Robert Kachelmeyer

Oakfield - Robert (Bob) Kachelmeyer, 84, of Oakfield, entered into rest Wednesday, (October 27, 2010) at Crossroads House surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Kachelmeyer was born July 15, 1926 in Buffalo, the son of the late Michael and Geraldine (Miller) Kachelmeyer.

He was a proud WWII Navy veteran having served in the European and Pacific Theaters. He was well known in the community having retired from the plumbing business in 1992. He was a past member of the VFW, American Legion, Lions Club, Oakfield Rod and Gun Club and the Oakfield Historical Society.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Constance (Burns) Kachelmeyer; two sons, Robert Timothy (Lani) Kachelmeyer and Michael Burns Kachelmeyer both of Massachusetts; two daughters, Jill Klotzbach of Batavia and Robyn (Larry) Gage of Pittsford; a brother, Earl (Rita) Kachelmeyer of Oklahoma. He was the grandfather of Michael, Kristopher and Ashley Kachelmeyer; Kalen, Melissa and Tyler Burns; Matthew Klotzbach and Emily, Katherine and Mary Gage. Also surviving are two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his infant sister Norma.

Friends may call on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Avenue, Oakfield, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m., Saturday at St. Padre Pio Parish, St. Cecilia's Church. Burial with military honors will be at St. Cecelia Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Crossroads House, P.O. Box 403, Batavia, NY 14021.

Mr. William C. Lacy

Bergen - Mr. William C. Lacy, 61, of Bergen, construction worker for Gallina Development in Rochester, died Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at United Memorial Medical Center.

Mr. Lacy was born May 12, 1949 in Batavia, a son of the late Cecil and Helen Redinger Lacy.

A 1967 graduate of Byron-Bergen High School, Bill was a member of the Flowercity Sportsmen, Godfrey's Pond and a lifetime member of the Bergen Rod and Gun Club. Bill was an avid fisherman, who enjoyed being outdoors and enjoyed doing woodwork. A veteran, he served with the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Leeanne Palmer Lacy whom he married June 28, 1975; his son, Sean (Taylor Brenkus) Lacy of Bergen; his daughter, Jennifer Lacy of Bergen; two grandchildren, Alexus and Ryder Lacy; his brother, Robert (Frances Smith) Lacy of Spencerport; his sister, Deborah (Thomas) Mayne of Albion; his sister-in-law, Judith (Henry) Alderson of Nevada; three nephews, Michael West and David and Douglas Alderson; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and aunts.

Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 51 South Lake Street, Bergen. Graveside services will be held on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at Byron Cemetery, Townline Road, Byron. Memorials may be made to Bergen Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 428, Bergen, New York 14416 or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Mrs. Julia Latko

Alexander - Mrs. Julia Latko, 83, of Alexander, entered into eternal rest Thursday, (October 28, 2010) at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Facility.

Mrs. Latko was born August 7, 1927 in Batavia, a daughter of the late John and Anna (Bozek) Penkszyk.

Mrs. Latko was employed for many years at the Batavia Downs Club House. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed deer hunting season, making coffee, food and making wonderful pies for her son John and daughter Christine's hunting buddies. Mrs. Latko also enjoyed driving the ATV in the back woods and visiting with family and friends.

Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Latko of Batavia and Christine (Steven) Pettine of Whitewell, Tennessee; a son, John (Providence) Latko of Batavia; three grandchildren, Edward (Michelle) Graff of Palm Springs, California, Teresa (David) Sanchez of Charlotte, North Carolina and Joshua (Andrea) Latko of Ludowici, Georgia. At this time Joshua is currently serving with the United States Army and is stationed in Iraqi. Also surviving are great-grandchildren, Julia Jean Graff, Noelle and Noah Sanchez, Hannah Lynn Latko, Ethan John Latko and Elayna Joy Latko; a brother, Michael Penkszyk of Alexander; a sister, Jane Penkszyk of Batavia and several nieces and nephews.

