Raymond C. (Bud) Finch

Clyde- Mr. Raymond C. (Bud) Finch, 86, formerly of 171
Lock St., died Thursday (December 15, 2005) at the
Wayne County Nursing Home following an extended illness.
At Bud's request, there will be no prior calling hours. Family
and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Sunday
(December 18th) at 2 PM in the Clyde United Methodist
Church w/ Rev. Gordon Pearsall officiating. Burial will be in
Maple Grove Cemetery, Clyde.
Memorial contributions to the Clyde United Methodist
Church, 84 Sodus St. Clyde, NY 14433 or to the Clyde
Volunteer Ambulance Corps, PO Box 145, Clyde, NY
14433 would be appreciated.
Mr. Finch was born in Clyde on April 15, 1919, the son of
Roy and Flora Curtis Finch. Bud was a graduate of the
Clyde High School, class of 1936. He served in the Army
during World War II as a member of the 893rd Tank
Destroyer Battalion. On September 2, 1943 he married the
late Margaret K. McFarland Finch, and after 59 years of
marriage, she predeceased him on August 7, 2002.
Bud's career included working for his father as an auto
mechanic, general manager of Finch's School House
Cookie Bakery, Meade Machine Shop in Clyde, General
Electric Corp., Park Hannifin Corp., Crossman Arms,
Graflex and most recently Xerox where he worked for over
25 years.
He was a lifetime member of the Clyde United Methodist
Church. He loved automobiles and traveling.
Surviving are his two daughters, Cheryl K. Malone of
Naples, FL, and Suzanne (Chris Denucci) Finch of Seneca
Falls, his two sons, Roy W. (Bill) (Becky) Finch of Clyde
and Roger D. (David) (Elizabeth) Finch of Clyde, his sister
Janet (Walter) Yantch of Williamson,13 grandchildren and
7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Baris
Funeral Home, Clyde, NY

Lawrence W. Eckerdt

CLIFTON SPRINGS- Lawrence W. Eckerdt, 88, formerly
of 109 Ashton Court, died Friday (December 16, 2005) at
the Seneca Manor Nursing Home in Waterloo.
At his request there will be no prior calling hours or
funeral services.
Mr. Eckerdt was born on April 7, 1917 in New York City.
He worked many years as a machinist for Albany
Engineering Corp of Glen Falls, NY.
Surviving is his son, George H. Eckerdt and family of
Victor, NY
Arrangements are by the Baris Funeral Home of Clyde.

Phyllis A. Montemorano

CLYDE- Phyllis A. Montemorano, 90, formerly of 1201
Glover Rd, died Sunday (December 18, 2005) at the
Wayne County Nursing Home following an extended
illness.
Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday ( Dec.
20th) from 7-9 PM at the Baris Funeral Home, 87 W.
Genesee St. Clyde. A Mass of Christian Burial will be
celebrated on Wednesday (Dec. 21st) at 11AM in St.
John the Evangelist R.C. Church with Rev. James
Hewes officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
Memorial contributions to St. John's Church Memorial
Fund, 114 Sodus St., Clyde, NY 14433 or to Hospice of
Wayne County, 1120 S. Main St., Newark, NY 14513
would be appreciated.
Miss Montemorano was born on February 11, 1915 in
Clyde, the daughter of Pasquale and Tinella Cipriano
Montemorano. She was a lifetime member of St. John's
Church in Clyde. She had retired from the General
Electric Corporation in Auburn after more than 43 years
of service. Phyllis was always well known for her stylish
hats and high heeled shoes.
Surviving are many nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by her sisters, Mary Avoli, Rose
Nicoletta, May Delluomo, Jane Montemorano, and her
brothers, Michael, Vito, and John Montemorano.

