Mary Cirillo

Mrs. Mary A. Cirillo, 86, of Wells Nursing Home Inc., Johnstown, died Thursday evening at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville, following a long illness.
Born Aug. 8, 1910, in Johnstown, she was the daughter of Paul P. and Magdalena Svec. She lived in Johnstown until her marriage, when she moved to Gloversville. She entered the Wells Nursing Home a year ago.
Mrs. Cirillo was educated in Johnstown schools.
She was employed at Geraldine Novelty Company, Wining Slipper Corp. and Glenwood Shoe Company, all of Gloversville, and was a seamstress at Robinson & Smith.
Mrs. Cirillo was a member of St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, the Ida McGinnis Senior Citizens Club and a former member of the Ladies of the Moose, all in Gloversville.
She married Theodore Cirillo Sr. Nov. 26, 1930. He died Feb. 22, 1950.
Survivors include a son, Theodore J. Cirillo Jr. of Gloversville; two brothers, Edward Svec of Johnstown and John Svec of Fort Myers, Fla.; two sisters, Anna Roth of Johnstown and Terezia Meher of St. Simons Island, Ga.; three grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A private prayer service will take place Monday at the convenience of the family at the Walrath & Bushouer Funeral Home Inc., Gloversville, with the Rev. Donald Czelusniak, pastor of St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church officiating.
There will be no calling hours.
Interment will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary of Mount Carmel, the Wells Nursing Home Inc., or the American Heart Association.
Pauline May
Aug. 26, 1996
Pauline May, a long-time resident of the Nativity section of Scranton, Pa., died Aug. 26 at Moses Taylor Hospital. She was the widow of Joseph May, who died in 1987.
Born in Jermyn, Pa., a daughter of William and Mary Judge Ormston, she was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Church, South Scranton, its Combined Societies, the Nativity Social Cub Auxiliary, Nativity Golden Age, St. Mary's After 50 Club and the Friendly Senior Citizens.
She was a graduate of the Lackawanna School of Business and was formerly employed by Economy Wholesale and Grocery.
Survivors include a daughter, Anita Bush of Amsterdam; a son, Kevin of Moscow; five grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Thomas.
The funeral was held from the August J. Haas Funeral Home Inc., 202 Pittston Ave., followed by a Mass in Nativity of Our Lord Church.
Interment was in Valley View Memorial Park, Montdale, Pa.

Gary Carpenter

Gary Lee Carpenter, 46, of West Devon Drive, Mount Airy, N.C., died Thursday evening at home following a short illness.
He was born in Gloversville Oct. 25, 1949, the son of Emery Carpenter and Paula Price Quackenbush.
He was the general manager of Time Warner Cable in Dobson, N.C. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a sergeant and was stationed in Germany at one time.
He was a member and past president of the Dobson Lions Club and a member of the Mount Airy Elks Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Caputo Carpenter of Mount Airy; a son, Aaron Carpenter of Chicago; two daughters, Kelly Carpenter of Charlotte, N.C., and Amber Carpenter of Mount Airy; his father, of New York; his mother, of Florida; a sister, Fay Carpenter Grady of New York; a brother, Stephen Carpenter of Delaware; nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins.
The funeral is Monday at 11 a.m. at the Dobson First baptist Church, with burial in Skyline Memorial Gardens.

Carl R. Cuccurullo

Carl R. Cuccurullo, 81, of Fifth Street in Gloversville, died Friday at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville after a brief illness.
Born in Gloversville, Mr. Cuccurullo was a lifelong area resident.
He worked at the former Levors and Independent Leather companies. After that, Mr. Cuccurullo was a stock clerk for the General Electric Co., in Schenectady, retiring in 1979.
He worked at Townsend Leather Co., Johnstown, until 1995.
He was a member of the GE Pensioners Club.
Mr. Cuccurullo was a communicant of St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church, Johnstown.
On April 28, 1940, he was married to Margaret Sanges Cuccurullo. She died in 1994.
Survivors include a son, Anthony Cuccurullo of Schenectady; five daughters, Carol Paciolla and Barbara Kucel, both of Gloversville, Rosemary Avery of Johnstown, Gloria Maki of Schenectady and Debra Sutliff of Herkimer; a brother, Nelson Cuccurullo of Dayton, Ohio; a sister, Anne Donahue of Albany; eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Funeral Services will be at 9:15 a.m. Monday at the Amico Funeral Home, 150 South Main St. and will be followed at 10 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony's Church in Johnstown.
Burial will be in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown.
Calling hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

William J. Dingman
September 6, 1996
William J. Dingman, 43, of Union Street in Gloversville, died Friday evening at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville, following a long illness.
Born Nov. 7, 1952, Mr. Dingman was the son of William and Eleanor Hayes Dingman. He was a lifelong Gloversville resident and a graduate of Gloversville schools.
Mr. Dingman was a truck driver at Bruce Gardner Trucking for several years, and last was a buffing machine operator at North Street Leather Co. for several years.
He was of the Methodist faith. Mr. Dingman was also a member of the Gloversville Moose Lodge.
He was predeceased by a brother, John E. Dingman, in 1976, and by his step-father, Carl Bushnoe, in 1995.
Survivors include a son, William J. Dingman Jr. of Gloversville; a daughter, Melissa Dingman of Gloversville; his mother, Eleanor Bushnoe of Gloversville; a sister, Jo Ann Le Baron of Muskegon, Mich.; and two brothers, Richard Dingman of Gloversville, and James Dingman of Fort Hunter. Several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Walrath & Bushouer Funeral Home, Inc., 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, with the Rev. Steven Clunn officiating.
Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Joseph F. Fiorito
September 6, 1996
Joseph F. Fiorito, 70, of 27 Miller St. of Johnstown, who owned a surplus clothing store, died Friday at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville, after being stricken at home.
Born in Gloversville, Mr. Fiorito lived in Johnstown for the past eight years.
Until his retirement in 1990, he owned and operated Plymouth's Surplus Sales in Gloversville for many years, retiring in 1990.
During World War II, Mr. Fiorito was a sergeant with the U.S. Army's 8th Armored Division, serving in Germany. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star.
Mr. Fiorito was a communicant of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Gloversville.
He was a member of the Johnstown Moose Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Caruso Fiorito, whom he married in 1950; two daughters, Joanne Warner of Gloversville and Lucy Baxter of Lake George; and two grandchildren.
A prayer service will be held at 9 a.m. Monday at the John W. Finocan Funeral Home, 13 Prospect Ave., followed at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Gloversville by a Mass of Christian Burial.
Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
