Jose (Joe) F. Padilla

CLYDE / LYONS - Mr. Jose Padilla, 73, of 31 Pearl St.
Lyons, formerly of Clyde, died Monday (October 17,
2005) at Newark Wayne Hospital following a brief illness.
Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday (Oct.
20th) from 7-9 PM at the Baris Funeral Home, 87 W.
Genesee St., Clyde. Funeral services will be held on
Thursday evening at 9PM at the funeral home with Rev.
James Hewes, pastor of St. John the Evangelist R.C.
Church officiating. Burial will on Friday (Oct. 21st) at 10
AM in St. John's Cemetery, Clyde.
Mr. Padilla was born on April 20, 1932 in Puerto Rico.
He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He
resided in Lyons and had worked for the Village of Lyons
until 1967. In 1967 he moved to Clyde and was
employed by the Village of Clyde for 10 years. He moved
back to Lyons in 2003. Joe was an avid bingo player.
He is survived by his daughter, Michelle (Bruce) Lauster
of Clyde, his grandchildren Lindsey, Brandy and Kelsey
Lauster all of Clyde and other family members including
brothers and sisters in Puerto Rico, Grant (Faye) Van
Cleaf and family of South Carolina, and Katherine
VanCleaf and family of Palmyra.
He was pre-deceased by his wife Rose Sebastiano
Padilla in 1965 and his companion Catherine VanCleaf
in 2003.

Howard D. Steele

SAVANNAH- Howard D. Steele, 50, of 2200 Reed Rd.,
died Wednesday (October 19, 2005) at Strong Memorial
Hospital, Rochester, following an extended illness.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday (Oct.
22nd) from Noon to 2 PM at the Baris Funeral Home, 87
West Genesee St., Clyde. Funeral services will be
Saturday at 2PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in
Carusoe Cemetery, Savannah.
Mr. Steele was born on September 21, 1955. He was the
son of Volney and Dorothy Black Steele. He was a
lifetime resident of Savannah and had been employed
for many years as a truck driver for D & H Farms of
Savannah. Howard was also an avid NASCAR race fan.
He enjoyed driving stock cars in the local circuits, as well
as working on his friends and neighbor's automobiles.
Surviving are his wife, Andrea Steele of Savannah, his
mother Dorothy Steele of Savannah, his sons Howard J.,
Jesse, and Justin Steele all of Savannah, his sisters
Mildred Church of Morrisville, NC, Patricia Steele of
Savannah and Pam LaClair of Savannah, 3 grandsons
and a special friend, Michele Durham of Savannah.
He was pre-deceased by his father, Volney Steele.

Carolyn S. Ruiz

NEWARK - Mrs. Carolyn S. Ruiz, 62, of 103 East Maple
Ave., died Saturday (October 29, 2005) at Newark
Wayne Community Hospital following a brief illness.
Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday (Nov.
2nd) from 7-9 PM at the Baris Funeral Home, 87 W.
Genesee St., Clyde. Funeral services will be held on
Thursday (Nov.3rd) at 10 AM in the Clyde United
Methodist Church with Debbie Leisenring officiating.
Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Waterloo.
Memorial contributions to the American Heart Association
would be appreciated.
Mrs. Ruiz was born in Seneca Falls on October 30,
1942. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Ethel
Norton Compson. Carolyn was a resident of Newark for
over ten years, and prior to that had lived in Lyons for 17
years. She had been employed by the IEC Corporation
of Newark, and also had worked as an aide for The
Hearth Adult Care Home in Lyons. For many years, Mrs.
Ruiz was a short order cook at both Vince's and Helen's
Restaurants in Lyons. Carolyn was also a volunteer at
the VFW Post in Newark.
Surviving are 3 daughters, Urcelina Rosario of Seneca
Falls, Elinor (Timothy) Cain of Lyons and Carolyn Lopez
of Newark, 2 sons Juan Antonio Rosario and Juan Diego
Rosario both of Lyons, her brother Richard Compson of
Clyde, 19 grandchildren and 1 great grand child.
She was pre-deceased by her husband Raymond, her
son David Sergeant, and her brother Edward Compson.

Robert A. Gillette Sr.

