Dr. William Peacher

Dr. William Peacher, 87, of Riverside,  Calif., died May 19 of congestive heart failure. Born in New Brunswick, he moved to Syracuse in 1918 and graduated from Syracuse University in 1935 and the College of Chinese Acupuncture in 1973. He received two master's degrees, a medical degree and a doctorate from SU. He practiced neurosurgery in Syracuse from 1946 to '78 and in Riverside from 1978 until retiring in 1998. He was a member of Royal Order of Jesters, National Sojourners and Royal Order of Scotland. He was past grand historian Grand Lodge and Keder Khan Grotto. He was also grand master first veil and grand high priest of the Grand Chapter, State of New Royal Arch Masons. He was an Army veteran and served as a captain in the Medical Corps from 1943 to '46. His wife, the former Sarah Moore, died in 2001. Survivors: Five daughters, Lynne Goetting of Downingtown, Pa., Gayle Bartlett of Chicago, Sarah Yafchak of Manlius, Alison Coon of Highland Village,  Texas, and Jacquelyn Peacher of Riverside,  Calif.; a sister, Dr. Georgiana M. Peacher of Brunswick, Maine; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Memorial services: Will be in Riverside and in the Poconos. Neptune Society, Riverside, has arrangements. Contributions: American Heart Association, Upstate New York Chapter, 5575 Thompson Road, Syracuse 13214-1693.

Leo A. Remillard Sr

Leo A. Remillard Sr., 79, of Hamilton died Wednesday. He was born in Cohoes. He was a maintenance engineer for Penfield Manufacturing in Syracuse and a former member of Pastime Athletic Club in Syracuse. He was an Army veteran of World War II. His wife, Beatrice, died in 1997. Survivors: Four daughters, Georgiana LeMay of West Palm Beach, Fla., Linda Remillard and Pamela McConnell, both of Phoenix, and Chris Remillard of Baldwinsville; two sons, Leo Jr. of Bridgeport and John of Plymouth; five sisters, Rhea Bouchard of North Providence, R.I., Alice DeMerse and Ida Shagalski, both of Cohoes, Edna Patanaude of Clifton Park and Joan Simonds of Pattersonville; four brothers, Edgar of Burke, Arthur of Colton, William of Rotterdam and Ernest of Cohoes; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild. Services: Private. No calling hours. Smith Funeral Home, Cortland, has arrangements. Contributions: American Heart Association, Box 3049, Syracuse 13220-3049.

Jane Robson

Jane Robson, 79, of New Port Richey, Fla., died Tuesday. Born in Syracuse, she lived in Liverpool until moving to Florida in 1977. She had been a secretary for Agricultural Insurance in Watertown, New York Telephone Co., Liverpool Central Schools and Prudential Tropical Realty in New Port Richey. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in New Port Richey. Survivors: Her husband of 48 years, Alton; two sons, Richard of Lawton, Okla., and Robin of Liverpool; a sister, Betty Nill of Port Richey, Fla.; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild. Services: Private. Morgan Funeral Home, New Port Richey, has arrangements.

Margaret Snyder

Margaret "Peg" Williams Snyder, 73, of 228 W. First St., Oswego, died Wednesday. Born in Wilkes Barre, Pa., she lived in Oswego 45 years. She retired in 1995 as a registered nurse at Oswego Hospital after 35 years. She was a communicant of Faith United Church in Oswego. She was a member of Eastern Star and Zonta International, both in Oswego. She was a member of Whango Grotto. Her husband, Girard, died in 1978. Survivors: Two daughters, Barbara Hennessy and Laura Snyder, both of Oswego; a son, William of Oswego; three grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday in Faith United Church. Burial, Wrightstown, Pa. Calling hours, 4 to 7 p.m. today at Sugar and Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. Fourth St., Oswego.

Paul M. Snyder

Paul M. Snyder, 44, of Utica died Tuesday. Born in Syracuse, he lived in North Syracuse 37 years until moving away in 1995. He attended Henninger High School. His parents, Bernard and Evelyn Schuff Snyder, died previously. Survivors: A daughter, Sarah Snyder; two sons, Jeremy and Tyler; four sisters, Bonnie Clemens of Oriskany Falls, Evelyn McNulty of Bridgeport, Nancy and Bernadette Snyder, both of Syracuse; three brothers, William Sullivan of New Hartford, Gary and Patrick Snyder, both of Syracuse. Memorial services: 1 p.m. today at Friedel, Williams, Coriale & Edmunds Funeral Home, 1123 Court St., Utica. No calling hours.

Donald N. Stout
June 28, 2002
Donald N. Stout, 69, of Ilion died Sunday. Born in Syracuse, he lived there until moving to Ilion in November. He was a laborer at Bronson Interiors in Syracuse. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Survivors: His wife, the former Mary Corey; three sons, Steve of Alabama, Paul of  Louisiana and David of Ohio; two stepdaughters, Roxanne and Shonda Corey; two stepsons, Joseph Camber and Charles Williams, both of Liverpool; several grandchildren. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Pirro & Sons Funeral Home, 514 Turtle St., Syracuse. Burial, Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. No calling hours.

Sam V. Tesoriero

Sam V. Tesoriero, 85, of 544 W. Fifth St., Oswego, died Wednesday at St. Luke Health Services in Oswego. He was a life resident of Oswego. He owned and operated Nunzi's and Salvador's Grove in the town of Oswego and had also been an ironworker. He was a member of Oswego Elks Lodge and Oswego County Sheriff's Benevolent Association and was an honorary member of Psi Phi Fraternity. His wife, the former Catherine Salvador, died March 16. Survivors: A daughter, Peggy Wiltsie of Oswego; a sister, Josephine Paluzzi of California; a grandson; a great-grandson; three stepgrandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren. Services: 9 a.m. Monday at Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home and 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church. Burial, St. Peter's Cemetery All Saints Mausoleum. Calling hours, 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 112 E. Second St., Oswego. Contributions: St. Luke Health Services, Route 481, Oswego 13126.

Howard C. Rumsey, 79, of Stafford died Monday, October 9, 2000.