Winifred A. Barnes

CLYDE /ROSE- Mrs. Winifred A. Barnes, 83, of 3876
Galen Rd. died peacefully Thursday (June 1, 2006) at
Newark-Wayne Community Hospital with her family at
her side.
Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday from 2-4
& 7-9 PM at the Baris Funeral Home, 87 W. Genesee St.
Clyde. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10 AM
in the funeral home with the Rev. Marcia King, Pastor of
the Rose United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will
follow in Rose Cemetery.
Memorial contributions to the Rose Volunteer Ambulance
Corps or to the Rose United Methodist Church would be
appreciated.
Mrs. Barnes was born in Virgil, NY on August 13, 1922,
the daughter of Alfred and Ocie Shibely Hoy. She moved
to the Rose - Clyde area in 1948. Winifred had been a
school teacher in the area for many years, retiring from
the North Rose-Wolcott School District. Winnie was
active in many community organizations, including
serving as past regent of the Colonel William Prescott
Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution,
Past Matron of the Order of Eastern Stars in both Clyde
and Wolcott, Past President of the Rose Oasis, a
member of the Rose Historical Society, the Wayne
County Historical Society and the Wayne County Retired
Teachers Association. She was also a member of the
Rose United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband Robert of Clyde, whom she
married on November 17, 1945, her daughter Judy
(Harry) Schwarz of Geneva, her son Jerome Barnes of
Ft. Lauderdale, FL, her grandchildren Jeffrey and Sarah
D'Amico of Geneva, her brother Daniel (Jane) Hoy of
Rochester, her sister Eva (Jess) Haelen of Rochester
her sister-in-law Mrs. Lillian Fisher of Thompson, Ohio,
and several nieces and nephews.

Donald "Ducky" R. Wright

CLYDE- Mr. Donald R. Wright, 76, of 143 Lock St., died
Monday (August 6, 2007) at Clifton Springs Hospital
following a courageous battle with cancer with his family
at his side.
Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday
(Aug. 8th) from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Baris Funeral Home,
87 W. Genesee St., Clyde. Funeral services will be held
on Thursday (Aug. 9th) at 10 AM in the Clyde United
Methodist Church with the Rev. Barbara DeAngelis
officiating. Burial will follow in South Lyons Cemetery.
Memorial contributions to the Clyde Volunteer
Ambulance Corps, PO Box 145, Clyde, NY 14433 would
be appreciated
Mr. Wright was born in Geneva on October 16, 1930, the
son of Leslie and Belle Miller Wright. He had been a
lifetime resident of Clyde and he served in the Air Force
during the Korean Conflict. On September 21, 1962 he
married the former Doris Bauer. Ducky had retired from
the Xerox Corporation in Webster. He served as a
committee person with the Clyde Sports Hall of Fame,
and he had coached Vince Lombardi football for over 15
years. He was an avid football and basketball fan, and
also enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a loving
husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Doris "Dori"
Wright of Clyde; two sons David (Rebecca) Wright of
Clyde and Daniel (Heather) Wright of Clyde; four
grandchildren Nikayla, Connor, Philip, and Mackenzi;
two brothers Leslie Wright of Rochester and Ernest
(June) Wright of Rochester and one sister Peggy
(Charles) Prober of Haines, FL. He was pre-deceased by
one sister, Bertha Maxwell.

Donald J. Stopfel

CLYDE- Mr. Donald J. Stopfel, 85, of 1525 Route 414
South, died Monday (July 30, 2007) at his residence
following a courageous battle with cancer.
Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday
(August 1st) from 5-8 PM at the Baris Funeral Home, 87
W. Genesee St. Clyde. Funeral services will be held on
Thursday (August 2nd) at 11 AM at the funeral home
with the Rev. Daniel Corretore officiating. Burial will
follow in Rose Cemetery.
Don was born in Tully, NY on June 19, 1922, the son of
Jay and Annabel Ashmore Stopfel. He moved to Clyde at
the age of 16, and has resided here for the past 69
years. Mr. Stopfel served in the Army Counter
Intelligence Corps during World War II and was
stationed in Japan. On August 20, 1955, he married the
former June Briggs. Don had retired from the Seneca
Army Depot where he was employed for over 30 years
as a transportation supervisor. He was a member of the
Bud Hinman Post # 947 of the VFW in Clyde. In April of
2007, he was inducted into the Clyde Sports Hall of
Fame, where he was recognized for his achievements in
basketball and baseball. Don was an avid golfer, and
also enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a great supporter
of local high school sports. He was a loving husband,
father and grandfather, and always supported his
grandchildren's extracurricular activities.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, June Stopfel of Clyde,
his daughters Vickie (George) Caligure of Homosassa,
Fl and Donna (Matthew) Collins of Wolcott; his
grandchildren Jamie and Scott Caligure, Lindsay
Molisani, Christopher Collins and Casey Collins; his
brother Earl Stopfel of Alfred and several nieces and
nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister Marion O'Leary.
