Mr. Ignazio (Joe) Restivo

CLYDE - Mr. Ignazio (Joe) Restivo, 61, of 195 Glasgow
Street, died suddenly on Monday (January 7, 2002) at Via
Health of Wayne Newark Campus. Family and friends are
invited to call on Wednesday (January 9th) from 7-9 PM
at the Baris Funeral Home, 87 W. Genesee St. Clyde.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday (January 10th)
at 10AM in the Christ Community Church, West Genesee
St. Clyde with Rev. Dana Rattray officiating. Burial will be
in Lake View Cemetery, Richfield Springs, NY at the
convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions to the Clyde Volunteer Ambulance
Corps would be appreciated.
Mr. Restivo was born in Camporeale, Italy on October 21,
1940. He was the son of Gerlando and Giuseppina
Rizzuto Restivo. Prior to moving to Clyde 10 years ago,
Mr. Restivo was a resident of the Richfield Springs area.
He and his wife, Elisabetta, owned and operated both the
Restivo Bakery and Restivo's Pizzeria in Clyde.
Surviving are his wife, Elisabetta Licaga Restivo of Clyde,
one daughter, Mrs. Sylvia (Braninir) Divac of Winchester,
VA., his mother, Giuseppina Restivo of Florence, Italy, 2
grandchildren, 5 sisters living in Italy and many nieces
and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by his son, Gerlando Restivo in
1983.

Betty J. Cushman

NORTH ROSE - Mrs. Betty J. Cushman, 72, of 4759 Taft
Road, Painted Post, formerly of North Rose, NY, died on
Sunday (December 30, 2001) at her home following an
extended illness.
Calling hours and funeral services will be on Thursday (January 3, 2002)
but at her request will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be Rose Cemetery, Rose, NY.
Mrs Cushman was born on May 3, 1929 in Norwich, NY.
She was the daughter of Walter and Marion Branch
Shafer. Mrs. Cushman was a resident of North Rose for
many years. She moved to the Painted Post area over 20
years ago, where her and her husband, Russell
Cushman, were the owners of the Cowanesque Hotel in
Lindley, NY.
She is survived by her husband, Russell Cushman of
Painted Post, NY, 2 daughters, Dawn (Michael) Yantch of
Ontario and Linda Green of Rose, 3 sons, Roger
Cushman of Rochester, David (Lori Thorn) Cushman of
Fulton, and Howard (Tammy) Cushman of Lindley, NY., 4
grandchildren, Jeffrey, Victoria, Kristen and Gordon, 2
sisters, Marjorie White of Caladonia and Helen DeGroat
of Great Bend, PA. 1 brother, Walter Shafer of Center
Isle, NY and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Baris
Funeral Home, Clyde, NY.

Mrs. Frances H. Sergeant

Savannah / Clyde- Mrs. Frances H. Sergeant, 64, of
2512 Reed Road died Sunday (March 24, 2002) at Via
Health of Wayne Newark Campus following an extended
illness.
Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday
(March 27th) from 7-9 PM at the Baris Funeral Home, 87
W. Genesee St. Clyde. Funeral services will be held on
Thursday (March 28th) at 1PM at the funeral home. Burial
will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Clyde, at the
convenience of the family.
Mrs. Sergeant was born in Oswego, NY on October 21,
1937. She was the daughter of Edward and Lizzie
Towsley Baker. She was a resident of the Clyde-
Savannah area for many years.
Surviving are her husband, James Sergeant of
Savannah, 2 sons, Stanley Rogers of Florida, and Leo
(Sandra) Rogers of Florida., 2 daughters, Patricia
(Chuck) Dombroski of Lester, NY and Lucy Reed of Vine
Valley, NY, 2 brothers, Irving (Nina) Baker of Florida, and
John (Diane) Baker of Oswego, 9 grandchildren, 5 great-
grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. William I. Powers

CLYDE- Mr. William I. Powers, 79, of 143 Columbia
Street, died Monday (April 15, 2002) at Via Heath of
Wayne Newark following a brief illness.
At his request, there will be no prior calling hours. Family
and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on
Friday (April 19th) at 11AM in the Rose Cemetery, Rose,
NY.
Memorial contributions to the Clyde Volunteer Ambulance
Corps would be appreciated.
Mr. Powers was born on September 1, 1922 in
Harrisburg, Vermont. He was the son of William and
Pearl Cartier Powers. He served in the United States
Army during World War II, and was a member of Post
947 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Clyde. Bill was
retired from the Fold Pak Corporation of Newark, where
he was employed for over 20 years. He was also an avid
Boston Red Sox baseball fan and enjoyed fishing in his
spare time. This past Sunday (April 14th), he and his
wife, Helen, celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary.
He is survived by his wife Helen Powers of Clyde,
two daughters, Carolyn (Roger) Bishop of Geneseo and
Elizabeth Labreck of Glover, VT. Two sons, Irving (Patty)
Powers of Lyons and William Powers of Mobile, Alabama,
8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces
and nephews.

