Joseph A. Tremblay

Joseph A. Tremblay, 63, of Utica, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2002 at St. Luke's Memorial Hospital with his loving family by his side.

Joseph was born in Gloversville, NY on January 16, 1939, the son of Anna (Pannone) Tremblay and the late Oscar Tremblay and received his education in Gloversville schools. He served in the US Air Force until his honorable discharge in 1966. In August 1993 Joseph married Linda O'Dell in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, New Hartford. For many years, he was employed with the NY State Department of Transportation retiring as highway supervisor in 1964. Joseph was a member of American Legion Post 229, N. Utica and Our Lady of the Rosary Church, New Hartford. He was a golf enthusiast and was a member of the Eagles Club Golf League.

Mr. Tremblay is survived by his wife, Linda; mother, Anna Tremblay, Gloversville; one daughter, Tina Tremblay and her fiance Joseph Showa, Utica; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Joseph and Laura Tremblay, New Hartford, David Tremblay, Utica and Ralph and Colleen O'Dell, Utica; one brother and sister-in-law, John and Barbara Tremblay, Gansevoort, NY; 5 grandchildren, Danny and Nicole O'Dell, Joseph and Ashley Tremblay and Bionca Showa; 2 special friends, Matt and Bobby and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his in-laws, Lillian and the Weave.
Mr. Tremblay's funeral will be held on Monday, June 3, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 1736 Burrstone Rd., New Hartford, NY where his Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in Crown Hill Memorial Park, Kirkland, NY. There are no calling hours. Those so wishing may consider the American Diabetes Foundation, 1404 Genesee St., Utica, NY 13502 in Joseph's memory.

Arrangements are under the direction of Heintz Funeral Service Inc., Utica.

Mrs. Irene E. Van Evera

Mrs. Irene E. Van Evera, 78, of State Highway 10, Ephratah, died Saturday, June 1, 2002, at home, after being stricken.

She was born on June 21, 1923, in the Town of Palatine, the daughter of Frank and Lottie Leavenworth Kretser.

Mrs. Van Evera worked for the former Scotsmoore Glove Co. and former Royal Knit, both of Johnstown. She then was employed with the former Beech Nut Life Savers of Canajoharie for 25 years, retiring in 1985.
She was a member of the Western Fulton County Senior Citizens and a member of the former Ephratah Methodist Church.

On March 15, 1941, she married John Van Evera, who died May 25, 1987.

Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Miner of Ft. Plain; two stepsons, Franklin Van Evera of Galway and Glen Van Evera of Arkansas; seven brothers Melvin, Arnold, Roger and William Kretser Sr., all of Ft. Plain, Deward Kretser of Pasco, Washington, Ralph E. Kretser of Tok, Alaska and Gary Kretser of St. Johnsville; two sisters Beverly Cotton of Ft. Plain and Geraldine Nellis of St. Johnsville; several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by one stepdaughter, Edith Sweet, in 1989.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 East Main Street, Johnstown, with the Rev. Kenneth Dingman of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Ft. Plain, officiating.

Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Ephratah Rural Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Patricia Ann McLaughlin

Mrs. Patricia Ann McLaughlin, (nee Murphy) age 55, a summertime resident of Lakeside Avenue, town of Edinburg, died on March 26, 2004 at Calvary Hospital, Bronx, NY.

Pat was the beloved daughter of the late John J. and Ann Murphy; devoted wife of Joseph McLaughlin; loving sister of Hugh Murphy; and cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was assistant principal of special education at John Bowne High School, Flushing, NY.

A graveside prayer service will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, June 5, at Northampton Cemetery at FishHouse, 122 Old FishHouse Rd., Broadalbin with the Rev. Robert W. Powhida officiating. Arrangements are by Jeffords & Stewart Funeral Home, 85 W. Main St., Broadalbin.

Ruth Ann O'Connor

Mrs. Ruth Ann O'Connor, 57, of Selkirk, passed from this life June 18, 2004, at Albany Medical Center Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Gloversville, N.Y., October 30, 1946, daughter of Concetta Ruberti Scoville and the late Almond Sanford Scoville. She was a graduate of Gloversville High School and Marcy State Nursing School. As a registered nurse, Ruth worked at several hospitals during her career, including Stratton VA Hospital in Albany, Memorial Hospital in El Paso, Texas, and Community General Hospital in Syracuse, N.Y. She was also employed by Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Delmar and Resurrection Nursing Home in Castleton, N.Y. She ended her career as a school nurse at Glenmont Jobcorps in Glenmont, N.Y. This career spanned 35 years, interrupted twice to raise her children.

