Mr. David J. Sergeant

CLYDE- Mr. David J. Sergeant, 41, of 251 Glasgow Street
died Wednesday (October 8, 2003) as the result of
injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday (October
11th) from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Baris Funeral Home, 87
W. Genesee St. Clyde. Funeral services will be held on
Monday at 10AM in the Clyde United Methodist Church,
Sodus St. Clyde, with the Rev. Gordon Pearsall officiating.
Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Clyde.
Memorial contributions to the Clyde Volunteer Ambulance
Corps, P.O. Box 145, Clyde, NY 14433 or to the Clyde
Fire Department would be appreciated.
Mr. Sergeant was born in Lyons, NY on January 3,
1962.He was the son of James D. and Carolyn S.
Compson Sergeant. Dave was employed by the Thomas
Electronics Company in Clyde, and was an avid weight-
lifter. He had lived in Clyde for the past 22 years, and prior
to that had lived in Lyons.
Surviving are 3 sons, Christian Pickering of Clyde,
Christopher Sergeant of Clyde and Andrew Smith of
South Butler, 2 daughters, Bree Sergeant of Clyde and
Brooke of Savannah, and one-step daughter Carrie
Pickering of Texas. His parents, James D. Sergeant of
Savannah and Carolyn S. Ruiz of Newark. His step-father,
Diego Rosario of Puerto Rico. 2 brothers, Juan A. Rosario
of Lyons and Juan D. (Diane) Rosario of Newark, and 3
sisters, Urcelina Rosario of Seneca Falls, Elinor (Timothy)
Cain of Lyons and Carolyn Rosario of Newark. Many
nieces and nephews.

Mr. Erin Scott Cator

CLYDE- Mr. Erin Scott Cator, 23, of 42 East Genesee
St.,died Tuesday (October 7, 2003) as the result of
injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday
(October 9th) from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Baris Funeral
Home, 87 W. Genesee St. Clyde. A Mass of Christian
Burial will be celebrated on Friday (October 10th) at 10:30
AM in St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church in Clyde, with
the Rev. James Hewes officiating. Burial will follow in St.
John's Cemetery.
Memorial contributions to the Clyde Volunteer Ambulance
Corps, P.O. Box 145, Clyde, NY 14433 would be
appreciated.
Erin was born in Geneva, NY on July 14, 1980. He was
the son of Edwin and Joanne Murray Cator. He had
attended Clyde-Savannah schools, and had been formerly
employed by Agway Fertilizer Co. in Lyons before
becoming disabled. Prior to that, he had worked in I.E.C.
and Ultra Life Batteries in Newark.
Erin is survived his mother, Joanne Cator of Clyde, his
father, Edwin Cator of Florida, his brother, Darrick Cator
of Clyde, his step-father, Rickey Forjone of Clyde. Also,
his maternal grandmother, Barbara Murray of Lake
Charles, LA and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and
nephews.

Mrs. Arley Mae DeLisio
CLYDE- Mrs. Arley Mae DeLisio, 77, of 265 Glasgow Street, died Sunday (November 30, 2003) at Strong Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday (December 3rd) from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Baris Funeral Home, 87 W. Genesee St. Clyde. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday (December 4th) at 2:00PM in St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church with the Rev. James Hewes officiating. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Clyde.
Memorial contributions in her memory to St. John’s Church Memorial Fund, 114 Sodus St. Clyde, NY 14433, would be appreciated.
Mrs. DeLisio was born on September 26, 1926 in Webster, NY. She was the daughter of Raymond and Lillian Schreiber Lochner. Arley Mae graduated from Leavenworth Central School in Wolcott in 1944, then furthered her education at Nazareth College, where she graduated with a Bachelors of Arts degree in 1948.On July 19, 1951 she married the late Louis A. DeLisio, who predeceased her on December 24, 1999. Mrs. DeLisio taught both full and part time at the Clyde Central School. Arley Mae and her husband, Louis, owned and operated the Western Auto store in Clyde until their retirement in the early 1970’s. She was an active member of St. John’s Church in Clyde, and had also volunteered countless hours at the Wayne County Nursing Home and in caring for her friends.
She is survived by her son, Jack (Sharon) DeLisio of Fairport, her 4grandchildren, Christopher (Lindsey) DeLisio of Dallas TX, Mollie Clare (Felipe) Avelino of Denton, TX, Jaclyn (Pedro) Salgado of Denton, TX., and Heather Mehl DeLisio of Fairport, her 4 great-grandchildren Derek Westervelt, Frankie Avelino, Celia and Karinna Salgado, several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Margaret E. Marcikowski

CLYDE- Mrs. Margaret E. Marcikowski, 89, of 111 East
Dezeng St. died peacefully Tuesday (November 18, 2003)
at her home with her family by her side.
At her request, there will be no prior calling hours. A Mass
of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday
(November 22nd) at 10AM in St. John the Evangelist R.C.
Church, with Rev. James Hewes officiating. Burial will
follow in St. John's Cemetery.

