Carmelia (Millie) Caraco

Mrs. Carmelia (Millie) Caraco, 88, of Montgomery St., Johnstown, passed away Sunday at her son's home in the town of Mayfield, surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 25, 1916 in Johnstown, a daughter of Carmelo and Francesca Consiglio Siligato. She graduated from Johnstown High School; she was employed for many years as a glove maker by Conroy Glove Co. in Johnstown. She was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church, the Alter Rosary Society of the church, VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Shirley Luck Senior Center of Johnstown. Millie was known to her family as its matriarch. She was married to Salvatore Caraco on Jan. 25, 1948; he passed away on Nov. 15, 1972.

Survivors include children, Joseph (Ginny) Caraco of Camden, S.C., Carmen (Michelle) Caraco of Mayfield, Roseann (Bill) Doran of Broadalbin, Salvatore (Cherene) Caraco of Keeseville, N.Y., Francis (Elizabeth) Caraco of Johnstown, N.Y.; grandchildren, Kelli (Paul) Piazza of Travis Air Force, California, Michael (Mary Ann) Caraco of N. Bennington, Vt., Jon Caraco of Mayfield, Amy-Beth Caraco of Gloversville, Jeffrey Caraco of Northville, Adam Caraco of Mayfield, Chelsea Caraco of Mayfield, Donald Caraco of Pennsylvania, Catherine Caraco of Johnstown, Miranda Metz of Pennsylvania, Joseph Doran of Broadalbin, Emily Doran of Broadalbin, Kylie Caraco of Gloversville, Brooke Caraco of Gloversville; great grandchildren, Jonathan Piazza, Claire Piazza of California, Christian Caraco of N. Bennington, Vt.; nieces and nephews; cousins.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church with the Rev. James Fitzmaurice, pastor, as celebrant. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Barter & Donnan Funeral Home. Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in the spring. Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Mt. Valley Hospice, 73 N. Main St., Gloversville, NY 12078.

George Edward Langr

Atty. George Edward Langr, 77, of 206 S. Market St., Johnstown, N.Y., passed away Saturday evening at the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility. He was born March 10, 1927 in Northampton, N.Y., the son of Frank and Antonia Masek Langr. He was a graduate of Gloversville H.S. and Union College. Atty. Langr received a L.L.B. and a doctor of law degree from George Washington Law School. After graduation, he worked for the late T. Cuthell Calderwood, former Fulton County Judge, Surrogate and Judge Surrogate. In 1952, he opened his private law practice in Johnstown and continued until his retirement in 1998. In 1960 he became Johnstown City Attorney and served for many years. He was appointed a N.Y.S. Hearing Examiner in Family Court, serving both Fulton and Montgomery counties until his retirement.

Atty. Langr was a veteran of the U.S. Navy in WW II, in the Pacific and served aboard the U.S.S. Pitt, APA 223. He instigated and enjoyed the reunions of the original crew. He served as secretary of the Johnstown Chamber of Commerce and was an incorporator of the Johnstown Bicentennial. He was secretary of the former Johnstown Hospital, a member and past president of the Fulton County Bar Assoc. and a former member of the Young Men's Republican Club. He was a member of the Royal Mountain Ski Club, the Burroughs Nature Study Club, the Johnstown Moose, the Concordia Singing Society, the Johnstown American Legion, and the LST Assoc. Atty. Langr was also a 50 year member of Fish House Masonic Lodge of Northville and St. Patrick's Masonic Lodge of Johnstown. He was a life member of the Johnstown VFW No. 510 and a life member of the National Steeplechase Assoc.

Atty. Langr is survived by his wife, the former Dorothea Bens of Johnstown, whom he married on Dec. 26, 1949; two daughters, Denine Ackerbauer and her husband, Chris of Sun Prairie, Wis. and Donna Law and her husband John of Niskayuna, N.Y. He is also survived by four grandsons, Brett, Matthew, Christopher and Michael; one granddaughter, Kimberly; and two sisters, Frances Perrone and Helen Weeks; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Frank; and two sisters, Edith Morlock and Martha Scribner.
Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wed. at the Ehle Funeral Home, 15 N. William St., Johnstown, N.Y. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the 1st U. Methodist Church of Johnstown. Interment will be at Leatherstocking Crematory, Cherry Valley, N.Y. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of choice.