She is survived by her husband, Richard M. O'Connor of Selkirk; a son, Chad Jason O'Connor, and a daughter, Shannon Rory O'Connor, both of Selkirk; her mother, Concetta Ruberti Scoville of Mt. Loretto Nursing Home, Amsterdam; a sister, Carol Colavito of Port Jervis, N.Y.; a nephew, Ron Colavito and his wife, Tara, of Matamoras, Pa.; a niece, Connie Colavito of Brooklyn, N.Y.; several cousins and numerous nieces and nephews from her husband's side of the family.

The family wishes to thank the staff of NYOH in Latham, N.Y.; the loving staff at 4DE of Albany Medical Center; the caring staff at 6A of Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston, Mass., and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute for all they did to make Ruth's life as full as possible.
A prayer service will be held Wednesday at 10:15 a.m. from the Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 147 Bleecker Street, Gloversville, and at 11 a.m. a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church, Gloversville. with Reverend Donald Czelusniak, pastor, as celebrant. The family will receive friends Tuesday 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Rd., Loudonville, N.Y. 12211.

Richard Charles Peck

Richard Charles Peck, age 77, of Northville, died Sunday, June 20, 2004, after a brief illness. He was born in Lowville, N.Y., on Sept. 27, 1928, the son of Leon E. and Frances Reed Peck. He was a graduate of Johnstown High School class of 1944.

A veteran of World War II, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1944 and served as a Navy Corps man at Camp Lejeune, NC, and on the USS Wisconsin. He was employed as a combination man for the former GTE and Contel Telephone Company, retiring in 1984.

Mr. Peck was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Northville. He was active in a number of community organizations, including the American Legion Post 337, Broadalbin, where he was a life member; the Knights of Columbus of Northville; a life member of the Marine Corps League; past commander of the Catholic War Vets No. 642, Gloversville; he was national director for Americanism and Flags for first graders; he was past fourth District commander of the American Legion and served ten years on the department finance committee. He was past chief of the 40 and Eight; he was past president of the Northville Rotary Club.
He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Hedden, whom he married January 24, 1948. He is also survived by four sons, Leon Peck and his wife, Colleen, of Johnstown, Gavin Peck and his wife, Lori, of Schenectady, Scott Peck and his wife, Anne, of Spencerport and Anthony Peck and his wife, Elena, of Lake Ellsinore, CA; six grandsons, Christian, Stephen, Eric, David, Andrew and Anthony; three granddaughters, Veronica, Elizabeth and Marissa. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Marion Roberts.

Friends may call Thursday, June 24, 2004, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Northville Funeral Home, 401 Bridge St., Northville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 25, 2004, at 11 a.m. at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church of Northville. Burial will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Johnstown. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Church or the Northampton Ambulance Squad.

Carolyn E. Caldwell

Mrs. Carolyn E. Caldwell, 58, of Ellsworth Street, Amsterdam, NY, passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 22, 2004, at Albany Medical Center Hospital following a brief illness.

Born in Jersey City, NJ, on December 25, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Rita Walsh Moore.

Mrs. Caldwell was a 1964 graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch Senior High School, Amsterdam, NY; and was employed at the former Big N Department Store from 1964 to 1965 as head cashier; by M. Lurie and Son as information desk and switchboard operator; at Fulton Montgomery Community College as a bookkeeper and cashier; and by the city of Amsterdam as city clerk from 1978 through 1991.
Mrs. Caldwell was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Amsterdam, NY; a charter member and past president of the Irish-American Club Auxiliary; a past member of the Elks Emblem Club and the Sacandaga Boating Club. She also volunteered as a merit badge counselor for the Boy Scouts of America and from 1979 to 1984 served as unity coordinator for City Hall, police and fire department employees of the city of Amsterdam.

Mrs. Caldwell is survived by her beloved husband, Robert "Tex" Caldwell, to whom she was married on September 8, 1968; her loving children, James Patrick Caldwell and Brandie Marie Caldwell and her fiance, Hector Rondon, and dear friend Kristy Bottisti, all of Amsterdam; her loving granddaughters, Lauren Marie Caldwell and Joclyn Katrel Bottisti; her brothers, Robert Moore and his wife, Gloria, of Amsterdam, NY, and Terry Moore and his wife, Lynne, of Ormond Beach, FL; her sister, Debbie Morley and her husband, Richard, of West Charlton, NY; nieces; nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 8:30 a.m. at the Riley Mortuary Inc., 110 Division St., Amsterdam, NY, followed at 9:15 a.m. by a Mass of Christian burial at St. Mary's Church, 156 East Main St., Amsterdam, NY.

Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Fort Johnson, NY.

Calling hours will be on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the mortuary.

Lilas Helene (Duesler) McCrevey

Lilas Helene (Duesler) McCrevey, 92, wife of the late Robert L. McCrevey, died Sunday, June 20, 2004, at John Dempsey Hospital. She was born August 1, 1911, in Fultonville, NY, daughter of the late Clark E. and Anna D. (Stock) Duesler, and had lived in Canton, CT, for the past 49 years. Mrs. McCrevey was employed as a bookkeeper at M. Swift and Sons, Hartford, CT, for 18 years prior to her retirement in 1973. She was a member of the Collinsville Congregational Church. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon A. and Al Munroe of Canton, CT; three grandchildren and their spouses, Michelle and Chris Bryant, Jennifer and Brian Bennett and Michael and Lydia Munroe; two great-grandchildren, Noah Bryant and Sadie Munroe and the extended Munroe and McCrevey families. Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike, Canton, CT, Friday, June 25, from 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 26, 11:00 a.m., at the Collinsville Congregational Church. Mark E. Passino Jr.

Mark E. Passino Jr., 18, of South Judson Street, passed away suddenly Monday evening.

Born in Gloversville on June 14, 1986, a son of Mark E. Passino Sr. and Jacqueline Szabo, Mark had attended Gloversville High School. He enjoyed skateboarding, hunting and fishing.

His loving family includes his mother, Jacqueline Szabo, and her companion, Daryl Stewart of Gloversville; his father, Mark E. Passino Sr. of Broadalbin; his maternal grandmother, Sandra Szabo of Mayfield; maternal grandfather, Drew Szabo of Broadalbin; paternal grandmother, Noreen Passino of Gloversville; his paternal grandfather, Victor Passino, and his wife, Diane, of Broadalbin; a sister, Heather L. Passino of Gloversville; a half-sister, Amber L. Passino of Broadalbin; a stepbrother, Eric S. Stewart of Northville. Mark is also survived by his extended grandparents; aunts; uncles and cousins.
Funeral services are Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, with the Rev. Tom Tennant officiating. Calling hours are Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will take place later in Green Hill Cemetery, Amsterdam.

Diane May Voorhees

Mrs. Diane May Voorhees, 67, of 224 Staet Hwy 331, Town of Oppenheim, St. Johnsville, died Saturday, June 22, 2002 in Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville.

She was born in Gloversville on January 29, 1935, the daughter of Alton and Viola Armstrong May and was a graduate of Oppenheim-Ephratah Central School, Class of 1952. She continued with educational courses by attending Fulton-Montgomery Community College evening programs.

Her marriage to Ernest Voorhees took place on September 11, 1954, in the United Methodist Church in St. Johnsville.
The Little Falls Hospital employed Diane in the business office until 1976, when she retired due to a health disability. Prior to this employment, she was secretary to the principal at the Oppenheim-Ephratah Central School.

Diane operated a ceramic studio and silk flower busienss from her home for 20 years, until 1996, when she sold her supplies and equipment.

She was a member of the Lassesville United Methodist Church, serving as a lay leader, a member of the board of trustees and the choir director for many years. She was also the chairperson for the administration council of the church. She was also a member of the Oppenheim Senior Citizens and the Senior Citizens of Western Fulton County, of which she was treasurer. Additionally, she was a member of the Top Priority Club and the committee on pride and respect at the Oppenheim school. She personally enjoyed traveling, especially to Hawaii and to both coasts.

Surviving is her husband, Ernest; a son and his wife, Richard and Amy Voorhees of Oppenheim; her daughters, Vicki DeNinno and Lisa and her husband, Brad Ploss, both of Oppenheim; a sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Orville Ferguson of Lassesville; her grandchildren, Kelly Voorhees, Kathy Voorehees-Handy, Kristy Buccolo, Kayla Voorhees, Scott DiNinno, Jodi DeNinno, Brandon Ploss and Lindsay Ploss; her two great-grandsons, Alexander Nethaway and Jeremiah DeNinno, N&N; and a special friend, Terri Wood of Lassesville. A sister, Marlene Loren, predeceased her in 1980.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2002, at 11 a.m. in the United Methodist Church, Lassesville. The Rev, Michael Yezierski, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills. Calling hours are today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Roberts-Buck Funeral Home, 3 Faville Avenue, Dolgeville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lassesville United Methodist Church or to the Oppenheim Fire Department in her memory. Additionally, blood may be donated to the American Red Cross in her name.