She is the wife of the late Felix Latko who passed away in 1984. Mrs. Latko is predeceased in death by her brothers and sister, Walter Pawelski, Bella Cevick, John (Joe) Penkszyk and Francis Penkszyk.

There are no prior calling hours and services will be private. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Batavia. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Paws of Love Dog Sanctuary, In memory of Julia Latko, P.O. Box 734, Jasper, Tennessee, 37347.

Onalee E. Mills

Warsaw - Mrs. Onalee E. Mills, 93, of Warsaw and formerly of Genesee County, died Thursday, (October 21, 2010) at the Eastside Nursing Home in Warsaw.

Mrs. Mills was born October 1, 1917 in Basom, the daughter of the late Luwellyn and Luella (Sprague) Hatch.

She was a registered nurse at the former Genesee Memorial Hospital and former St. Jerome's Hospital for 25 years. Mrs. Mills was a member of First Baptist Church of Batavia and attended the Batavia Christian Women's Club. She also belonged to The Genesee County Historical Society and participated in The Current Books and Topics Club.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda (Charles) Canon of Wyoming and Gail (James) Richert of Lakeport, Michigan; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Mills is predeceased by her two husbands, Albert Neth, who died in 1970 and Olin Mills who died in 1980. She is also predeceased by her brothers, Edward Hatch and Lloyd Hatch.

Calling hours will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of Batavia, 306 East Main Street, Batavia. Burial will be in Stafford Rural Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Batavia, 306 East Main Street, Batavia, N.Y. 14020.

Mrs. Lori Ann Nelson

Bergen - Mrs. Lori Ann Nelson, 49, of Bergen, a bookkeeper for the Town of Bergen and Joanne Amon CPA in Batavia, died suddenly on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at United Memorial Medical Center, in Batavia.

Mrs. Nelson was born February 10, 1961 in Jamestown, the daughter of John "Jack" and Mary (Tornstrom) Rounds of Las Vegas, NV.

She was a member for 11 years and Vice President for 8 years of the Byron Bergen Central School Board of Education, a voting delegate to the New York State School Board Association, and served on the Executive Board of the Genesee Valley School Boards Association. She was a member of the Byron Bergen Sports Boosters and volunteer for school musical productions. She remained active in student activities long after her children had graduated from Byron Bergen High School and was active in Boy Scouts and former Troop Leader for the Girl Scouts as well as volunteering at the Bergen 1st Presbyterian Church Nursery and Vacation Bible School.

She is survived by her husband, Robert L. Nelson whom she married October 10, 1981; a son, Mitchel Nelson of Bergen; 2 daughters, Bobbi Gayle Nelson of Niagara Falls and Regina Nelson of Herkimer, 2 brothers, Randy (Bonnie) Rounds of Las Vegas and David Rounds; several nieces, nephews and many close friends whom she welcomed into her family.

Friends may call on Tuesday and Wednesday from 3 to 8 p.m. at H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 51 S. Lake St., Bergen. Services will be at 7 p.m. Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Bergen 1st Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.

Mrs. Jane R. Ryan

Bergen - Mrs. Jane R. Ryan, 84, retired print shop manager at Union Bank of California located in El Cajon, died Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at Lakeside Biekirch Care Center, in Brockport.

Mrs. Ryan was born June 15, 1926 in Batavia, the daughter of the late Sidney and Ruth Sheridan Maher. She graduated from LeRoy High School in 1945.

After her husband, Guy V. Ryan died in 2000, she moved back to the Bergen area.

Survivors include one brother, Robert (Kathleen) Maher of Bergen; four sisters, Donna (Robert) Powers, Barbara O'Grady and Marlene (James) Ireland all of Bergen and Geraldine Lichti of Florida; a stepdaughter, Bethel (Dan) Awtrey of Texas and several nieces and nephews.

She was the stepmother of the late Marilyn Shafrath and sister of the late Norman Maher and Gladys Hill.

