Phyllis A. Dicken
Clyde / Lyons- Mrs. Phyllis A. Dicken, 63, of 2147 Gannett Rd.,
Lyons, died Thursday December 16, 2004 at her home following
an extended illness. At her request calling hours will not be
observed. Funeral services and burial will be private.
Mrs. Dicken was born on November 10, 1941 in South Fork, PA.
She was the daughter of John and Helen Sipe Walls.
Surviving are her daughter, Christina (Troy Sebring) Power
of Lyons, her son Gerald Dicken of Ohio, her brother,
Richard Walls of Ohio and one grandchild.
Anna E. Romano
CLYDE- Mrs. Anna E. Romano, 88, of 19 East Dezeng St.,
died Sunday (January 16, 2004) at the Wayne County
Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family.
Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday (Jan.
19th) from 4-7 PM at the Baris Funeral Home, 87 W.
Genesee St. Clyde. A Mass of Christian Burial will be
celebrated on Thursday (Jan. 20th) at 11AM in St. John the
Evangelist R.C. Church with Rev. James Hewes officiating.
Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Clyde.

Street, Clyde, NY 14433.
Mrs. Romano was born in Clyde on December 18, 1916.
She was the daughter of Abraham and Veronica Cordiano
DeLuca. On December 3, 1938 she married Melia Romano,
who predeceased her on April 6, 1984. She and her
husband owned and operated the Village Inn on Columbia
St. for over 15 years. She had retired from the General
Electric Company in Auburn. Anna's greatest enjoyment
was baking Christmas cookies for her family and friends.
She also enjoyed canning and being around children.
Surviving are her two daughters, Veronica (Terry) Nelson of
Raleigh, NC and Barbara (James) Krueger of Newark, and
her 3 grandchildren James Krueger Jr., Laura Krueger and
Michael Nelson.
Besides her husband, she was pre deceased by one sister,
Mary Petocci, and her 4 brothers, Joseph, Peter, John and
Dominick DeLuca.
Mrs. Edna M. (Aunt Mae) Sims
CLYDE- Mrs. Edna M. Sims, 69, of 173 Glasgow Street,
died Wednesday (November 24, 2004) at Geneva
General Hospital following a courageous battle with
cancer.
Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday (Nov.
28th) from 2-4 and 6-8PM. at the Baris Funeral Home, 87
W. Genesee St., Clyde. Funeral services will be Monday
(Nov. 29th) at 10 AM at the funeral home. Burial will
follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Clyde.

appreciated.
Mrs. Sims was born on April 14, 1935 in Grand Ridge,
FL. She was the daughter of Ben Jenkins and Julie Smith
She moved to Clyde in 1963 from Port Byron Her
greatest joy in life was spending time with her nieces,
nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Surviving are one daughter, Nancy Sims of Clyde, 2
sons, Otis Cruise and Curtis Sims both of Clyde, one
brother Raymond (Betty) Smith of Clyde and one sister
Eloise Smith of Clyde, a sister-in-law, Florzell Smith of
Grand Ridge, FL. many nieces, nephews, great-nieces
and great-nephews.
She was pre-deceased by 1 sister, Hiawatha Petty, 4
brothers, Herman, Richard, Lovette, and Robert Smith
and a special friend, Clinton Keys.
Mrs. Virginia M. Swick
CLYDE- Mrs. Virginia M. Swick, 92, formerly of 52
Meadow Street, died Thursday (November 25, 2004) at the
Wayne County Nursing Home in Lyons where she has
been a resident for the past 12 years.
At her request, there will be no prior calling hours. Family
and friends are invited to attend funeral services on
Saturday (Nov.27th) at 9:30 AM at the Baris Funeral
Home, 87 W. Genesee St., Clyde. Rev. James Hewes,
Pastor of St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church will
officiate. Private burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery,
Clyde.
Memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association,
435 East Henrietta Road Rochester, NY 14620 would be
appreciated.
Mrs. Swick was born in Elkton, PA on August 21, 1912.
She was the daughter of Louis and Emma Ciccone
Paciulli. She was raised in Penn Yan, NY and moved to
Clyde over 50 years ago. On August 22, 1920 she
married the late Edward Swick, who predeceased her on
February 10, 1983. She was formerly employed by the General
Electric Co. of Auburn where she worked as an inspector.
Mrs. Swick was an avid gardener and enjoyed drawing.
Surviving are 4 sons, Ralph (Veronica) Swick of Clyde,
Edward (Dorothy) Swick of Port Washington, NY, Richard
(Beatrice) Swick of Clyde and Gary (Marilyn) Swick of
Palmyra. Her sister, Anna Paciulli of Penn Yan, 11
grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces
and nephews.
Mr. Franklin L. Norris Sr.
CLYDE - Mr. Franklin L. Norris, Sr., 62, of 35 Columbia
Street died Sunday (December 16, 2001) at Via Health of
Wayne Newark Campus following a brief illness.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday (December
19th) from 7-9 PM at the Baris Funeral Home, 87 W.
Genesee St. Clyde. Funeral services will be held at the
funeral home on Thursday (December 20th) at 11 AM
with Rev. James Hewes officiating. Burial will follow in
Huron Evergreen Cemetery, Wolcott, NY.
Mr. Norris was born in Wolcott, NY on July 11, 1939. He
was the son of Richard and Charlotte Shove Norris. He
had been a longtime employee of the Hemmingway
Company in Clyde, and most recently had worked for
LSW Industries in Clyde. On April 13, 1974 he married
the former Emily Cushman.
Surviving are his wife Emily Norris of Clyde, 2 daughters,
Tina (Winfield) Crocker of Wolcott, and Caroline Norris of
Idaho, 2 sons, Franklin (Nancy) Norris Jr. of Duncannon
PA., and Michael (Caroline) Norris of Newark. 2 brothers,
Richard (Irene) Norris of Lyons, and Jack (Judy) Norris of
Wolcott, 4 sisters, Francis Gary of Clyde, Frieda Petrus
of Clyde, Leona (Michael) Stirpe of Clyde and Joyce
(Gordon) Everdyke of Florida. 10 grandchildren, 2 great-
grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Mary A. Hall
SAVANNAH - Mrs. Mary A. Hall, 85, of 1662 Lopez Lane,
died Thursday (January 31, 2002) at the Wayne County
Nursing Home following a brief illness.
Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday (February
3rd) from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Baris Funeral Home, 87
West Genesee St, Clyde. A Mass of Christian Burial will
be celebrated on Monday (February 4th) at 10:15 AM in
St. Patrick's R.C. Church, Savannah, with the Rev.
Gramke officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim's Rest
Cemetery, Savannah, at the convenience of the family.

