Robert L. White, 71, of 518 Tompkins St., Syracuse, died Saturday. Born in Syracuse, he graduated from Central High School. He retired in 1997 after 30 years as a self-employed painting contractor. He was a member of the Syracuse Cyclones senior softball team and Fuoco's Athletic Club. He was a communicant of St. Brigid & St. Joseph Church. He served with the 82nd Airborne Division during the Korean War. Survivors: A son, Scott of Port Charlotte, Fla.; a sister, Betty Jane Becker of Syracuse; three brothers, John P. Jr. of Liverpool and Richard H. and Darrell C., both of Syracuse; two grandchildren. Services: 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Edward J. Ryan & Son Funeral Home and 9 a.m. in St. Brigid & St. Joseph Church. Edward F. "Pops" Gebo, 69, of North Bay died Sunday. Born in Peterboro, N.H., he lived in Oneida most of his life before moving to North Bay a year ago. He retired from H.P. Hood in Oneida and was semi-retired as a newspaper delivery person for The Post-Standard. Survivors: His wife, the former Sadie Tilbe; a daughter, Debbie Kirk of North Bay; a son, Edward Jr. of Texas; five stepdaughters, Donna Campbell of Morrisville, Katherine Wyant of Syracuse, Sandy Winchell of Oneida, Mary Cronin of Durhamville and Linda Miller of Vernon; five stepsons, Ross Miller Jr. of Clinton, Lewis Miller of Madison, Paul Miller of Canastota, Randy Miller of North Bay and Keith Miller of Vernon; a sister, Rose Lynn of Maryland; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Eve Tornatore Hinckley, 83, of 415 Den-Whit Terrace, Canastota, died Sunday at Stonehedge Nursing Home in Chittenango of Lou Gehrig's Disease. Born in Canastota, she lived there most of her life. She attended Canastota schools. She and her husband spent winters in Daytona Beach, Fla., for 18 years. She retired in 1980 as a school bus driver for Canastota Central Schools after 32 years. She was then a substitute school bus driver for five years and was a bus driver for St. Agatha's Church Religious Education Program for several years. She drove vehicles for the Army Air Forces in Syracuse during World War II. Survivors: Her husband of almost 57 years, Ralph D.; a daughter, Marion Piedmonte of Clarence Center; a son, Kenneth R. of Worcester, Mass.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. She was a member and past president of Zonta Club of Auburn and was past president of American Heart Association Cayuga County Unit. Frank A. Pappalardo Sr., 87, of North Syracuse died Sunday. Born in Erie, Pa., he lived in the Syracuse and North Syracuse areas most of his life. He retired in 1976 after 15 years as owner and operator of Nor-Bar Sheet Metal in Syracuse. He was a member of Sheet Metal Workers International Association Local 58 in Syracuse. He was a former member of Our Lady of Pompei Golf League for several years. He was a member of St. Margaret's Church in Mattydale. She was a French teacher at Johnson City High School for 30 years. She rented a cottage in Skaneateles for 19 years and was a member of Skaneateles Rotary Club. She was a member of Sarah Jane Johnson United Methodist Church in Johnson City and was a board member of Binghamton-LaTeste Sister Cities French program. She lived in Syracuse since 1972 and spent winters in St. Augustine, Fla., for the last 10 years. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church, a pianist at the church and a member of New Life Baptist Church in St. Augustine. A son, Dale A., died in 1986.