Friends may call on Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 am at H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 51 S. Lake St., Bergen. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 PM, Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, St. Brigid's Church, 18 Gibson Street, Bergen.

Memorials may be made to National Parkinson Foundation, Inc., Office Of Development, 1501 N.W. 9th Avenue, Miami, FL 33136-1494. Burial will be in Singing Hills Memorial Park, El Cajon.

Marian J. Winspear

Batavia - Mrs. Marian J. Winspear, 91, of Batavia, died Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Strong Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Winspear was born September 16, 1919 in Redford, NY, a daughter of the late Frederick and Mary Margaret (McMillian) Jacobs.

She was a member of the Anglican Community Church of Batavia and enjoyed reading, her cats, cooking and most of all, her family.

Her husband, Gordon L. Winspear, died in1979.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Ellen Stanton of E. Bethany and Hazel Crandall of Fletcher, NC; 6 grandchildren, Julie (Jon) Marino of Batavia, Bradley (Kathy) Winspear, Jenny Winspear and Gordon Winspear, all of Oakfield, Michelle Yun of Batavia and Rachel Crandall of Fletcher, NC; 7 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late Gordon E. Winspear, Jr., mother-in-law of the late Dale Crandall and grandmother of the late Michael d. Crandall.

Friends may attend graveside services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Evergreen Hill Cemetery, Rt. #77, Corfu. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family to be distributed to various charities. Arrangements were completed by Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home of Oakfield.

Ardella L. Tatro

Batavia - Mrs. Ardella L. Tatro, 74, of Batavia, died Monday, (October 4, 2010) at United Memorial Medical Center.

Mrs. Tatro was born June 11, 1936 in Pike, a daughter of the late William and Annabelle (Selfridge) Smith.

She loved to crochet, do crafts, cook and spend time with her family. Mrs. Tatro was also a yard sale enthusiast.

Survivors include her husband, Earl Tatro of Batavia; eight children, Dannis Blanco of Atlanta, Georgia, William Blanco of Niagara Falls, Gail Carpenter of Batavia, Sandra (Scott) Ohlson of East Bethany, Lavine Scroger of Taylorsville, North Carolina, Bronco Blanco of Batavia, Jesse (Julie) Blanco of Batavia and Angela Blanco of Batavia; a step-daughter, Earlene (Louis) Howard of La Vernia, Texas; four brothers, Clarence (Eva) Smith of Friendship, Norman (Skeet) Smith of Fillmore, George (Margaret) Smith of Warsaw and Kenneth (Teresa) Smith of Niagara Falls; four sisters, Barbara Mullen of Oakfield, Mary Mitchell of Tennessee, Penny McDaniel of North Carolina and Mabel (Joe) Tomasine of Tennessee; 34 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She is the mother of the late Kathy Dauber and a sister of the late Margaret Mosholder, Gordon Smith and Dennis Smith.

Calling hours are Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to noon and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Avenue, Oakfield. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Oakfield United Methodist Church, 2 South Main Street, Oakfield. Burial will be in Reed Cemetery, Oakfield. Memorials may be made to the family.

Mr. Michael C. Steuber

LeRoy - Mr. Michael C. Steuber, 67, of LeRoy, retired forklift mechanic for Eastman Kodak Co. in Rochester, died Sunday, October 17, 2010 at United Memorial Medical Center.

Mr. Steuber was born May 29, 1943 in Rochester, a son of the late Edward Carl and Margaret Henrietta Steuber.

Mr. Steuber served with the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War attaining the rank of sergeant. He worked on jet engines at Da Nang Air Base and received five medals for his service.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Gloria Greenman Steuber; his son, Keith (Lydia) Steuber of North Carolina; his step-daughter, Lisa (Dan) Tasmer of Friendship; his brother, Edward Steuber of Kendall; four grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and friends.

There are no prior calling hours. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in North Byron Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of LeRoy, 5 East Main Street, LeRoy, New York 14482.
