren. William C. Herman

William C. Herman, 78, of East Syracuse died Saturday. Born in Syracuse, he lived in East Syracuse most of his life. He graduated from East Syracuse High School in 1941. He retired in 1983 as a night chief clerk for Conrail after 41 years. He was a member of First United Church of East Syracuse, Loyal Order of Moose 625, Arthur Butler American Legion Post 359, East Syracuse, and the Camillus Gun Club. He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II. Survivors: His wife of 57 years, the former Betty J. Wagner; four daughters, Bonnie Kackison and Nancy Herman, both of East Syracuse, Barbara Previtire and Debra Houlihan, both of Kirkville; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday in First United Church of East Syracuse. Burial, Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum, Syracuse. Madelyn Klassen Holbert, 97, of Rochester died May 14. She was a life resident of Syracuse before moving to Rochester a year ago. She was a secretary for the federal government. Elizabeth J. "Betty" O'Neil Jeffries, 81, of Ford Drive, North Syracuse, died Monday at Loretto. She was born in Syracuse. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in North Syracuse and was a member of the church's Altar and Rosary Society. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary Post 7290. Her husband, Jack, died in 1995. Survivors: Three daughters, Anne Jeffries, Sharon Oppedisano and Susan Wenger, all of North Syracuse; two sons, James of Rouses Point and Patrick of Cato; a sister, Mary Collins of Mattydale; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; one great-great grandson. He was an Army veteran of World War II. His first wife, the former Ruth Piche, and his second wife, the former Beatrice Renaud, died previously. He was a veteran of the Korean War and received the prisoner of war medal and the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster. His wife, Alice, died in 1984; a son, Edward, died in 1998.