Mary M. Graziano

Mrs. Mary M. Graziano, 90, formerly of Temple Street, died Wednesday evening at the Wells Nursing Home after a long illness. Born in Johnstown May 7, 1912, the daughter of Frank and Susanna Skoda, Mrs. Graziano was a housewife and a communicant of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church. On July 4, 1937, she married Samuel Graziano, who survives. Also survived by her son, Francis Graziano and his wife, Angel, of Malta, N.Y.; two grandchildren, Salvatore Graziano and Christine Parker. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, 9:30 a.m., at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church. There will be no visiting hours. Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wells Nursing Home. Arrangements are being handled by the Amico Funeral Home.

Imelda A. Davis

Imelda A. Davis, 80, of Hilltop Drive, Edinburg, died Saturday, August 27, 2005 at home following a long illness. She was born on June 26, 1925 in Manhattan, NY, the daughter of Peter and Katherine Gaffrey McDonough. She was a graduate of Queens College and received her Master's Degree from Hunter College. She was employed as a School Teacher and was also a homemaker.

Imelda was married on August 23, 1952 to James Davis Jr. She was a member of the Sacandaga Garden Club and was a communicant of St. Francis Church and a member of the Rosary Society.

Survivors include her husband, James Davis Jr. of Edinburg; three sons, James G. Davis of Montvale, NJ, Robert F. Davis and wife Karen of Westchester, PA and Brian M. Davis and wife Anne of Medina, Ohio; one daughter, Mary J. Luthin and husband William of Warwick, NY; two brothers, Vincent McDonough of Vernon, NJ and Frank McDonough of Palm Coast, FL; nine grandchildren, William J. Luthin, Brian P. Luthin, Timothy D. Luthin, Kristen Davis, Jennifer Davis, Sarah Davis, Brian Davis Jr., Patrick Davis and Nicholas Davis. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Friends may call on Tuesday, August 30, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Northville Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Northville. Burial will be in Robinson Cemetery, Edinburg. Howard G. Marlitt Jr.

Howard G. Marlitt Jr. passed away Aug. 25, 2005. He was predeceased by his father, Howard G. Marlitt Sr.

Survivors include his wife, Pamela and three stepdaughters, Lacey, Amanda and Ashley, all of Hornell, NY; two sons, Howard and Timothy of Gloversville; two daughters, Amy of Gloversville and Krisondra of Alaska; mother, Elizabeth Robbs; stepmother, Shirley Marlitt, both of Gloversville; three sisters, Elizabeth (companion, Cliff Van Horn) Marlitt of N.C., Sally (Richard) hall of Saratoga Springs, NY, Kelly (Robert) Marriott of N.C.; several nieces and nephews, 1 great-nephew and 1 great-niece; and one lifelong friend, Joseph B. McRedmond of Fonda, N.Y.

Charles W. Burkart Sr.

Mr. Charles W. Burkart Sr., 94, of Pineview Commons, Johnstown, passed away Monday, August 4, at Nathan Littauer Hospital after a brief illness. He was born February 2, 1909 in Schenectady, N.Y., the son of William A. and Bessie Brand Burkart. He attended schools in Albany and Springfield, Mass. Mr. Burkart served in the Army in the European Theater from 1943 until 1945. For 47 years, Mr. Burkart was employed as a ticket agent for the N.Y. Central, Penn Central and Amtrack railroads. He came to the Fulton County area after his retirement in 1973 and was a part owner in Demi's Liquor Store and managed the Royal Mt. Ski Shop for two years.

Mr. Burkart was united in marriage to the former Florence Schade on July 31, 1937. She passed away Nov. 23, 1994. He is survived by two daughters, Shirley Mounsey of Newnan, Georgia and Sara Ann (Sally) Burkart of Gloversville; and one son, Robert G. Burkart and his wife Robin of Mayfield. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. A son, Col. Charles W. Burkart Jr. was declared missing in action in Vietnam in 1966. He was also predeceased by a grandson, Robert G. Burkart Jr.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the Ehle Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 8, at Memory's Garden Cemetery, Shaker Road, Albany, N.Y. Arrangements are by the Ehle Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.

