Dylon James Frasier

December 24, 1996
Dylon James Frasier, 3 months old, of Chyle Road, Van Hornesville, died suddenly Tuesday at home.

Born in Little Falls on Sept. 17, 1996, he was the son of Jason J. Frasier and Tina L. Talbot.

Survivors include his parents, Jason J. Frasier and Tina L. Talbot of Van Hornesville; a sister, Alyssa R. Fredericks of Van Hornesville; his paternal grandparents, Harvey and Connie Frasier of Mohawk and Elaine "Chipper" Frasier of Richfield Springs; his maternal grandparents, Ronald and Lynn Talbot of Little Falls; his maternal great-grandmother, Annabelle Talbot of Little Falls; maternal great-grandfather, Lynn Darrow also of Little Falls; paternal great-grandmother, Anastasta Hyney of the Town of Stark; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 8 p.m. at Gray-Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 34 Center St., Fort Plain, with pastor Donald Dickson officiating.

Burial will take place in the spring.

Calling hours are Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Elizabeth "Betty" Weaver

December 24, 1996
Mrs. Elizabeth "Betty" Weaver, 79, of South Third Street, Northville, died Tuesday at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville after a long illness.

Born in Remsen, Mrs. Weaver was a graduate of Remsen High School and the Excelsior Business School in Utica.

She worked for the Upstate Telephone Company, Carl Bradt Jewelry Store, Niagara Mohawk Power Corp., and NBT Bank, from which she retired.

Mrs. Weaver was a member of the Northville Presbyterian Church.

She was a volunteer at Northville Library and was named Volunteer of the Year at one time.

Her husband, Loren Weaver, died in 1971.

Survivors include two sisters, Jane Astin of Northville and Florence Burns of New Hartford; and two grandsons.

The service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Northville Funeral Home, 401 Bridge St.

Calling hours will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 2 p.m. until the service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Spring burial will be in Edinburg Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Northville Library.

Florence Cionek

December 24, 1996
Florence B. Cionek, 77, of Vrooman Avenue, Amsterdam, died Tuesday morning at the Mt. Loretto Nursing Home where she was a patient for the past three months.

Born in Amsterdam on March 19, 1919, she was a daughter of Vincent and Violet Karp and a graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School. She was a lifelong area resident. Mrs. Cionek was employed at the former Montco Mfg., of Amsterdam and later for Amsterdam Printing & Litho before retiring 30 years ago. She was a communicant of the Church of St. John the Baptist.

She married Adolph Cionek on June 6, 1943.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Cionek is survived by a son, David P. Cionek of Latham and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass will be offered today at 9 a.m. at the Church of St. John the Baptist, Vanderveer St. with the Rev. Stanislaus Swierzowski celebrant. Relatives and friends are invited. There will be no calling hours and interment is in St. John's Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Loretto Chapel Fund or to Hospice of Amsterdam.

Arrangements are by the Rossi Funeral Home, 11 Mohawk Place.

Kathryn Martuscello

December 25, 1996
Mrs. Kathryn Martuscello, 88, formerly of the Roosevelt Apartments, Amsterdam, died Wednesday morning at Montgomery Meadows where she had been a resident for the past two years.

Born Sept. 21, 1908, in Amsterdam, she was the daughter of Fedele and Francesca DiVincenzo Cavaliere and was a lifelong resident.

She was employed as a sewing machine operator by various local glove companies and most recently by Mohawk Sportswear, retiring in 1970.

She was a member of the Columbiettes, and a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Amsterdam; a member of the Christian Women Society of the Church, and a member of the Catholic Daughters of the church.

She preceded in death by her son, John F. Martuscello. She was married April 1 1934 to Vito "Pewee" Martuscello. He died Nov. 10, 1984.

Survivors include a daughter, Judith Ludwin of Fort Johnson; a sister, Veronica Gray of Fonda; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 8:15 a.m. at the Betz Funeral Home Inc., 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:15 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Calling hours are Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the American Diabetes Association, or to GAVAC, in care of the funeral home.

