O'Neill, both of Sydney, Australia; beloved uncle and great-uncle of John's children & grandchildren. Rev. O'Neill was ordained a Priest for the Archdiocese of Sydney, Australia in 1959 and has ministered in the Diocese of Rochester since 1995. Rev. O'Neill was appointed Pastor of St. Thomas Aquinas, Leicester, St. Lucy, Retsof and Sacramental Minister at SUNY Geneseo in 1999.
Rev. O'Neill will Lie in State SUNDAY, April 2, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas, 175 Main St., Leicester. Solemn Evening Prayer will be celebrated at 6:00 p.m. Calling hours will be held MONDAY, April 3, from 2-4, & 7-9 p. m at the DiPonzio Funeral Home, Inc., 219 Spencerport Rd., Gates. Panos, Victoria K. (Poulos): MYRTLE BEACH, SC: Age 71, died April 1, 2000. She was born October 6, 1928 in Bradford, PA, a daughter of Afrodidi Karahalos Poulos of Erie, PA and the late Kostadinos Poulos.
Besides her mother, she is survived by her devoted husband, William T. Panos of Myrtle Beach, SC; three beloved children, Theodore Panos and his wife Maria S. of Surfside, SC, Elaine Willett and her husband John C. of North Myrtle Beach, SC, and Constantine W. Panos and his wife Catherine of Little River, SC; a loving sister, Fay K. Mintsiveris of Erie, PA; ten adoring grandchildren, Victoria, Cora, William T. and Stephanie Panos, Amalia and Zoe Willett, Julia, Hannah, Joshua and William C. Panos, and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, April 2, 2000 at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church. Visitation at McMillan-Small Funeral Home will be 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-9:00 PM, Monday, April 3, 2000. Tsigagion will be at 8:00 PM. Monday at the funeral home. Mascette, Vincent J. : Age 86, on September 28, 2000 at the V. A. Medical Center in Canandaigua, where he had been a patient for several years. He was a life-long resident of Solvay and retired as Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds at the New York State Fair, where he had worked for 36 years, beginning as a laborer. He was a U. S. Army veteran and served in World War II as a 2nd Lieut. Mr. Mascette was well-known in the Syracuse area as a professional hockey player and hockey referee. He played on the Clinton Comets team from the late 1930's through the 1950's and later was a referee in the AHL and the ECAC. He was a member of St. Cecilia's Church, Solvay, the Geddes Veterans of WWII and the Disabled American Veterans.
He was predeceased in May by his beloved wife of 59 years, Helen M. Mascette. He is survived by his children, Col. Alice M. Mascette, M. D. of Vienna, VA and Susan Mascette Brandt and William S. Brandt of Pittsford; his grandsons, Nicholas Doran Brandt and Joshua Mascette Brandt; his brother and sister, Michael Mascette and Dolores Nicolini of Solvay; and several nieces, nephews and their families.
Services will be conducted at 8:30 AM Tuesday in Bagozzi Twins Funeral Home and 9:00 AM in St. Cecilias Church. Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt. Calling hours are Monday from 5 to 8 PM at the Funeral Home, 2601 Milton Ave., Solvay. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Vincent & Helen Mascette Scholarship Fund for Graduates of Solvay H. S., c/o Central N. Y. Community Foundation, 500 S.