Doris Baldwin

Doris Baldwin, 58, of Gloversville, died Wednesday at her home. Born August 11, 1944 in Gloversville, she was the daughter of Clyde and Gladys Vickery Wilder. She was a 1962 graduate of Gloversville High School and a life long area resident.

From 1962 to 1992, Mrs. Baldwin was employed as a bookkeeper for the former Fulton County Bank which became the NBT Bank. She was later employed by the Gloversville Enlarged School District as a cafeteria aide.

She was a member of the Fremont St. United Methodist Church and a former member of the Johnstown Moose Lodge.
On August 12, 1967 she married Price D. Baldwin. He predeceased her on September 5, 2001. She was also predeceased by two sisters, Beverly Ellis and Edna Buckley.

Mrs. Baldwin is survived by one daughter, Stefanie Veeder and her husband Tim of Gloversville; one sister, Dorothy Ellis of Gloversville; three grandchildren, Megan J. Veeder, Lacie R. Veeder and Donald M. Veeder; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Hollenbeck Funeral Home, 4 Second Ave., Gloversville, where a funeral will immediately follow with the Rev. Wayne Jones officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Assn.

Percy Fudger

Percy Fudger, 94, of the town of Ephratah, died Thursday, Aug. 7, at Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility after a short illness. Born July 5, 1909 in England, the son of Frederick and Martha Philpott Fudger. He attended Johnstown schools, then served in the U.S. Army during WW II.
He worked several years in textiles for the former Mohawk Carpet Co. in Amsterdam.

Mr. Fudger enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was married to Capatolla Stahl in Syracuse from Sept. 8, 1936 to Jan. 24, 1983.

He is survived by brothers, Albert Fudger of Johnstown, James Fudger of Northville and Frederick Fudger of California; nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by three brothers, Wilfred, Henry, Wesley Fudger; and three sisters, Rhoda Walrath, Alice Crowter and Margaret Conrad.

The funeral will be on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. from Barter & Donnan Funeral Home, 1 N. Melcher St., Johnstown. The Rev. R.W. Williams, chaplain of Mt. Valley Hospice will officiate. Burial will be in Rockwood Cemetery. Calling hours will be Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Barter & Donnan Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Lucille E. Sanders

Lucille E. Sanders, 77, of Gloversville, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, with her loving family at her side. She was born in Danube, N.Y. (Herkimer County), on September 18, 1925, daughter of the late Emery and Lilly Hayes Sanders. She was educated in Canajoharie schools, and graduated from Canajoharie High School. Lucille dedicated her life to helping others. As a nurse's aide, she worked at the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility for many years, retiring in 1993. Devoted to family, her children and grandchildren were always first and foremost in her life. She is survived by her loving children, Joyce Whitman, Susan Claus, Amiee Brand, all of Gloversville, Maria A. Shibley of St. Johnsville, David B. Shibley and Brian Shibley, both of Gloversville and John Shibley of Mayfield. Dear sisters, Leona Shibley of Sprakers and Ruth Heron of Nelliston. Fourteen special grandchildren. Four great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Bernard Sanders; a granddaughter, Melissa Roll and her stepfather, Stanley Spaulding, who helped raise her since childhood. It was the request of Lucille to have no calling hours. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility Auxiliary, 847 Co. Hwy. 122, Gloversville or Mt. Valley Hospice, 73 N. Main St., Gloversville 12078.

James I. McKenna

James I. McKenna, 81, of Piseco, NY, joined his beloved wife of 56 years, Marion Rose, when he entered into eternal rest on August 7, 2003. He was born in Brooklyn, NY, on July 17, 1922 and raised in Queens, NY, the son of Francis and Susan Brady McKenna.

Jim served in the Navy and then was employed as a Railroad conductor for the Long Island Railroad in Long Island, NY. He was a member of the United Transportation Union and also attended the St. James Roman Catholic Church in Lake Pleasant. Jim loved spending summers in Speculator, which he had done since he was 7 years old. Upon his retirement from the Long Island Railroad, Jim moved his family to Piseco, where he resided until his death.

Jim was united in marriage to Marion Dineen on April 5, 1944. She predeceased him on October 13, 2000.
Survivors include his son, James William McKenna of Lake Pleasant NY; his daughter, Susan Norman of Mayfield, NY; his sister, Elinor Murphy of Dingman's Ferry, PA; and two grandchildren, Melanie and Joshua Norman of Mayfield, NY. He was predeceased by his two brothers, Walter and Robert McKenna.