Members of the Western Fulton County Senior Citizens will meet at 7 p.m. at the funeral home to conduct a prayer service in her name.

M. Denise Barnoski

M. Denise Barnoski of Northville, was taken away from us at the early age of 31, after a valiant battle with cancer. Her light lives on forever. Denise was born in Gloversville on October 12, 1970. She graduated as valedictorian of Wells Central School in 1989 and cum laude with a bachelor's degree in theater from Elmira College in 1993. Denise was employed with Shakespeare & Co. in Lenox, M.A. in the costume shop as costume designer for Fall Festival as production manager for Spring Festival. More recently, she worked as a medical secretary for Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, N.Y., Tampa General Hospital and Moffitt Cancer Institute, both in Tampa, FL and West Boca Medical Center in Boca Raton, FL. She traveled to Europe on backpacking expeditions to Austria, Germany, France, Italy and Sweden as well as the Dominican Republic and Haiti. Her finest journey was in Central America from Panama upward through Mexico. Denise also traveled through the western states of the United States. She is the beloved daughter of Pierrette Barnoski of Hope and Roger and Barbara Lee Barnoski of Hope. She is the devoted sister of Tammy Johnson of Bradenton, FL and Tonya Bloome of Palmetto, FL. She is the cherished granddaughter of Marie Beliveau of Altamont and Wanda Barnoski of Scotia. Several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union Street, Schenectady, NY 12308 or to Capital District Oncology Hematology, 317 South Manning Blvd., Attention: Dr. Garbo, Albany, N..Y 12208 in memory of M. Denise Barnoski.

Violet Perry

Violet Perry, 71, of West Melbourne, Fla., died June 23, 2002, in West Melbourne. She was born on Jan. 31, 1931, in Amsterdam, the daughter of Alfonso and Maria Tambucci Schietromo. She had been a resident of Florida since 1984.

She was a matrix tester for MCA Records, Gloversville for 32 years.

She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Mark Perry; daughters, Suzanne Armstrong, Loretta Birmingham, Sharon Warner Perry; sons, Frank, Mark and Roger Perry; sisters, Antoinette Brown, Anna Spraker, Josephine Austin; brothers, Anthony and Alfonso Schietromo; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brothers, Richard and Peter; and sisters, Edith Ackerman and Patricia Bush; and grandson David Warner.

A Mass was held Wednesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Melbourne. Entombment was held at Fountainhead Memorial Park, Palm Bay, Fla. Donations may be made to Hospice of Health First Inc., 1900 Dairy Rd., West Melbourne, FL 32904 or American Cancer Society, 4356-B Fortune Place, West Melbourne, FL 32904.

John Pino
Monday, June 30, 2003
John Pino, 92, formerly of Johnstown, died Sunday, June 29, at Kingsway Arms Nursing Home, Schenectady after a long illness.

He was born Nov. 22, 1910 in Johnstown, NY, the son of John and Concetta Conti Pino. He attended Johnstown schools.

He worked as a glove cutter in his early years; then became a sales clerk for the former Barney Galinsky & Sons. Then he became a sales clerk of Dockstader Clothing Store in Johnstown; he became owner in 1973. He retired in 1984.
He was a member of St. Patrick's Church and Johnstown Rotary Club.

He married Katherine Ferrara on June 28, 1936 in Gloversville; she survives. He is also survived by one daughter, Katherine Hand of Schenectady; three grandchildren, Peter Jay Hand, Lisa H. Arnold and John D. Hand; seven great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial will be on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, Johnstown with Rev. James Fitzmaurice, pastor Holy Trinity Parish, Johnstown as celebrant. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Johnstown Rotary Club. Arrangements are by the Barter & Donnan Funeral Home.

Della May Cady

Mrs. Della May (Baker) Cady, 75, of Harrison Street, Gloversville, died Saturday, June 1, 2002 at Nathan Littauer Nursing Home, Gloversville, following a short illness.

She was born on Aug. 29, 1926, in Johnstown, the daughter of George and Katherine Schemerhorn Baker.

Mrs. Cady was a graduate of Johnstown High School.
She was employed for many years by the former Crescendoe Glove Co. in Johnstown.

Her enjoyments included the company of her cat, Samantha, and her good friend Mollie Clark, as well as telling her favorite jokes to her family and friends.

Mrs. Cady was predeceased by her husband of 26 years, Roy Cady. He died in May of 2000. Her sister, Betty Holmes, died in 1996.

