Marion Fisher

July 12, 1996
Marion St. Thomas Fisher, 69, of 80 Oakland Ave., Gloversville, died Friday evening at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville, after being stricken three weeks ago.

She was born June 13, 1927, in Milwaukee, Wis., the daughter of William H. and Irene Marohn St. Thomas. She and her family moved to Gloversville in the 1940s.

At the time of her death, Mrs. Fisher was corporate secretary of the family-owned and operated St. Thomas Inc., a worldwide leather goods distributor.

She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Gloversville.

She married Floyd F. Fisher June 10, 1954.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two daughters, Carol L. Knights and Betty L. Frasier, both of Gloversville; a sister, Ruth VanHeusen of Orange City, Fla.; a twin brother, James W. St. Thomas of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; three grandsons; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Walrath & Bushouer Funeral Home Inc., 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Norman Strauss of Trinity Episcopal Church officiating.

Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Nathan Littauer Hospital, Trinity Episcopal Church or to a charity of one's choice.

Olga Mead

July 13, 1996
Olga Persico Mead, 71, of Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, died Saturday at St. Mary's Hospital.

She was born in Amsterdam July 7, 1925, the daughter of Pasquale and Carmella Pinto Persico.

She was educated in the Amsterdam school system and attended the College of St. Rose in Albany. Mrs. Mead was employed as a laboratory technician by St. Mary's Hospital, retiring in 1991.

She was a member of St. Mary's Church and the Psi Chi Phi sorority club in Amsterdam.

Her husband, William Mead, died in 1988.

Survivors include a son, Robert L. Mead; a daughter, Margaret Zepperi; three brothers, George, Daniel and Frank Persico, all of Amsterdam; a sister, Ann Signoracci of Apollo Beach, Fla.; two grandsons; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services are Tuesday at 10:15 a.m. at the Riley Mortuary Inc., 110 Division St., Amsterdam, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church.

Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery.

Calling hours are Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the mortuary.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of St. Joseph Provincial House, Latham 12110; or Hospice of Amsterdam, 40 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam 12010.

Thomas Derrico

July 13, 1996
Thomas R. Derrico, 65, of Fonclair Street, Johnstown, died Saturday at his sister's home in Gloversville after a long illness.

Mr. Derrico was born in Gloversville and attended Gloversville schools.

He was employed in the coloring department of JBF Industry until becoming ill.

Mr. Derrico was a member of St. Patrick's Church and the Johnstown Moose Lodge.

He served in the Army from April 1952 to April 1954.

Mr. Derrico is survived by his wife, Josie Brodack Derrico, whom he married May 7, 1955; a son, Thomas J. Derrico of East Greenbush; three brothers, Matthew D'Errico of Burbank, Calif., Peter D'Errico of Gloversville and Jack D'Errico of Florida; five sisters, Mary Maiello, Martha Persico, Antionette Sena, Jenny Palmieri, and Angeline Budinscale, all of Gloversville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services are Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Barter and Donnan Funeral Home, 1 North Melcher St., Johnstown, and at 9:30 at St. Patrick's Church.

Burial will be held in Mount Carmel Cemetery.

Calling hours are today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, Gloversville.

Beatrice Bisnett

July 14, 1996
Beatrice L. Bisnett, 84, formerly of Eighth Avenue, Gloversville, died Sunday at the Van Rensselaer Manor Nursing Home in Troy.

Born and educated in Johnstown, Mrs. Bisnett was a lifelong area resident.

She was employed at various area knitting shops for several years.

Mrs. Bisnett was a member of the Sacred Heart Church.

Her husband, Richard R. Bisnett, whom she married in 1934, died in 1969.

Survivors include a son, Richard H. Bisnett of Rensselaer, two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Church.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda.

Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Hollenbeck Funeral Home, 4 Second Ave., Gloversville.

Elsie Romano

July 13, 1996
Elsie P. Romano, 83, of 83 Second Ave., Gloversville, died Saturday at Nathan Littauer Hospital.

Born in Gloversville, Mrs. Romano had lived there all her life. She was a graduate of Gloversville High School.

She was employed at the Parella Glove Company for 40 years.

Mrs. Romano was a member of Sacred Heart Church and its Rosary Society.

Her husband, Joseph R. Romano, whom she married Sept. 22, 1935, died in 1972.

Survivors include a son, Joseph Romano of Saratoga; a daughter, Genevieve R. Hauser of Hampton, N.H.; a brother, Alfred Parella of St. Augustine, Fla.; a sister, Mary H. Perna of Gloversville; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services are 9 a.m. Tuesday at the John W. Finocan Funeral Home, 13 Prospect Ave., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church.

Burial will be in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery.

Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Jean Hayden

July 13, 1996
Jean Hayden, 79, of Woodrow Road, Amsterdam, died Saturday afternoon at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

Born in Amsterdam May 5, 1917, she was the daughter of Edward and Johanna Czelusniak Ludwin. She was a lifelong area resident and attended local schools.

Mrs. Hayden was a homemaker and a communicant of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church.

Her husband, William Hayden, whom she married Nov. 17, 1935, died in May 1989.

Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Farina of Amsterdam; two sisters, Mary Zazycki of Schenectady and Frances Wolocz of Johnstown; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Rossi Funeral Home, 11 Mohawk Place, Amsterdam, with the Rev. Stanley Swierzowski officiating.

Interment is in St. John's Cemetery.

A calling hour will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of St. John the Baptist.

Robert O'Donnell

July 14, 1996
Robert E. O'Donnell, 85, of North Main Street, Gloversville, died Sunday at Nathan Littauer Hospital.

Born in Gloversville, Mr. O'Donnell was a 1928 graduate of Gloversville High School and attended the Boston School of Music.

He lived in the Gloversville area most of his life.

He was self-employed as a real estate broker in the states of California, Arizona and New York, for more than 60 years.

Mr. O'Donnell was a member of Sacred Heart Church, the National Board of Realtors and the American Federation of Musicians.

His wife, Beatrice Ernst O'Donnell, whom he married June 22, 1940, died in January 1966.

Survivors include six sons, Melvin O'Donnell of Austin, Texas, Daniel O'Donnell of Caroga Lake, Kim O'Donnell of Albany, and Brian O'Donnell, Jeffrey O'Donnell and Michael O'Donnell, all of Scottsdale, Ariz.; three daughters, Maureen Hamilton of Scottsdale, Kathleen O'Donnell of Tempe, Ariz., and Mary O'Donnell of Dana Point, Calif.; and 19 grandchildren.

Funeral services are 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Hollenbeck Funeral Home, 4 Second Ave., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at noon at Sacred Heart Church.

Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Johnstown.

Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