Friends may call Sunday, August 10, 2003 at the Northville Funeral Service from 6 to 8 p.m. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 11, 2003 at St. James Roman Catholic Church in Lake Pleasant at 11 a.m. with Father Paul Kelly as celebrant. Burial will be in Higgins Bay Cemetery, Piseco. Memorial contributions may be made to the Piseco Ambulance Squad.

Roger C. Finch

Mr. Roger C. Finch, 61, of South Shore Rd., Fish House, died suddenly on Wednesday, September 8, 2004 at Glens Falls Hospital.

He was born on July 29, 1943 in Broadalbin, a son of Gordon and Esther LePiere Finch. He was a 1961 graduate of Broadalbin High School and served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Mr. Finch was a steam fitter, employed by General Electric Co. of Schenectady for 35 yrs. until his retirement in December of 2003.
He was a member of Broadalbin American Legion Post No. 337 and was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying camping and fishing and had an extreme love for his family.

Mr. Finch was married to his wife of 24 years, Brenda K. Quillan Finch, who survives.

He is also survived by his mother, Esther I. Finch of Broadalbin; four sons, Roger C. Finch Jr. and his wife Soni and Vincent C. Finch and his wife Chrissy, both of Greenfield Center, Chad E. Finch Sr. and companion Magen Cole of Gloversville and Robert J. Farrington Sr. and his wife Angela of Broadalbin; a daughter, Lacey R. Finch and companion Ryan Hayes of Northville; two brothers, Robert G. Finch and wife Mary Ellen of Edinburg and David A. Finch and wife Edna of Fultonville; two sisters, Patricia A. Ferguson and husband Roger of Broadalbin and Flora M. Howitt and husband David of Northville; six grandchildren, Todd Farrington, Robert Farrington Jr., Helena, Jessie and Alexia Finch and Chad Finch Jr.; a favorite uncle, Everett L. LePiere and wife Norma of Broadalbin; several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his father, Gordon Finch, who died on May 8, 1989.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Jeffords & Stewart Funeral Home, 85 W. Main St., Broadalbin. Funeral services will be held at Northampton United Methodist Church at Fish House on Monday at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Brad Broyles officiating. Interment will take place at Broadalbin-Mayfield Rural Cemetery, Broadalbin.

Donald R. 'Don' Krieger

Donald R. "Don" Krieger, 81, a long time St. Johnsville resident, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 8, 2004 at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam, NY.

He was born January 21, 1923 in St. Johnsville, the son of the late Edward and Emma (Kraft) Krieger and was a graduate of St. Johnsville High School.

He was married to Estella E. Pendrak on August 1, 1953 at St. James Church in Fort Plain. The couple shared a blessed union of marriage for 50 years until the passing of Mrs. Krieger on October 17, 2003.
Donald was a World War II Army veteran, enlisting on January 30, 1943 and was honorably discharged on February 20, 1946 with the rank of technician forth grade. While serving his country, Donald received the following medals: American Theater Service Medal, European African Middle Eastern Theater Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal.

Mr. Krieger was last employed at the former Mohawk Data Science in Herkimer and was of the Lutheran faith.

"Don" loved his family and friends which was proven by the care and compassion that he expressed to them. An avid outdoorsman, who was one of the founders and past president of the former St. Johnsville Snowbirds.

Survivors include a son, Donald Krieger and his wife Tina of Canajoharie; two daughters, Donna Dean and companion, Tom Ragonese of Canajoharie and Debra Roorda and husband Sam of Herkimer; a brother, Richard Krieger and wife Jane of Mentor, Ohio; two grandsons, Jordan and Justin Roorda; and two step-grandchildren, Sam Roorda and Amber Holden; two step-great grandchildren, Devyn and Kellan Roorda; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at West St. Johnsville Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are by the Smith-Woody and Enea Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville, NY. All memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Jeffery C. Miller

Mr. Jeffery C. Miller, 46, of Gloversville, died Thursday, September 9, 2004 at home after a brief illness.

He was born February 4, 1958 in Amsterdam.

