Charles F. Griffin Jr., 41, of 121 Hudson St., Syracuse, died Friday. Born in Huntington, W.Va., he attended Fowler High School and BOCES in Liverpool. He was a disc jockey with WOLF Radio and the Top Cat Lounge for eight years and had worked in security at Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He was an Army veteran. Survivors: Three sons, Justin and Gary Mann-Griffin, both of Syracuse, and Emmanuel Griffin of Cleveland, Ohio; his mother, Jeannette Edwards of Syracuse; his stepfather, Raymond C. Titus II of Syracuse; four sisters, Monica M., Stephanie R. and Lara A. Griffin and Akiva S. Hadley-Titus, all of Syracuse; a brother, Sgt. Kenyatta R. Titus of Honolulu; four stepbrothers, Derrick and Barraka Titus, both of Syracuse, Chamar and Rakim Titus, both of Cleveland, Ohio; three stepsisters, April and Nichelle Titus, both of Syracuse, and Anoni Titus of Cleveland; his maternal grandmother, Laura D. Gilmore of Syracuse; his paternal grandmother, Ruth Owens-Davis of Syracuse; his companion, Shawn Mann. Services: 1 p.m. Friday in St. Lucy's Church. Ruth E. Armstrong Holden, 80, of Pontiac Terrace Apartments, Oswego, died Tuesday. Born in New Haven, she attended New Haven School and Mexico High School. She was a housekeeper, working at several doctors' offices in the Oswego area. She was a member of Lupus Foundation and a volunteer for St. Luke's day care. Her husband, William G., died in 1982. Survivors: A daughter, Lucille Loftus of Oswego; two sisters, Velma Holder of Barnes Corners and Shirley Vanepps of Cato; a brother, Milton Armstrong of Rome; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Jr., Douglas, Stephen and Timmy, all of Auburn; four sisters, Charlotte Hurd and Marjorie Mallory, both of Auburn, Millie Reese of Weedsport and Sharon Bernharg of Williamson; a brother, William Graham of Missouri; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. John E. Kellish, 84, of Kirkville died Tuesday. Born in Manlius, he attended Manlius schools. He retired in 1977 from Texaco and then was a custodian for Cazenovia Post Office and East Syracuse-Minoa High School. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and a member of Minoa Golden Age Club. His wife, Shirley M., died in 1996. Survivors: Five daughters, Donna Markle of Canastota, Jo Ann Burns, Joyce Burns and Cindie Kellish, all of Chittenango, and Sharon Smith of Interlaken; a sister, Irene Stewart of Fabius; three brothers, Stanley of Minoa and James and Richard, both of Manlius; 19 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren. Services: 9:15 a.m. Saturday at Russell H. Schepp & Son Funeral Home and 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church. Burial,  White Chapel Memory Gardens. Betty Jane Grant Knight, 77, of 4448 East Lake Road, Cazenovia, died Sunday. Born in Nanticoke, Pa., she attended Syracuse University and was a homemaker. She was a member of Cazenovia Watercolor Society and was a volunteer at the Key in Cazenovia. Her husband, Dr. Harold F., died in 1979; a son, Christopher, died in 1994. Survivors: A daughter, Carolyn Ahern of Cazenovia; a brother, James G. Grant of San Diego; six grandchildren. Services: 9:30 a.m. Saturday in St. James Church. Burial, Springbrook Cemetery. Mary E. McCormack, 87, of Hallmark Nursing Centre, Minoa, died May 28. Born in Seneca, she lived in Penn Yan before moving to Minoa. She was a nurse's aide at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Penn Yan. She was a member of Penn Yan Fire Department Auxiliary and a communicant of St. Michael's Church. She was a member of Catholic Daughters and Does of the Penn Yan Elks Club. Her husband, John, died in 1997. Survivors: A son, Thomas of Penn Yan; two daughters, Mary Phillips of Minoa and Lois Conrad of Central Square; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. Services and burial: Will be in Penn Yan. His wife, the former Treba Mosher, died in 1979. Survivors: Two daughters, Sharon Carbone of Syracuse and Donna Potter of Cayuga; a son, Reggie of Syracuse; a sister, Florence Laufer of Syracuse; a brother, David of Syracuse; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Georgia Lee Abbott Shirley, 96, formerly of 236 Ferndale Ave., Syracuse, died Tuesday at Iroquois Nursing Home in Jamesville. She was born in Wyalusing, Pa. She was the owner and operator of Airkem Service Co. During World War II, she worked for Brown-Lipe Chapin, Syracuse, testing machine guns. She was a lecturer on Haviland China. She was a life member of South Presbyterian Church and was past president of the Antique Study Club. Her husband of 53 years, Ellsworth W., died in 1977. Three sons died previously: Ellsworth A. in 1945, Ronald L. in 1975 and Edward B. in 1977. Survivors: Six grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren. Services: 6 p.m. Friday in St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Burial, Onondaga Valley Cemetery. No calling hours. Ballweg and Lunsford Funeral Home, Syracuse, has arrangements. Milton C. Slade, 92, of Delmar Place, Syracuse, died Tuesday. Born in Schenectady, he moved to Syracuse in 1925, lived in Baltimore in the 1940s then returned to Syracuse. He retired in 1945 as a mechanic for Martin Aircraft Co. in Baltimore, Md. He also worked for various companies in the Syracuse area after World War II. He was a communicant of St. Daniel Church. His wife, Rose M., died in 2001. Survivors: Two daughters, Roberta Slade of Syracuse and Linda Nieciecki of Baldwinsville; a son, Donald of Baldwinsville; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Services: 8:30 a.m. Friday at Gang Memorial Chapel and 9 a.m. in St. Daniel Church. Burial, St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. Eleanor Louise Wright, 88, of St. Luke Health Services, Oswego, died Tuesday. She was born in Fulton and lived there most of her life. She retired in 1972 as a schoolteacher at Oak Street Elementary School in Fulton after 35 years. She taught at several rural schools in Fulton and Volney. She was a member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church in Volney, where she was the organist for many years. She was a member of New York State Retired Teachers Association. Survivors: Her companion of 68 years, Sam Curcuruto of Fulton; two nieces, Darle W. Doran and Diane W. McKenney, both of Syracuse; a nephew, E. Donald Wright of Syracuse. Jr. and Thomas F., both of California, and Michael S. of Erie, Pa.; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren. Services: 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Most Holy Rosary Church.