Church Memorial Fund, 114 Sodus St., Clyde, NY 14433
or Genesee Region Home Care, 513 W. Union St.,
Newark, NY 14513 would be appreciated.
Mrs. Marcikowski was born in Clyde, NY on July 11, 1914.
She was the daughter of Amedio and Maria Salerno
Steffanucio. On January 21, 1944 she married her late
husband Leo, who predeceased her on June 2, 1999. Her
and her husband moved to North Syracuse where they
lived for over 30 years. She worked as a nurse's aide in
Syracuse University's Hospital. They retired to Pinellas
Park, Florida for 14 years, and then moved back to Clyde
in 1994. Margaret was a member of St. John's Church for
many years.
She is survived by her brother, Mr. Thomas (Jennie)
Steve of Clyde, her sister-in-law, Mrs. Mary Steve of
Clyde, a special nephew, Daniel (Marcia) Bilancini of
Lyons and many other nieces, nephews, great nieces and
great nephews.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Baris
Funeral Home, Clyde, NY.

Mr. Harlow (Butch) G. Hayes

CLYDE- Mr. Harlow (Butch) G. Hayes, 68, of Washington
Street Newark, formerly of East Genesee St., Clyde died
Saturday (January 3, 2004) at his residence in Newark, NY.
Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday (Jan.
7th) from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Baris Funeral Home, 87 W.
Genesee St. Clyde. A Mass of Christian Burial will be
celebrated on Thursday (Jan 8th) at 11:30AM in St John
the Evangelist R.C. Church. with the Rev. James Hewes
officiating. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Clyde.
Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the
American Cancer Society 1200 Driving Park Ave., Newark,
NY 14513 or to the American Diabetes Association 595

Butch was born in Watertown, NY on September 3, 1935.
He was the son of Francis and Genevieve Murdock Hayes.
Mr. Hayes was a resident of Clyde since 1942, and had
previously worked for the Graphax Co in Rochester, and
then retired after 30 years of service with the Newark
Developmental Center.
In his younger years, Butch played basketball, baseball and
tennis for the Clyde High School. He was also an avid
bowler and billiards player. This coming April, Butch was to
be inducted as an honorary member of the Clyde Sports
Hall of Fame. Mr. Hayes was a past member of the George
Washington Lodge in Clyde.
He is survived by his companion of 33 years, Sheila
Teachout, four children, Kelly Lynn Hayes of Clyde, Daniel
Hayes, Darryl Hayes and Doreen Hayes, 5 grandchildren,
one sister Helen Schaut of Mt. Pleasant, PA. 2 nephews, 1
niece and 1 great-nephew.
He was predeceased by his brother Robert in 2003.

Mrs. Tiny Lauster

CLYDE- Mrs. Tiny Lauster, 77, of 10 Reese St. died
Friday (November 28, 2004) at Highland Hospital in
Rochester following an extended illness.
Family and friends are invited to call on Monday
(December 1st) from 7 to 9 PM, and Tuesday (December
2nd) from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Baris Funeral Home, 87 W.
Genesee St. Clyde. A Mass of Christian Burial will be
celebrated on Wednesday (December 3rd) at 11AM in St.
John the Evangelist R.C. Church, Clyde, with Rev. James
Hewes officiating. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in her memory to St. John the
Evangelist Church, 114 Sodus Street, Clyde, NY 14433
would be appreciated.
Mrs. Lauster was born in Clyde on August 16, 1926. She
was the daughter of the late Santo and Mary DeLesio
DeFabio. She was a lifetime resident of Clyde and
member of St. John's Church. Tiny had worked for the
General Electric Co., in Clyde and then the Parker-
Hannifin Corp in Clyde for many years. Her husband Glen
predeceased her on December 6, 1994. Tina was an avid
bingo player and would frequent 4 or 5 bingo halls each
week.
She is survived by one daughter, Ruth (Ronald) Sipes of
Clyde, six sons; Glen (Linda) Lauster, John Lauster, Paul
(Chris) Lauster, Bruce (Michelle) Lauster, Steve Lauster
and Mark (Trish) Lauster all of Clyde, 19 grandchildren, 8
great-grandchildren, three sisters, Carmella (John) Volpe
of Clyde, Marianna Plante of Clyde and Theresa Ellis of
Newark. Also many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Peter and Joseph
DeFabio and two sisters, Josephine Donselaar and
Philomena Noble.

Mrs. Martha (Marty) Leonard

CLYDE- Mrs. Martha (Marty) Leonard, 46, of 15 Hill St.
died Wednesday (January 7, 2004) at Clifton Springs
Hospital following an extended illness.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday (Jan.
10th) from 11 AM to 1PM at the Baris Funeral Home, 87
W. Genesee St. Clyde. Funeral services will follow at 1PM
at the funeral home with Rev. Dana Rattray officiating. Burial will be in the spring at the
convenience of the family.

Volunteer Ambulance Corps, PO Box 145, Clyde, NY
14433 or to the American Cancer Society, 1200 Driving
Park Ave., Newark, NY 14513 would be appreciated.
Marty was born on February 20, 1957 in Lowville, NY. She
was the daughter of William and Shirley Hall Mekkelson.
She was a graduate of Northville Central School in 1975.
Mrs. Leonard had been a resident of Clyde for the past 17
years moving here from West Palm Beach, FL. Marty
was employed by the Colacino Electric Co. of Newark, for
the past 5 years. She was a member of the women's
bowling league and had been an avid bowler for many
years. Marty will always be remembered for her wonderful
sense of humor.
She is survived by her husband Richard Leonard of Clyde,
her two children Brandon and Ashley, two sisters Marian
(John Chrisman) O'Brien of Davenport, NY and Anne
Lorica of Albany, NY, one brother Michael (Linda)
Mekkelson of Alabama, several nieces, nephews, aunts,
uncles and cousins, and her two special friends Mary
Sebastiano and Cindy Golembeski.
She was pre-deceased by her parents and by her step-
father, Charles Levesque.