Jeff was a graduate of Gloversville High School and BOCES.
He was a member of the Adirondack Baptist Church, Pine Tree Rifle Club and was an avid bowler and bowling in leagues in Gloversville and Johnstown, attending stock car races for over 28 years, he was also a Fonda Speedway fan, working in the pit crew for John Marsh.

Jeff was employed by Loomis Fargo and operated J&R Enterprises.

On April 10, 1976, he married Ruth Berry Miller and she died March 2, 2004.

Survivors include two sons, Eric (Jody) Miller of Fultonville and Bill Miller of Gloversville; one daughter, Amy Miller of Gloversville; one brother, Aaron Miller of Mayfield; his mother, Janet Walter Miller of Johnstown; and one grandson, Anthony Miller; nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his father, William C. Miller.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at the Adirondack Baptist Church, 1431 St. Hwy. 29, Gloversville.

Friends and family may call today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the church.

Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Adirondack Church Building Fund.

Arrangements are by the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 East Main Street, Johnstown.

Dario "Diz" Corsi

Mr. Dario "Diz" Corsi, 73, of Johnstown, died Thursday, September 9, 2004 at the Stratton V.A. Medical Center Albany, after a long illness.

He was born January 26, 1931, in Johnstown, a son of the late Adamo and Josephine Iacaboni Corsi.

Diz was a member of the American Legion, and served his country in the U.S. Air Force, during the Korean Conflict and Viet Nam War, until his retirement.
Survivors include three sons Patrick Corsi of Johnstown, Michael Corsi of North Carolina, and Joseph Corsi of California; one daughter Tina Corsi of Syracuse; one brother Anthony Corsi of Clifton Park; three sisters Nancy Krosky of Colonie, Louise O'lucci of Johnstown, and Penny Neri of Johnstown; five grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Friends and family may call on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc. 215 East Main Street, Johnstown.

Interment will be in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.

Dario 'Diz' Corsi

Mr. Dario "Diz" Corsi, 73, of Johnstown, died Thursday, September 9, 2004 at the Stratton V.A. Medical Center Albany, after a long illness.

Joseph J. Mascardi

Mr. Joseph J. Mascardi, 87, of Gloversville, died Friday at the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility, where he had been a patient since 2002. Born in New York City, November 8, 1916, he was the son of the late Jiulio and Mary Bernardine Mascardi. Early in his life, he worked for the National Parks Service in the west. For much of his life, he was employed in the dye house of the former Mohasco Industries of Amsterdam. He also worked in the Parks Department for the city of Gloversville for many years, retiring in the 1970s. He was a member of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church, the Gloversville Senior Citizens and of the former Foresters Lodge Bowling League. Mr. Mascardi always had a great love for the outdoors and enjoyed many sporting activities. Until a few years ago, he was active in bicycle riding, both cross country and down hill skiing and early had enjoyed water skiing. He was married May 20, 1939 to Mary Nicosia Mascardi, who died in 2002. Survivors include his children, Vincent Mascardi Sr. and Julie Hackel, both of Gloversville; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren. He was predeceased by two sisters, Blanche and Claire. Funeral services will be conducted Monday 10 a.m. from the Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 147 Bleecker Street, Gloversville. The family will receive friends Sunday 2-4 p.m. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Contributions in his memory may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 85 Watervliet Ave., Albany, NY 12206.

Eva Mysyk

Endicott - Eva (Sywyk) Mysyk, 75, formerly of Broadalbin, passed away peacefully Thursday September 9, 2004 at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City.

She was born in Broadalbin on October 14, 1928 a daughter of Stephen and Mary Walkowicz Sywyk and was a 1945 graduate of the former Broadalbin High School. In 1957, she moved to Endicott.

Eva was a retired employee of the Maine-Endwell School District.
She was a communicant and 47-year member of the Most Holy Rosary Church in Maine, N.Y.

Eva was an active member of the American Heart Association's Stroke Club and a member of the Union Center Fire Station Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid Gardner and enjoyed garage sales. Eva was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who was thought by many to be the nicest lady in the world.

Eva was married to Dymetro (Mike) Mysyk on August 11, 1946.He died September 15, 2003.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Anna Moore, Nellie Pres, and Andrew Sywyk.