SAVANNAH- Robert A. Gillette Sr., 91, of 12380 Route 31
Savannah, passed into heaven peacefully on Saturday
(November 19, 2005) at the Pines of Peace Hospice
Facility in Ontario, NY.
Family and friends are invited to call on Monday (Nov. 21st)
from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Baris Funeral Home, 87 W.
Genesee St., Clyde. Funeral services will be held at the
funeral home at 11 AM on Tuesday (Nov. 22nd) with the
Rev. James Hewes, pastor of St. Patrick's Church in
Savannah officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove
Cemetery, Clyde.
Memorial contributions to the Pines Of Peace Hospice
Facility, P.O. Box 238, Ontario, NY 14519 or to St. Patrick's
Church, 114 Sodus St., Clyde, NY 14433 would be
appreciated.
Mr. Gillette was born on February 4, 1914 in Clyde, NY.
He was the son of John and Grace Eldridge Gillette. He was a lifetime
resident of the Clyde Savannah area. He retired from the
General Electric Company as a supervisor where he was
employed for over 36 years. Robert enjoyed fishing and
hunting, and was instrumental in the construction of St.
Patrick's Church in Savannah.
Surviving are his son, Robert (Ruth) Gillette, Jr. of Clyde,
his daughters, Frances (Richard) Valerio of Newark and
Suzanne (Dale Soper) Galek of Wolcott, his brothers,
Donald (Beryl) Gillette of CT., and Ralph (Mabel) Gillette of
VA., many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife Thelma in 1999 and his
sister Carol DiBiaso.

Cynthia A. Noble

CLYDE- Ms. Cynthia A. Noble, 62, formerly of Geneva
St. in Clyde and Tya Dr. in Newark, died Wednesday
(November 23, 2005) at the Clifton Springs Hospital and
Clinic following an extended illness.
At Cindy's request, there will be no prior calling hours.
Family and friends are invited to attend her Funeral
Mass on Saturday (November 26th) at 11 AM in St. John
the Evangelist R.C. Church. Rev. James Hewes will
officiate. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Clyde.
Memorial contributions to St. John's Church Memorial
Fund, 114 Sodus St., Clyde, NY 14433 or to St.
Michael's Church, 401 S. Main St., Newark, NY 14513.
would be appreciated.
Cynthia was born on June 1, 1943, the daughter of
Raymond and Teresa Braccio Noble. She had been a
resident of Newark for 3 years, and had lived in Clyde for
over 56 years. Cindy was formerly employed as the
Human Resource Director of the Newark Manor Nursing
Home where she worked for over 31 years.
Ms. Noble was a member of St. John the Evangelist
Church in Clyde, and had been a member and leader of
the local chapter of the Junior Catholic Daughters of
America. She was also a member of St. John's choir, and
had taught religion in St. John's school. Cindy was an
avid bowler.
Surviving are her sister, Angeline (George) VonFuchs of
Renton, WA. 2 nephews, Kurt VonFuchs of Seattle, WA
and Erik VonFuchs of Duvall, WA., 2 nieces Annamarie
Peach of Richland, WA and Teresa VonFuchs of New
York City, 4 step-nieces and nephews and several aunts,
uncles and cousins.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Baris
Funeral Home, Clyde, NY.

Jane M. DiSanto

CLYDE- Mrs. Jane M. DiSanto, 89, of 199 Sodus Street,
died unexpectedly Tuesday (November 29, 2005) at her
home.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday
(December 2nd) from 3-8 PM at the Baris Funeral Home,
87 W. Genesee St., Clyde. There will be a group visitation
of the Catholic Daughters of America on Friday evening at 5PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held
on Saturday (December 3rd) at 11 AM in St. John the
Evangelist R.C. Church. Rev. James Hewes will officiate.
Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. John's
Church Memorial Fund would be appreciated.
Mrs. DiSanto was born on September 15, 1916 in Clyde,
the daughter of Floyd and Constance Cipriano Giarnelli.
Jane was a graduate of the Clyde High School and the
Rochester School of Commerce. In 1940 she married
Michael DiSanto, who predeceased her in 1980. For a
brief period she was employed by her husband's
company, N.M. DiSanto Co. of Clyde. Jane then worked
for over 40 years for Scriber's Pharmacy in Clyde. She
was a lifetime member of St. John's Church and a
member of the Catholic Daughters of America Gleason
Court. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and loved to
dance. Jane had a wonderful sense of humor and energy
that will be missed by those who loved her.
She is survived by her sons James (Judy) DiSanto of
Indianapolis, IN., and David (Helene) DiSanto of Fairfax,
VA., her daughter, Karen (Steven) Pajak,
of Providence, RI., her grandchildren Michael, David, Jeffrey, Kristen,
Stephanie and Ryan, her great-grandchildren Emma
Jane, Natalie and Carly, her brother Michael Garnell of
Clyde, her sister Evelyn Giarnelli of Newark, and several
nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband she was pre-deceased by her
brother Frank Garnell, and her sisters, Mary DiRenzo,
Anna Nicoletta, Rose Giarnelli and Virginia Saltzburg.