Olympia "Libby" Pasquariello

December 23, 1996
Olympia Pasquariello, 87, of Reskin Drive, Wallingford, died Monday at Veterans Memorial Medical Center. She was the wife of Anthony Pasquariello Sr.

Born in Brooklyn on July 4, 1909, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Rose Leone Ammarati and had been a Wallingford resident for the past 39 years. She had been a seamstress at the Susan Claire Dress Company in Wallingford until her retirement. She was a parishioner of the Church of the Resurrection.

She is survived by three sons, James N. Pasquariello of Kingston, Anthony Jr. of Wallingford, and Charles S. of Wallingford; two daughters, Concetta Hartman of Galway and Rose Klementowski of Saratoga Springs; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Thomas E. Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 43 Church St., Wallingford. Funeral services will be held Friday at 8 a.m. from the funeral home and at 9 a.m. at the Church of the Resurrection, Wallingford for a Mass of Christian Burial.

Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Amsterdam on Friday at 2:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Church of the Resurrection, 115 Pond Hill Road, Wallingford, CT 06492.

Raymond Bush

December 24, 1996
Raymond J. Bush, 42, of Church Street, Amsterdam, died Tuesday morning at St. Mary's Hospital.

Born Sept. 26, 1954 in Amsterdam, he was a son of Stanley R. and Flavia Frascatore Bush Jr. He was educated locally and was a lifelong area resident.

He was associated with Stan's Citgo the family business in Amsterdam.

He was pre-deceased by a brother Arthur D. Bush who died March 26, 1994.

In addition to his parents of Amsterdam, Mr. Bush is survived by four sisters, Marguerite Ferguson of Northville; Cynthia Miller of Hagaman, Kathy Kreisel of Galway; Linda Mattioli of Fort Johnson; two brothers, Stanley R. Bush III and Paul Bush, both of Amsterdam; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Jendrzejczak Funeral Home, 200 Church St., with the Rev. Robert E. Doxey officiating. Interment will be held in Green Hill Cemetery in the spring.

Relatives and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today. Memorial contributions may be made to the Greater Amsterdam Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

Robert Brown

December 24, 1996
Robert Brown, 82, of Lansing Street, Hagaman, died Tuesday afternoon at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital.

Born in Gloucester, N.J. on May 14, 1914, he was the son of John and Jennie Smith Brown. Mr. Brown was a resident of this area for many years.

Mr. Brown was educated in the Springfield, Mass., school system. He was employed by the former Mohawk Carpet Company in Amsterdam, the General Electric Company in Schenectady and retired from Ward Products, Amsterdam, as a quality control supervisor.

He married Anna Ayers on May 11, 1940.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Brown is survived by a son, Robert J. Brown of Marrietta, GA.; a daughter, Patricia Sinicropi of Amsterdam, five grandchildren, Mark and Michael Brown of Marietta, Catherine Merendo of Woodstock, GA.; Linda Palmieri of Amsterdam; and Joseph Sinicropi of Amsterdam; three great-grandchildren, Alecia and Daniel Palmieri of Amsterdam, and Alyssa Merendo of Woodstock, GA.; a sister, Dorothy Lais of Cairo, N.Y., and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:15 a.m. at the Riley Mortuary Inc., 110 Division St., Amsterdam, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Stephen's Church, Pawling Street, Hagaman.

Spring interment will take place in the Hagaman Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to GAVAC, P.O. Box 11, Amsterdam, or to the Hagaman Volunteer Fire Department, Pawling Street, Hagaman 12086.

Rocco Marzacano

December 23, 1996
Rocco J. Marzacano, 56, of Mohawk Village Apartments, died Monday at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital after being stricken.

Born in Yonkers on Dec. 5, 1940, he was the son of Vincent and Angela Capozzo Marzacano. He lived in Yonkers most of his life before moving to Amsterdam in 1994.

He was a self-employed salesman.

Mr. Marzacano is survived by his mother, Angela Capozzo Marzcano.

Services are private.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Rossi Funeral Home, 11 Mohawk Place, Amsterdam.