Survivors include her sister, Dorothy Sponable of Johnstown; one niece, Debra Dalmata of Johnstown; five nephews, George Holmes of Glens Falls, Larry Holmes of Gloversville, George Hurley of Copperas Cove, Texas, Richard Adams of Cartersville, Georgia, and William Adams of Castleton.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 East Main Street, Johnstown, with Rev. Robert Lair, pastor of the Church of God and Prophecy, Gloversville, officiating.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Fern Dale Cemetery, Johnstown.

The family suggests memorials be in the form of contributions to the charity of your choice, as Mrs. Cady contributed to many charitable organizations.

Charles Colson

Colson, Charles Hartie, 76, of Christiansburg, died Saturday, June 1, 2002 at the VA Medical Center, Salem, Va. He was born in Galway, New York, on May 19, 1926, to the late Charles and Mary Call Colson. He is survived by his wife, Violet Colson, of Shawsville; daughter, Barbara Phillips of Gloversville, NY; six sons, Christopher Colson of Christiansburg, Charles Colson Jr., Harold Colson, and Fred Steinburg, all of Gloversville, NY, Jim Colson, all of Mayfield, NY and Richard Colson of Caroga Lake, NY.; two brothers, James Colson and Benjamin Deere, both of Gloversville, NY. The family will have a private service at a later date. Arrangements are by McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive SW, Blacksburg, Va.

Vernon Cosselman

Vernon Cosselman, 85, of County Highway 112, Bleecker, died Sunday, June 2, 2002 at home.

He was born February 6, 1917, in Johnstown, the son of Floyd and Emma LaGrange Cosselman. He served in the Army during World War II from 1941 to 1945. He was employed at the former Garlock's Garage as a mechanic for 13 years, and later was a co-owner and operator of the former Vern & Dutch Service Station on E. Fulton Street in Gloversville for 21 years until his retirement in 1979.

Mr. Cosselman was a member of V.F.W. Post No. 2077, Gloversville and the Bleecker Fish and Game Club, and he was a former member of the Gloversville American Legion Post No. 137. Mr. Cosselman was one of the founders of the Bleecker Snow Rovers, where he had also served as president.
He was married August 10, 1946, to the former Dorothy Ernst, who survives. He is survived also by his sons, Vernon George Cosselman, David Floyd Cosselman and Paul Allen Cosselman, all of Bleecker; daughter, Vicki Cosselman of Johnstown; 13 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister, Idella M. Hayes.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home Inc., 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. R. Walletta Sweet

Mrs. Walletta Sweet, 87, of Irish Settlement Road, Dolgeville, died Saturday, June 1, 2002, at Nathan Littauer Nursing Home, Gloversville, after a short illness.

She was born on March 15, 1915, in Johnstown, the daughter of Clifford and Leafa Nolan Van Alstyne.

Mrs. Sweet was a member of Johnstown Reformed Church.
She was a former member of the Adirondack CB Club.

Mrs. Sweet was employed by the former Gem Footwear Co. and the former Jules T. Garfall Coat Factory.

On October 22, 1938, she married Fay Sweet, who died May 17, 1991.

Survivors include two daughters, Faye Decker and Kathy Millington, both of Dolgeville; one son, Robert Sweet of Tallahassee, Florida; 10 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by one sister, Margaret Antis, and one brother, William Van Alstyne.

There will be no services or calling hours.

Cremation will be in Vale Crematory, Schenectady.

Arrangements are by the A. G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 East Main Street, Johnstown.

Richard W. Tunnicliff

Richard W. Tunnicliff, 80, of Bunker Hill Rd., Mayfield, died Sunday, June 1, 2003 at the Albany Veterans Hospital following a long illness. He was born on October 31, 1922 in Gloversville, NY. The son of Ralph and Hazel Canfield Tunnicliff. Richard served in the Army during World War II. He was employed as a toggler for Wood and Hyde Co. in Gloversville for many years.

He was a lifetime resident of the area and was a member of the American Legion Post 1076, Northville.

Survivors include his former wife, Crystal Sweet of Mayfield; three daughters, Darla Sawyer of St. Johnsville, Jessica Tunnicliff and boyfriend Bradley Sawyer Sr. of Gloversville, Jennifer Tunnicliff of Mayfield; one stepdaughter, Rachel Hess of Mayfield; one sister, Ruth Lair of Caroga Lake; grandchildren, Shawn Hart, Bradley Hart and Erwin Hart Jr., Bradley Sawyer Jr. and Brandon Sawyer; one step grandson, Cody Horowitz. He was predeceased by one stepdaughter, Rebecca Hess.
Friends may call Friday, June 6, 2003 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Northville Funeral Home where a funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.