Mr. Frederick Buttaccio

CLYDE- Mr. Frederick Buttaccio, 90, of 47 W. Genesee
St. died Thursday (April 4, 2002) at Via Health of Wayne
Newark Campus following a brief illness.
Family and friends may call on Sunday (April 7th) from 2-
4 & 7-9 PM at the Baris Funeral Home, 87 W. Genesee
St. Clyde. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on
Monday (April 8th) at 9AM in St. John the Evangelist R.C.
Church in Clyde with Rev. James Hewes officiating.
Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Clyde.
Memorial contributions to Caring Friends of Wayne
County, 24 S. Park Street, Clyde, NY 14433 or St. John
the Evangelist Church, 114 Sodus Street, Clyde, NY
14433 would be appreciated.
Fred was born on September 21, 1911 in Newark, NY.
He was the son of Thomas and Rose Fischette Buttaccio.
He was a lifelong communicant of St. John the Evangelist
Church. Fred was retired from the Seneca Army Depot,
and formerly worked in the local creamery and on the
family farm. He was an avid vegetable gardener. Fred was
a member of the Sons of Italy Lodge.
He is survived by his daughter, Brenda (Jim) Lawson of
Fairport, his son, Edward (Maria) Buttaccio of Walworth,
two granddaughters, Chelsea and Juliana Buttaccio of
Walworth. 4 sisters, Flora (Belmont) Avoli of Orchard
Park, NY, Anna (Fred) Burley of Clyde, Jane (John)
Dapolito of Clyde, and Delia Colarocco of Newark, his
brother, Raymond (Aggie) Buttaccio of Chambersburg,
PA, 3 sisters-in-law, Connie Buttaccio, Jean (Douglas)
Hinman, and Mary Mosher, his brother-in-law, Rudy
DeLisio, many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-
nephews, and special friends Donna & Jim Iati and Peter
Salerno Sr.
He was pre-deceased by his wife Barbara on December
15, 2001, his brothers Joe and Danny, his sister Eleanor
DeLisio, sisters-in-law Marjorie Vanleer, and Marian
Buttaccio, brothers-in-law George Mosher, Russell Groat,
and Jack Vanleer

Mrs. Mary Parkhurst

CLYDE- Mrs. Mary Parkhurst, 68, of 199 Glasgow Street
dies Friday (April 26, 2002) at Via Health of Wayne
Sodus Campus following a brief illness.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time, and
will be announced at a later date.

Mrs. Doris A. Howell

CLYDE- Mrs. Doris A. Howell, 93, of 65 Lock Street, died
Sunday (May 12, 2002) at the Seneca Manor Nursing
Home following an extended illness.
Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday (May 14th)
from 4-7 PM at the Baris Funeral Home, 87 W. Genesee
St. Clyde. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on
Wednesday (May 15th) at 9AM in St. John the Evangelist
R.C. Church Clyde. Burial will follow in Butler-Savannah
Cemetery. A reception will be held following the interment at
John's Restaurant, 110 Wayne Ave. Clyde, NY.
Memorial contributions to St. John's Church Memorial
Fund, 114 Sodus Street, Clyde, NY 14433 or to a charity of
one's choice would be appreciated.
Mrs. Howell was born in Savannah, NY on February 14,
1909. She was the daughter of Judson and Julia Darrow
Drable. Doris was a lifetime resident of Clyde, and on
August 10, 1929 married the late Louis F. Howell. She had
attended Auburn Memorial Hospital's Nursing Program, and
worked as a Practical Nurse specializing in "In Home" care.
During World War II, Mrs. Howell had been employed in a
defense department plant in Weedsport, NY. She also
worked for General Electric in Clyde and most recently had
been a court attendant at the Wayne County Courthouse.
She was an active member of the Galen Republican Party.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Lou Ann Montemorano of
Clyde, two sons, Ralph Howell of Clyde and Gary (Kay)
Howell of Clyde, 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren
and 1 great-great grandchild. One brother, Mr. Jasper
Drable of Clyde and many nieces and nephews. She was
pre-deceased by her husband Louis in 1989 and one
grandson, Patrick Montemorano in 1964.
