Born in Syracuse, he graduated from Syracuse University as a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and received his PhD. from Case Western Reserve in 1958. He was a former professor of chemistry at State University College at Oswego and he did some research in phosphors for General Electric Co. in Ohio. Survivors: Two brothers, Ronald of Manlius and Mark of Wilmington, Del. Services: Private. No calling hours. Birnbaum Funeral Service, Syracuse, has arrangements. Ray J. Miller

Ray Joseph Miller, 82, of Winks Road, Fulton, died Tuesday. He was born in Leominster, Mass. He was a self-employed musician and traveled across the United States performing as the Ray Miller One Man Band. His first radio performance was on WMBO in Auburn. He was inducted into the New York State Country Music Hall of Fame in Cortland. He entertained the troops on radio stations like WSYR during World War II. A daughter, Delores McCann, died previously. Survivors: A daughter, Dixie Proctor of Palermo; a son, Danny of Palermo; a sister, Clara Jerard of Millbury, Mass.; a brother, Alex of Millbury; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren. Norman E. Myhill, 78, of 1218 Old County Route 3, Hannibal, died Wednesday at Loretto Heights Nursing Home in Oswego. Born in Fulton, he was a life resident of Oswego County. He retired from Birds Eye Co. in Fulton and had operated a farm in Bowens Corners. Survivor: A sister, Lena Gray of Oswego. Services: Private. Burial, Fairdale Rural Cemetery. No calling hours. Kathryn Anne "Katie" O'Marah, 18, of 8147 Rappala Way, Clay, died Monday from injuries suffered in an automobile accident. Born in Rochester, she graduated from Cicero-North Syracuse High School in 2001. She was attending Onondaga Community College studying liberal arts. She worked part time at Eckerd Drugs and was a waitress at the Sheraton Hotel in Syracuse. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Cicero and had been a Girl Scout. Survivors: Her parents, James and Sheila Lightfoot O'Marah of Clay; a brother, Scott, at home; her paternal grandmother, Mabel J. O'Marah of Ogdensburg. Services and burial: Will be in Ogdensburg. Milton T. Oliver, 88, of 7829 Rinaldo Blvd. W., Bridgeport, died Tuesday. Born in Utica, he graduated in 1933 from Minoa High School. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Tamblin; a daughter, Laurie Gregory of Liverpool; three sons, Thomas of Canastota, Walter of Bridgeport and Dennis of Kansas City, Kan.; 17 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. Millard Homer Pitts, 69, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., died Saturday. Born in Gouverneur, he lived in Jordan 16 years before moving to Florida in 1982. He was an electrician for International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. A daughter, Gail M. Morrissette, died in 1999. Survivors: His wife of 48 years, the former Maureen Ruest; two sons, Ricky W. of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Gregg R. of Baldwinsville; two daughters, Janice M. Vincenza "Jean" Egidio Spensieri, 88, of Liverpool, died Wednesday. She was born in Elizabeth, N.J. She was a homemaker. He retired in 1998 as a landscaper after more than 50 years. He was also a truck driver for the former Springmeir Trucking Co. and a member of Teamsters Local 317. He was a member of Sullivan Fish and Game Club in North Chittenango and the National Rifle Association. Survivors: His wife of 49 years, the former Florence Rockwell; two daughters, Lory Harp of Chittenango and Christine Lauricella of Liverpool; three sons, Norman J. II of Montezuma, Jeffrey L. of Mexico and Randall T. of Kirkville; a sister, Evelyn Kingsley of Arizona; two brothers, Leonard of Florida and Warren of Kirkville; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. He retired in 1994 as a systems analyst for Proctor & Gamble in Norwich after 12 years. He also worked for Sylvania Corp. in Camillus, Rockwell Mfg. Co. in Syracuse and was director of alumni records for Syracuse University. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Survivors: His wife of 50 years, the former Carmela Polla; a daughter, Lisa A. Dorothy Wagner Dotterer, 91, formerly of Wadsworth Street, Syracuse, died Thursday at James Square Health & Rehabilitation Centre. Born in Syracuse, she graduated as valedictorian from Vocational High School. She was an executive secretary for the Department of Agriculture in  Washington, D.C., during World War II. She was a life communicant of Assumption Church and a former member of the Corinthian Club. Her husband, John I., died Feb. 27. Survivors: Two daughters, Mary D. Michel of Liverpool and Ann P. She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church and its Altar Guild. She was active with the Westhill Parent Teachers Association and Girl Scouts of America. Her husband, W. Kenneth, died in 1981.
