Harry Heiser
Aug. 27, 1996
Harry L. Heiser, 87, formerly of Clinton Road, Canajoharie, died Monday at the St. Johnsville Nursing Home after a long illness.
Born Seept. 8, 1908 in Canajoharie, he was the son of John Heiser and Maude Smith. He was educated at the Hill Top School in Canajoharie.
Mr. Heiser was a self-employed carpenter for 50 years in the Canajoharie area and was a lifelong area resident.
He was a member of St. John and St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Canajoharie and a former member of St. John's Men Club. He was a 21-year member of the Cross Trails Square Dance Club.
Mr. Heiser married Gertrude R. Groff on Sept. 8, 1956.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Alberta Nurnberger and Dorothy Miller.
In addition to his wife of Canajoharie, survivors include several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home Inc., 20 Otsego St., Canajoharie, with the Rev. John Omans officiating. Burial will be in Fort Plain Cemetery.
Calling hours will be from 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Nellie Flansburg
Aug. 26, 1996
Nellie B. Flansburg, 95, of Robin Circle, Johnstown, died Monday at Nathan Littauer Hospital after a short illness.
Born in the Town of Day, Mrs. Flansburg was a sewing machine operator for the Johnstown Knitting Mill until retiring.
Mrs. Flansburg was a member of the First United Methodist Church and its Daughters of Wesley.
She was also a member of the local senior citizens groups.
Her husband, Ralph Flansburg, died in 1979.
Survivors include a son, George Flansburg of Johnstown; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home, 215 E. Main St. Burial will be in Day Center Cemetery.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, to the Johnstown Volunteer Ambulance Corps or the Ambulance Service of Fulton County.
Rudolph Albanese
Aug. 25, 1996
Rudolph D. Albanese, 67, of Montgomery Street, Gloversville, died Sunday at Nathan Littauer Hospital.
A lifelong Gloversville resident, Mr. Albanese served with the Air Force during the Korean War.
He was an assistant supervisor at the Alban Hills Country Club in Johnstown.
Mr. Albanese was a member of the Catholic War Veterans and the Alban Hills Country Club.
He was a communicant of St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church.
Survivors include three brothers, Mario Albanese of Gloversville, Attilio Albanese of Johnstown, and Carl Albanese of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and three sisters, Norma Burrell of Lake Worth Fla., Inez Rooney of Gloversville and Lillian Doremus of White House Station, N.J.
Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Amico Funeral Home, 150 S. Main St., Gloversville, and at 9:30 at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
Doris Hentnik
August 21, 1996
Doris H. Hentnik, 40, of Swart Hill Road, Amsterdam, died Wednesday at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady, following a long illness.
Born July 7, 1956 in Amsterdam, she was the daughter of Ralph and Edith Robinson Putnam. She was a lifelong area resident and was educated in local schools
Mrs. Hentnik was a homemaker.
She married Steven G. Hentnik on Sept. 8, 1973.
In addition to her husband and mother of Amsterdam, survivors include two sons, Jeffrey Lee Hentnik and Michael James Hentnik, both of Amsterdam; two brothers, David Putnam of Amsterdam and Bill Putnam of Fort Johnson; a sister, Carol Syzdek of Tribes Hill, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at the Amsterdam Funeral Chapel, 13 Belmont Place, Amsterdam, with the Rev. Alfred Kahler officiating.
Calling hours will be from noon to 2 p.m. today at the funeral chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA, Box 484, Amsterdam.
Charles Pashley
August 21, 1996
Charles F. Pashley, 82, of Johnstown, died Wednesday at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville.
Born and educated in Clayville, Mr. Pashley moved to Johnstown in 1953.
He worked for the New York State Department of Law, retiring in 1976.
Mr. Pashley was a member of St. Patrick's Church.
He married Monica Foisy Pashley on Feb. 8, 1945.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, John Pashley of Johnstown; a sister, Patricia Paul; and a brother, Robert Pashley of Old Forge.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Church.
There will be no calling hours.
Cremation will take place at Parkview Crematory in Schenectady.
Arrangements are by the Barter & Donnan Funeral Home.
Edward Jebos
July 25, 1996
Edward J. Jebos, SSG U.S. Army Retired, 69, died July 25, in El Paso, Texas, where he had been a resident since 1967 following his retirement from the U.S. Army after 20 years of active service.
He was a veteran of the Korean War. After his retirement from the military, he also worked for the Fort Bliss Fire Department for about 15 years.
Mr. Jebos is survived by his sister, Sadie Motyl of Amsterdam; and two nieces, Barbara Motyl and Shirley Motyl, also of Amsterdam.
Cremation arrangements were by Kaster-Maxon & Futrell Funeral Home in El Paso, Texas.
Max Maraszkiewicz
August 22, 1996
Max J. Maraszkiewicz, 81, of Cady Street, Johnstown, died Thursday afternoon at home.
Mr. Maraszkiewicz was born and educated in Amsterdam. In his early years, he worked for the former Bigelow Sanford Carpet Mills.
During World War II, he worked for the former American Locomotive in Schenectady, and also served in the Merchant Marine.
Mr. Maraszkiewicz worked for the former Teetz-McKay Glove Co. for many years. He then worked for the former Pan American Tannery in Gloversville and the former Karg Tannery. He also worked for the Olin Constructions of Camillus, Onondaga County, and most recently worked for the Henry Smullen & Son Construction Co. in Meco, retiring in 1977.
Mr. Maraszkiewicz was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church and a member of the Johnstown Loyal Order of Moose.
He marrried Helen V. Banovic Maraszkiewicz on Oct. 8, 1938.
In addition to his wife, survivors include three daughters, Mary Moreno of Albuquerque, N.M., Katherine Hladik of Johnstown and Maxine Puglis of Mentor, Ohio; a sister, Sadie Kuehnel of Johnstown; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at a time and date to be announced by the Ehle Funeral Home.
Cremation will take place in the Leatherstocking Crematory, Cherry Valley.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice or to St. Anthony's Church.