Mrs. Hall was born on July 16, 1916 in Auburn, NY. She
was the daughter of Walter and Anna Kerwin Yantch. On
October 3, 1936 she married the late Herman Hall, and at
that time they moved to Savannah, NY. Mary was a
member of St. Patrick's Church, and a member in the
Gleason Court of the Catholic Daughters of America. Mrs.
Hall had formerly been employed by the Sylvania
Company in Seneca Falls. Mary will be most remembered
as a loving mother and grandmother, and for her love of
children. She spent many countless hours babysitting
within her own family and for children of other familes.
Surviving are four daughters, Donna (Ronald) Dennis of
Phoenix, AZ., Margaret (John) Pawlyk of Elbridge, NY,
Kathleen (John) Graham of Auburn, NY and Linda
(Raymond) Bunney of Moreno Valley, CA. one son, John
(Margaret) Hall of Phoenix, AZ, 2 sisters, Dorothy
Reardon of Auburn, and Ruth Yantch of Auburn, one
brother, Walter (Janet) Yantch, of Williamson, 13
grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, and several
nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, Herman Hall in
1991 and by her brother, David Yantch.
Mr. Francis French
CLYDE- Mr. Francis J. French, 90, of 104 Elm Street, died
Saturday (January 26, 2002) at the Wayne County Nursing
Home following an extended illness.
There will be no prior calling hours. Funeral services will be
held on Thursday (January 31st) at 2P.M. in the Baris
Funeral Home, 87 W. Genesee St. Clyde, NY 14433 with
Rev. Robert Searle, pastor of the Clyde United Methodist
Church officiating. Burial will follow in East Newark
Cemetery, Newark, NY.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Clyde Volunteer
Ambulance Corps, P.O. Box 145, Clyde, NY 14433 or to
the Humane Society of Wayne County, 1475 County House
Rd., Lyons, NY 14489 would be appreciated.
Mr. French was born on March 11, 1911 in Brushton, NY.
He was the son of William and Margaret Manning French.
Francis moved to Clyde in 1940, where he became the
manager of the Market Basket Grocery Store in Clyde. In
1950, he and his wife purchased the Red & White Grocery
Store in Clyde, and they operated it until 1958, when he
became employed by the Consolidated Gas Co. of Phelps.
In 1970, Mr. French became employed as an investigator
for the Wayne County Department of Social Services and
he remained their until his retirement in 1978. Francis was
past president of the Clyde Rotary Club, Past Noble Grand
of the International Order of Odd Fellows in Clyde and a 25
year member of the Clyde Volunteer Fire Department,
serving in the Protective Hook and Ladder Company. He
and his wife Evelyn Lampman French celebrated their 68th
wedding anniversary this past November.
Surviving are his wife Evelyn of Clyde, one son, Mr. James
(Neva) French of Canastota, two daughters, Mrs. Shirley
(Leonard) Noble of Newark, and Mrs. Jeane Belair of
Newark., 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 1
great-great grandson.