Survivors include 4 daughters, Margie Mysyk and Bob Blanshard of Oakland, Ca., Patricia Shafer and Wayne Utter of Endicott, Lucilla and Stan Sokol of Penacook, N.H., and Mary Ellen Engard of Castle Creek, N.Y.; 5 grandchildren, David Shafer, Jenny Engard, Henry, Elisabeth & Andrew Sokol; a sister, Katherine Zajaceskowski of Hagaman; her sisters-in-law, Mary Regilski, Helen and Steve Warshona, all of Broadalbin; several nieces, nephews, and her beloved pet, "Kitty."

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at Most Holy Rosary Church in Maine. Burial will be in St. Basil's Cemetery, Broadalbin on Thursday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Marian Kostyk officiating. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home, Inc., 38 West Main Street, Broadalbin.

John R. Autilio

John R. Autilio, 80, of Heather Lane, Gloversville, passed away Sunday morning at Nathan Littauer Hospital.

He was born in Gloversville, NY on May 5, 1924, a son of John A. and Louise Molinari Autilio. He was a lifelong Gloversville resident and attended local schools.
Mr. Autilio was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, serving in England. After the war, he worked for a time at the General Electric Co. in Schenectady in the Steam Turbine Division building 273.

In the 1950s, Mr. Autilio became a barber and worked for the Lincoln Barber Shop on South Main St. and later on Washington St. in Gloversville.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Gloversville. He was also a member of the VFW Post No. 2077 in Gloversville and the Concordia Singing Society, also in Gloversville. Mr. Autilio enjoyed watching football and the N.Y. Giants.

He married Joan H. Heiger on June 16, 1966.

In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, John R. "Butch" Autilio and his wife, Gloria, of the town of Johnstown, NY and Patrick Alan Autilio and his wife, Marsha, of Cranford, NJ; one daughter, Melissa A. Fleischut and her husband, Doug, of Slingerlands, NY; three sisters. Rita Martin of Cleveland, Ohio, Josephine Sano of Albany, NY and Carmen Zambrello of Rensselaer, NY; four cherished grandchildren, Heidi Childers, Anna Autilio, Henry Fleischut and Mary Fleischut; two great-grandchildren, Brandon and Dakotah Childers; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Gloversville, 16 West Fulton St., with the Rev. Carson Mouser presiding. Interment will take place at a later date in Ferndale Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Walrath and Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility, 847 Cty. Hwy. 122, Gloversville, NY 12078.

Dean Raymond VanNostrand

Mr. Dean Raymond VanNostrand Sr., 76, of Mayfield, died on Saturday, September 11, 2004 at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville, following a short illness.

He was born on May 21, 1928 in Mayfield, a son of Raymond and Verna Brooks VanNostrand.
Mr. VanNostrand was a maintenance supervisor, employed by Continential Carpet of Gloversville for over 25 years and he was also employed at the former Mohawk Carpet Mills of Amsterdam.

He was a pilgrim member of Gloversville Lodge No. 351 Loyal Order of the Moose. Dean was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed playing horseshoes. He was a proud grandfather and had a deep love for his grandchildren.

Mr. VanNostrand was married to Katherine R. Baker on October 15, 1949, who survives.

He is also survived by five sons, Dean R. VanNostrand Jr. and wife, Bethany, of Edinburg, Dennis R. VanNostrand and wife, Libby, of Mayfield, David P. VanNostrand and wife, Shiela, of Mayfield, Richard A. VanNostrand and wife, Judy, of Broadalbin, and Douglas E. VanNostrand and wife, Nancy, of Edinburg; one daughter, Dawn M. VanNostrand and companion Robert Bruce of Gloversville; two brothers, Ivan VanNostrand and wife, Hilda, of Mayfield and Harvey VanNostrand and wife, Marilyn, of town of Hope; two sisters, Ruth Morrison of Mayfield and Norman Freeman of Gloversville; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. VanNostrand was predeceased by a granddaughter, Ashley VanNostrand; and five brothers, Gordon, Chauncy, Edward, Phillip and Paul VanNostrand.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Jeffords & Stewart Funeral Home, 85 W. Main St., Broadalbin, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Harry Edenhofer officiating. Interment will take place at Broadalbin-Mayfield Rural Cemetery, Broadalbin.
